He's probably at least a couple of years away from when he'll be ready for first team football. In the meantime, if rumours are to be believed, he'll be earning £338,000 a year at a very young age. Hard to turn that down and, if he's good enough, he knows his chance will come whether at Newcastle or another top club. No brainer really.

Looks quite the beast. Big, strong and good in the tackle and seems to be able to weight a pass. Get him signed up.

All this talk of new owners ambitions or lack of, player movement, other clubs have spent more than us etc etc.....I hadn't realised the transfer window had already closed.

Don't think Ralph's tactics suited him last season. I can't recall him missing shedloads of chances because he simply didn't get the service that he needs. I still think he's a good finisher but you have to play the right system to get the best out of him - we didn't so not sure how we expected him to score goals.

Could be a case of us going down the Moneyball route similar to Brentford - looking for players who are underachieving but can be improved with the right training. Who knows.

Not sure how realistic this rumour is but he looks very good on skills videos. A real mix of goals including some nice headers and a good team player rather than a greedy barsteward. Looks a bit iffy on pens though 🙂

Yes, I am one of the oldies who remembers that deal! Ron Davies will always be one of my all time favourites. He scored a lot of goals for us many of which were superb especially headers from the supply of Paine and Sydenham - some of my fondest memories are from visits to the Dell in those days.

Looks great in skills videos - very agile and spreads himself well. Obviously the videos don't show mistakes and also nothing on handling of crosses or control/passing with his feet. However, he looks a massive upgrade on McCarthy though that's not hard.

I hope we don't take Winks in part exchange for JWP because he is not what we need and Levy will just use him in any deal to rip us off.
