  1. Maybe it's his tactics that are the problem. Just saying.
  2. Not sure I'd risk Salisu in this one. Play Bednarek who would be much less a loss if injured.
  3. He'll have ten others on his side 🙂
  4. Don't get so hung up about everything. This is an open forum where fans are free to publish views which probably won't always conform to yours. Just because Ralph is our manager and he is paid millions doesn't mean he never makes mistakes and big ones at that - anyone who has presided over two nine nil defeats is not some kind of genius. I still believe that, if Che hadn't got injured he would not have picked Broja and we wouldn't have seen him yet - again, just my take on it. I watched plenty of videos of Broja before he joined us and judged that he has all the tools to be a top quality striker and offers a lot that neither AA or Che do ie pace combined with power, he can head the ball and also make powerful runs into the box and finish into the corners. Maybe I was impatient to see him in the team but he has shown exactly what I expected of him. Along with many others I think Tino has shown enough signs with his passing ability, strong tackling, forages down the wing, trickery and ability to get shots away to demonstrate he could play on the right in front of KWP (not sure what other attributes a right sided midfielder needs but we have a number who've played there and have few of them). It may not work but then Ralph tries other things that don't work eg starting Theo. It just seems a pity that one of our best players, KWP, in a fairly limited squad can't be fitted into the team and this may lead to us losing him. Again, I get that you don't agree with that and that is your prerogative.
  5. What, you mean those very fit senior players, most of whom miss nearly every chance they are presented with? I think even a half fit Broja scores more than them.
  6. Spot on.
  7. All this guff about Ralph man managing Broja! I get that he was never going to play him in the first match of the season but he is clearly the best striker at the club so, in my opinion, Ralph 'man managing' him for a few games would have had little affect and is not the reason that Broja has scored two in two starts. A good manager knows his best players and starts them.
  8. Still like to know the truth about what we are paying Theo per week.
  9. How is he doing this bloke who is only good enough to be an impact sub? I know he's apparently not in the same league as AA and Che because he is raw and has so much to learn. I guess he's had his chance, not taken it, and should be back on the bench next week?
  10. I'd be interested to hear Ralph explain why he hooked Walcott at half time previously then reinstated him to the team and gave him a large chunk of the game yesterday inspite of him continuing to play so poorly. I just can't get my head around this decision. I don't expect any of the lapdog press to raise this question with him at the presser ahead of the next game because they collectively give him a very easy ride. It's like him being questioned by a bunch of his mates.
  11. I think Ralph has painted himself into a corner. He seems one of the few who don't see the benefits of a KWP/Tino partnership on the right but if he tries it now and it works a dream he makes himself look a complete incompetent.
  12. Chelsea fans asking the club to recall Broja after injuries to Lukaku and Werner. Fortunately for us it seems that, even if they wanted to, they'd have to wait until January
  13. Just had a gander at Newcastle's fixtures to the end of he year and they could well be in the doo doo. Bearing in mind they can't buy new players I doubt they'll get many more than 10 points from them and that's being generous. That would leave them with 13 points after 20 games so right in the thick of a battle to stay up. The good news for us is that we play them on 2 January so they will not have time to get in new blood to face us. It's going to be an interesting ride for the new owners and they may need to shell out more than they anticipated in the January window. Of course, they might get the new manager bounce but, whoever they choose, will have his work cut out because their squad looks pretty weak until they get the chance to strengthen.
  14. Strong rumours that the Saudis have asked Ashley for their money back because what they bought is not fit for purpose.
  15. ...
  16. Can't work out if there is a problem with the volume control on my TV. Watching the Newcastle game and it started very loud but now, no matter how high I put the volume, it is almost silent.
  17. Just showed a shot of the new Newcastle owner - looked as though he was sending a text to find out how much of his money he can get back by selling the club 🙂
  18. I felt Broja provided a presence that unsettled the Leeds back line and that alone possibly created extra space for others to make runs etc that might not have been the case with either AA or Adams up top. I don't dismiss what AA and Adams bring to the side because they are both fine players in their own right. I have often pointed out that AA has been starved of the kind of service he will thrive on so we've yet to see the best of him though his fine strike against Everton gave us an inkling. I just believe Broja gives us more of an edge as the out and out striker because he has more strings to his bow than the other two. Adams still needs to work on his weaker foot. his general coolness in front of goal and certainly needs to learn how to head the ball but is excellent at holding the ball and has a good range of passing.
  19. Also, you listed those players as a comparison to Broja not me.
  20. Really, who gives a shit about xG?
  21. You forgot his run past a couple of players into the left side of the box and low shot saved by the keeper in the first half. How many efforts between them did Redmond, Djenepo, Elyounoussi, Tino and Peraud manage?
  22. I said when he signed that he reminded me of Kolo Toure and nothing I've seen has changed my mind. Ok, he had a brain fart yesterday with a poor pass leading to a burst through the middle from James which he didn't deal with particularly well. However, his overall performance levels this season have been off the charts and he is only going to get better. As others have said, it is a matter of time before the big boys come sniffing and he is likely to be already on their radar. Maybe Newcastle will go after him, that wouldn't surprise me.
  23. If you call that a tap in that's an opinion you are entitled to. I saw a player take up a good position to receive a pass then cooly lift the ball high into the roof of the net to avoid the goalkeeper's attempted block. Going on his record I am convinced Che would have smashed it hard straight at the keeper and that is my opinion to which I am entitled.
  24. Broja is far more than just a big target man to lump the ball at and ask him to compete with physical centre backs which is exactly why he should play. Give him balls on the ground to feet or through the channels and his pace, power and skill will turn those lumbering giants and provide the openings we'll be looking for. Plus we'll need him to help defend set pieces because Burnley will load them in the mixer and five foot nothing Armstrong and Adams who cannot head the ball are not the answer.
  25. If Broja gets enough games I believe he will outscore AA and Adams but we'll see.
