Don't think Chelsea have been that brilliant under their new 'dynamic' manager.
-
Looking at Fulham's remaining fixtures they will do well to amass 16 points which would give them 34 total. I'm sure we'll get more than that even allowing for the current dreadful run.
-
Their debut boy Maja has scored both goals. They play at Burnley on Wednesday which will be massive if they win tonight.
-
Now 2-0. This new signing John Maja could kick-start them - he scored both goals. What the feck are Everton doing?

McCarthy is nowhere near vocal enough.
-
Captain is a tough spot to fill and even tougher to do it well. These players are all team mates and it goes against the grain to bawl out an individual who hasn't done his job. That takes courage and an ability to do it fairly without it sounding too harsh. It's a fine line. There are not many Roy Keane's around who would have no hesitation in ripping into a team mate. Not sure we have anyone who can do the job well. On a connected note I do feel that McCarthy is nowhere near vocal enough. You don't hear anything from him. Compare that to the cup game against Wolves when you could clearly hear Forster shouting whenever the ball was near our area. It is a big part of the job of a goalkeeper to command his part of the field and let his team mates know when to push up or warn them of danger or call for the ball. McCarthy does not do this and is failing to warn his defenders of danger that he may spot before them because he can see all in front of him. Maybe this contributes to why Forster is not having so many saves to make.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg unless of course you are going right back to before he went out on loan?
-
It's pretty difficult to do that from the bench.
-
This is why we are struggling. Not enough players have the balls or the ability to take a chance, to gamble and create space and a bit of panic for the opposition. We have become far too predictable and almost programmed to go back and sideways, wash, rinse and repeat.
-
Regarding the battle of the goalkeepers I did not hear a peep out of McCarthy all game. No organising the defence, no shouts to get out. On thursday you could hear Foster's booming voice every time Wolves got near our penalty area. This is a big part of a 'keeper's game and I'm afraid McCarthy doesn't do it. Defenders are not always aware of the danger around them whereas the 'keeper mostly has a good view and should use his gob to help out his team mates.

We lost control of the game because Wolves made a single tactical change at half time. They pulled Traore off the left wing where he has been ineffective and allowed him to roam around and get more involved. The manager and coaches should be competent enough to spot what, was not a subtle change, and react accordingly. That they didn't is ultimately a large chunk of the reason we got nothing from the game.

6 goals in 8 games one of which was against Chorley. Doesn't sound as though they have too many dangerous attackers.

Ralph has shown faith in Redmond. He needs to repay that faith with a more dynamic performance, show some balls going forward and put the ball in the net if and when he gets the chance.
-
Agree with that team.
-
Come on, it's not rocket science. Get your thinking cap on.
-
We should have enough to win this quarter final but Bournemouth will be well up for it. Ralph will know that and will not take it lightly so I would hope our extra class should be the telling factor. We'll need to start on the front foot to set the tempo and, if we do, I expect us to secure the win for a semi-final spot.

Redmond needs to add a few tricks to his game. I think he has a lot more talent than he displays and perhaps it is a confidence thing. He always seems content to play everything safe which often means going backwards. There is a player in there but he needs to express himself more and drive at defenders with conviction. Take them on and he'll get into dangerous positions and cause a bit of panic. Ok, he'll lose the ball sometimes but let's see him getting on the front foot and making defenders think rather than being all too predictable and ponderous.
-
I can guarantee he won't play on Saturday.

Aside from missing an absolute sitter that was a sublime performance from Armstrong. Always available and intelligently playing between the lines he was a constant threat to Wolves. He is brave enough to back himself to take players on and very often gets past them. Now and then he gets caught out trying to be positive but I would prefer this to some of the others who nearly always resort to taking the easy option. His goal was superbly taken with a sweet strike that went in off the far post. We certainly miss his energy and drive when he doesn't play.

Sometimes a goalkeeper has not much to do because he is doing the rest of his job properly and keeping the defence calm and organising them by shouting. It's not all about shot-stopping.
-
Fraser for me. If not now, when?
-
Salisu should start for me. Let's give him a run of games and see what he is made of. We are in no danger or relegation so nothing to fear. He needs games.
-
Nope. Give Salisu a run for me and let's see what he can do. The others we know about and they all make plenty of costly mistakes so let's take a proper look at Salisu.
-
Predicting Salisu will quickly become our first choice out of the 4 centre backs. The other 3 will be battling to partner him. He's got it all.
-
His very first game and Salisu gave me a feeling of comfort and confidence in our defence. He is such a unit and pretty quick for his size. Ok, he made mistakes but most centre backs do and it was his debut so we can allow a few blemishes. Give him a run of games and I am pretty sure he'll become one of the first names on the teamsheet. Said it on the match thread, I think him and Vest will put the fear of God in opposition defences with JWP's deliveries at set pieces.
