The irony that only two games ago it was stated that Saints had reached a point where the Lego head haters had to fall in to line and accept Martin's greatness. Now we are back to RM football in all it's ponderous excruciating best. He is insufferable. The 'Always' of football coaching. He is exactly what we were warned he would be.

This is why I don't understand why, after one single decent game against a poor side, that Lego head is suddenly the messiah. I want consistent good performances before I can have my opinion changed.

So why does he tend to play slow ponderous possession based football most of the time ( with little success) ? Also at his previous two clubs. Its interesting that SR also did a forum explaining his 'style' and Saints media has been pushing his agenda. But you just ignore all that 😅

Because we didn't play the slow ponderous play that RM likes. It's interesting that when RM knows that fans don't like him he let's the guys play. As soon as he feels safe he goes back to his excruciating slow style.

I don't want RM to fail. I just can't see him succeeding. His teams have the worst defensive record. They play slow ponderous football. The tactics and line ups are often baffling. RM football is like playing with a deliberate handicap and it's frustrating as hell. RM then insists that this handicap will remain regardless of the fact that he has never had any success with it in his career. The only times we look good is when we move quickly which goes against the RM philosophy.

Completely irrelevant but you already know that. Chelsea are a totally different side to what we were when he came to us. I realise you are one of the main promoters of RussellBall but no matter how much you big him up, it's obvious it's not working.

All this topic has revealed is that some fans want to be gaslit and they will tie themselves in knots trying to gaslight others. Russell Martin isn't going to promote us. It's all excuses from him. Poch had a visible effect on us within a few weeks.

So if the fans cheered the team then the players would actually stop fannying about and actually attack at speed? Wow if only we had known that sooner.

Thats the problem. Russell Martin doesn't think he needs to learn anything more. This is what SR signed us up to.

Interesting you don't feel RM is responsible for being easily nullified when a bottom of the table coach makes a change. RM just blindly let things continue regardless leading to his own special kind of nothing football.

Nothing to do with Russell Martin? Seriously? The less RM in our style, the better and quicker we play. The more influence he has the more we slow down and return to his possession based drudgery. We have a decent squad held back by a poor coach.

You consistently ignore that Martin has failed miserably at his previous clubs playing the exact same style. Whilst we seem to be getting worse, at best, Martin's style and skill still doesn't achieve anything worth committing to.

Its not experimental. He does this at all his clubs. Hence why he has never achieved anything other than aggravating supporters. I'm confused how fans claim he is likeable. Who cares if he is a nice guy or not? It's results that matter. I don't trust any decision that SR make now.

If only there was a way SR could have known that Russell Martin was a very poor coach. Especially considering our obsession with statistics.

I question him based on his form. You worship him based on hopes and dreams. We are not the same thankfully.

You keep acting as if Martin has never coached elsewhere. It's amusing albeit confusing. Martin is known to be flawed at his previous clubs. Those same flaws exist now with us. You claim to be reasonable whilst acting nonsensical.

Has the system worked successfully at other clubs under Martin? Thats the question imho

I agree with what you're saying but Russell Martin doesn't do defensive tactics. He never has done as said by supporters of his previous clubs. This is why he is described as infuriating. He doesn't care about the defence.

So we need the coach who was described as being infuriatingly and maddeningly stubborn and set in his ways to change. And we sought this coach out. Deliberately. He says to trust the process because better coaches can succeed. He can't improve because in his mind he is doing it the only way there is.

There are thousands of Swansea and Mk Don's fans saying 'we told you so' around the world tonight. Could see this coming and got abused for it.
