  1. Danny Ings if we are lucky.
  2. Newcastle have 3 very good players coming back after the international break.
  3. Either utilise Tella's pace with some long balls over the top or don't pick him. He is not suited to the tip tap, sideways, backwards rubbish.
  4. Yeah, it's a tongue in cheek comment but come on - we just didn't show for the ball. I lost count of the number of times the player with the ball looked for options and then had no choice but to go backwards and recycle. Nobody attempted to pull away from Brighton's back four and come shorter to put themselves between the lines and make them think a bit and pull them out of shape. For the most parts they were allowed to defend very comfortably.
  5. Our movement off the ball today was non existent. I think 11 dustbins would have shown for the ball more and probably been quicker.
  6. Have to agree. Might as well give Salisu a run because Bednarek was all over the place today against average opponents.
  7. The concern for me is that I watched that game today and at hardly any stage did I think we were going to win. I expect that when we play the likes of Man City but not fecking Brighton.
  8. On current form can only seeing us scraping another 3 points from 3 scrappy draws. Not sure who we are going to beat after watching today's horror show. We can only hope Danny Ings comes back firing after the international break but I won't be holding my breath. Ralph and the players look like rabbits caught in headlights. When you do not even mark opponents at throw-ins you know something basic is seriously lacking. It's a worry.
  9. It's hard to mount a defence for Ralph after the form this year culminating in today's shit show. I've tried to stay with him but any coach at this level who can stand and watch us failing entirely for 90 minutes to attempt to play between the opposition lines is clearly lacking. This is basics and it worries me that Ralph did nothing to address the problem.
  10. That was as bad as it gets and we were awful for the whole game. We looked lethargic and disinterested and hardly won a 50/50 ball. It was very clear that Brighton wanted it more and if you don't match the opponent's effort you are nowhere. We allowed them to totally dictate the game on their terms. When they won throw-ins we marked nobody - at one point in the second half they threw the ball into our area to a player who was completely unmarked and got a shot away - at this level that is just not acceptable. We did not once attempt to get our receiving players between the lines and I was yelling at the tv for them to do it - Ralph should have sorted that out. Tella is not suited to our tip tap football - he needs balls played over the top to run onto but all he got was scraps. Brighton weren't great but we let them coast to an easy 3 points in an important match. Ralph needs to sort this mess out and quickly because as we saw yesterday, Burnley will be no pushovers. Play like that today and we can also forget about beating Bmuff next week.
  11. We need to come flying out of the blocks second half which doesn't happen often.
  12. We have not been better than them. Let's not kid ourselves.
  13. Are you for real?
  14. Minamino and Tella not offering much and both look weak. Not sure who decided it would be a good idea to match Bertrand against Dunk at a corner but clearly it didn't work. Need to step us several gears if we are to get anything here as we are looking vulnerable and giving the ball away far too cheaply.
  15. Oh joy! That will be less than inspiring - is he the best they can come up with?
  16. Melt nothing - I stand by my comments which were made based on how City played in the first half. Saints might well have got at least a point against that team and certainly wouldn't have lost by 5-2.
  17. Glad to see City reserves decided to break sweat in the second half - Pep must have had a word. Fulham were awful. Imagine how many the City team that we faced would have scored tonight - Mahrez, De Bruyne, Foden, Gundogan would have filled their boots.
  18. I'm sure every team in the Prem would be delighted to face the City side Pep has put out tonight. They have not clicked at all, look disjointed and totally ordinary. Brighton and Newcastle fans will be seething. Every chance Fulham could take 3 points here unless Pep makes some major changes for the second half. Parker can't believe his luck - last week a lethargic Liverpool and now a City team devoid of cohesion and ideas.
  19. I see Pep is going easy on Fulham tonight judging by the team he's picked. No Marez, De Bruyne, Foden, Sterling, Walker, Gundogan or Fernandinho.
  20. Cracking first half at Goodison. Burnley playing superbly.
  21. According to BBC stats Pompey have not had any kind of a shot or even won a corner and it's half time.
  22. It was a good victory but Liverpool are a shadow of their former selves and currently Anfield is no fortress as proved by recent results.
  23. This is certainly something Ralph needs to look at because that is a pretty damning statistic. We need to mix it up more and be prepared to hit some longer balls forward. We are currently far too predictable.
  24. Shocking game.
  25. Well I watched it on the highlights video and couldn't see McCarthy's mouth move so either he whispered or, as I said previously, he is a very good ventriloquist. With Forster you can hear him bellowing and certainly see his mouth open. The bottom line is that there needs to be very clear and loud communication between a goalkeeper and his defenders - it is part of the role.
