  1. Loved Shane Long - he was pivotal in getting the best out of Ings and Mane when they were here. Peak SL would be our best attacked now by a mile.
  2. This just sums up the far right in this country, essentially Farage is the only one who is actually electable (Tice and 30p Lee perhaps) but as soon as he needs to grow his party and bring in more people it just ends up introducing people who are either publicly unappealing or unable to stay on script (which is quite important if you want to be a major party). Have to say I'm surprised with how quickly it's fallen apart but I think it shows the futility of having popularity before you've actually established the party properly.
  3. Has he got his knickers in a twist? I can't see that Farage has said anything on this yet? Unless I've missed it
  4. Can't believe he's 26! At least he's starting to get some decent minutes into his career.
  5. When he was here before he was perfect as we had a ridiculous squad for outside the prem so his "simple tactics and positive vibes" style was ideal. He's a fairly limited manager which is why his record is so patchy, more down to the luck of the situation.
  6. Strachan and Hoddle are both free and have better records in the prem
  7. Boris's biggest triumph was his diplomacy and support for Ukraine. The "Boris wave" stuff has basically ended his political career so it's no surprise he's going Ukraine first.
  8. In some ways this is the strangest of them all. We've been terrible this season in a big part because we have a championship quality squad lacking in premier league quality and experience. He's one player who you'd have thought could come in and just be a competent premier league player.
  9. I thought the Tories would do anything to avoid another leader turnover but she's objectively really poor. Labour are hardly popular at the moment but she's pretty much single handedly keeping them in the game. I think the Tories will pull the plug at the first opportunity to avoid getting cemented in 3rd place.
  10. PTSD. Remember thinking just dont end up in the keepers hands so he can launch it... Like others, up there with the worst moments of my Southampton supporting life.
  11. If he's open to playing in the championship next year, we might be able to afford him now, would comfortably improve us.
  12. Ward Prowse has returned to West Ham - wonder if he's going back out on loan.
  13. Surely Bednarek is worth more than 8 million euros? I know he's not brilliant, but he's a top championship, just about prem level defender. We'd struggle to replace him for that.
  14. Prutton was brilliant under Redknapp until the Arsenal incident. That Liverpool game him and Crouch were incredible and I thought we'd be fine. Draper was a waste of space. Silly comparison.
  15. On paper, even with the likely leavers as you mention there, we should have a very strong championship side. In terms of long term building a competitive premier league side, of the players who might stay the only ones with premier league potential are Wood, Edwards, Bednarek, Charles and SAA IMO and most of them are still a long way off. We're going to need a few strong transfer windows if we have any chance of competing in the prem in the next 2-3 years.
  16. Not sure I understand what happened with BBD. I know he wasn't great for us, but he's shown more in the prem previously then any of our other attackers but seemed to not get much of a chance.
  17. He is - he's very competent. He should probably dump Reeves to sweep the bad PR under the carpet and start afresh. He could also do with someone likeable in his cabinet he can send to do the TV rounds, but he prioritised 'seriousness' in his cabinet to be effective against the "Buffon" tories in the election.
  18. You'd think a back 5 of Ramsdale, Taylor, ABK, Bednarek and KWP would be competitive in the prem. Shame our midfield and attack are completely below this level though.
  19. Yep, think that's it and tbh I've been surprised how poor Labour's PR has been in power considering how good they were at taking apart the Tories in the last couple of years.
  20. As it stands we're on course to break Derby's points record. I'd be pretty happy with a manager who comes in and brings some respectability to the season and sets us up for being competitive in the championship next season.
  21. Certainly getting lots of backing and they'll almost certainly grow/make gains over the next few years. Populist party with no real substance though, so will need to change that at some point and that will reign them back in a bit.
  22. For reference:
  23. Assuming RM's contract extension is announced pre-game, I think we'll nab the lead then lose 4 or 5 - 1.
  24. He's show himself to be a brilliant attacking midfielder / #10 and did at times here, but we played him mostly on the wing where he was less effective.
