  1. Can't see this starting at 8.30 unless they want a riot on their hands. Sounds like Y and Z turnstiles are not getting Liverpool fans into the stadium and they've been pepper sprayed. Could get ugly this. Hope not.
  2. Agree. On no account do we want to sign Harry Winks.
  3. I'd be more than happy if Bednarek could do the job of one player - his own.
  4. Just saying because I've heard Ralph is not that open to discussing things with his coaches. He seems to be a bit of an autocrat who likes to do everything his own way. Not very healthy if true and, of course, it may not be.
  5. Ralph is probably worried the new owners will bring in some coaches with a bit about them who will question some of his team selections, tactics and decision making.
  6. Would cost the new owners a lot of dosh to sack Ralph. I think that is one of the reasons they have decided to give him another roll of the dice. They may also think he can do a better job given better players and coaches so let's see what tools they give him. I'd have got rid but can see why they've given him a chance.
  7. Some good news at last. Let's hope we now recruit some coaches with the skills needed at this level because we've spent too long with the previous clueless bunch.
  8. My understanding is that it relates to shots coming in from players breaking into the box on the left or right as opposed to down the middle. I think the view is that he should save anything near post but a shot into the far corner not so much. Could be completely wrong of course 🙂
  9. Spot on. We need some tall, strong athletes with a bit of pace and power about them. A few of them in our box defending corners and free kicks might also reduce the free headers that regularly end up in our net.
  10. I think Diallo (and our team for that matter) needs to play in a midfield of three. He is not suited to Ralph's daft playbook and, along with his team mates, gets swamped and over run in a midfield of two. Still believe Diallo is a far better footballer than our manager and coaches have managed to make him look. Unfortunately that is a recurring theme throughout the side.
  11. Not sure tearing up Ralph's playbook will cause any serious issues even in the short term. A new manager would want to stamp his own style on the way the team plays and he'd have the whole pre-season to work on that and get the players tuned in to his methods.
  12. Why have coaches at all then?
  13. Look at the two goal scored by Perez on Sunday and you'll see exactly why we conceded so many goals. We have plenty of defenders in the box but not one of them is marking an opponent. These type of goals happen all the time. As Ralph and his coaches are incapable of correcting this basic defensive task then it's time they went.
  14. I think we need height plus some more fast, powerful, athletic players. It seems to me we are mainly a bunch of slow weaklings which is why we are so easy to overpower.
  15. I think there is a lot of truth in this. The problem with Ralph is that you have to buy into and play the game according to his play book. Unfortunately football is played on a grass pitch not on the paper pages of a book. All flair seems to vanish as soon as players get taught the Ralph way. Seen it with Tino, Broja, Djenepo, Tella even the likes of Redmond and Elyounousi.
  16. Agree. Love his passion and commitment - a few of his team mates could learn from him on that score. However, he does seem to do everything in a headlong rush and that is a sure way to make mistakes. The best defenders are the ones who are cool and calm even in a frenzied situation. Ok, he's never going to be a VVD but if someone could coach him to be a little less gung-ho he'd certainly improve. Unfortunately, we don't have the coaches who are capable of helping Lyanco or any of our other players. Mass clear out needed starting with Ralph.
  17. Calling it a 'bad run' doesn't tell the whole story. Speaking for myself I can accept defeats but it is the manner of the defeats which makes me believe Ralph has run his course with us. We lost to some poor teams struggling at the foot of the table. We were weak, offered little or no opposition and looked absolutely clueless in attack, defence and midfield. Leicester as a prime example will not have had an easier 3 points all season. Ralph trots out platitudes but there is no substance to what he spouts nor any sign that he has a clue how to turn things around when his teams enter a slump. His time is up for me so he can go and take his ridiculous play book with him.
  18. It's not just the defeats it's the manner of them. Leicester will not have had an easier 3 points all season. The goals were a joke. Lyanco made two errors for the price of one and, as usual, the two Perez-he-never-scores-goals were the usual case of us having half a dozen players in our penalty area marking themselves. All a bit embarrassing and time for Ralph and his goalkeeping coaches to leave and for us to try some fresh blood because it has not been anywhere near professional enough for the level we play at.
  19. I read that Ralph asked Leicester to let Saints walk through their defence and score after their controversial first goal. No Ralph, that's what the defence you coach does, opponents less so.
  20. The problem for the home games is the set up at St Marys leading go the police insisting that away fans sit in what should be our main singing end. If we were allowed to fill that end with home support the noise and atmosphere would be transformed.
  21. Chicken and egg though isn't it. If the manager isn't up to the job why let him choose which new players in which positions we prioritise. For me get a new manager in and then let him assess and overhaul the squad.
  22. Yeah, I thought about that but I just think Semmens will fight his corner and convince the new owners to give him another go.
  23. Time is up Ralph. 5 points from a possible 36 in our last 12 games. Goal difference of about -23. Losses to sides we should be doing much better against. No sign that he could do anything to stem the tide. Just poor team selections, substitutions, motivation, tactics etc. Enough chances and this should be his swan song but I think Semmens will save his neck.
  24. Not with the amount of money that would cost him. He'd be crazy.
  25. His time has come. It's just one crap performance after another.
