It's the Portuguese influence.

Where were you Fraser?

Tella struggling. Caused the pen. Why no KWP?
-
I agree about Lyanco and would swap him out for Jack Stephens.

I don't get why anyone would want to change the formation we used against Brentford. The 5 at the back worked perfectly and for this game we can swap in KWP for Tella making us even stronger. Stick with it and also the 3 in midfield which was a revelation in terms of how well they gelled and how we had so much more shape as a team. It allowed us to play at a higher intensity for longer because we didn't have a midfield 2 haring everywhere and getting knackered and then leaving the defence exposed. I don't see how we can split up the midfield 3 of JWP, Romeu and Diallo who looked very fluid together. Diallo must be given more game time as he is a superb player and will get better but not from the bench. Come on Ralph, you know it makes sense.

Think he's only 2 behind Ings in Prem goalscoring stats? Imagine what'll happen if he suddenly catches fire 🙂

Wolves have only scored 14 goals which is ten less than us and we think we're struggling to put away chances! This gives me real hope that we can come away with something. They are not banging in goals for fun. Most of their wins are 1-0. On the flip side of course they concede few - just 14 so far. If we can score at least one goal I feel we have a great chance of at least a draw. It's a tricky one to call.

Yeah, bet none of them will miss this through covid or a sprained left ear lobe. Maybe we should push to get our game with them rearranged for Wed 26 January to piss them off 🙂

I've noticed Broja makes a lot of those runs where he beats defenders and cuts into the box so we need to capitalise more on that by stressing that runners must get into the box. As it was he had only two options against Brentford, Redmond and Perraud and both peeled away from goal whereas if they'd taken a gamble a tap-in was on. It is something we can work on and maybe get some joy from.

I remember that. Was on a skiing holiday and we kept getting score updates and nobody could believe it. From what I can remember it was one of those freak games where every shot we had went in and Wolves couldn't buy a goal.

I'll take that as a resounding no from the rest of you for Almiron then. Maybe I was lured in by his skills videos 🙂
-
I just think he's been playing in a really poor side for 3 years and maybe a fresh start is what he needs. As to wages, I have no idea what he's currently on.

Wouldn't mind making a cheeky bid for Migual Almiron from Newcastle. They bought him for 20 mill 3 years ago but can't get a tune out of him. Looking at his skills videos there's a good player in there. Think he's about 27.

To be fair he might have struck a cleaner shot and seen it saved by the keeper. Mind you, pretty well anything against that keeper on target was likely to go in. He made me grateful to have FF and AM. Seemed on the short side as well.

I agree entirely. I'm old enough to have seen the debuts of Channon, Moran, Williams, Shearer and Le Tiss amongst others and you could instantly tell they were going to be very good players. They just had something about them from the start of their careers - I guess you might call it the X-Factor. Broja has got that for me and I immediately felt he was special from his early appearances notably his brief intro against West Ham.

I'd like to see; FF KWP Bednrek Stevens Salisu Perraud JWP Romeu Diallo Broja Adams

15 points from 10 home games is very respectable for a club that is one of the lowest spenders in the Premier League. Over a season that would average out at around 28-29 points which is a good chunk of what is needed to stay up. Yes, we'd all like more wins but we have made St Marys a tougher place to come to this season.

Hojbjerg is several leagues below as Spurs fans are finding out.

They are also giving Eddie Howe far more slack than they ever gave Steve Bruce. I'm not a fan of Bruce but Howe hasn't exactly improved their performances or results culminating in the FA Cup defeat at home to Cambridge. Had Bruce been in charge for that debacle there would have been Hell to pay.

Agree with most of this but for me Diallo was far more than tenacious. He was gliding across the pitch and making the ball do the work plus playing some incisive passes that almost always found their target. His was an extremely accomplished display and he's clearly gained in confidence. He needs to be a regular starter for me.

Same formation as last night for me. We simply must keep that midfield three of JWP, Romeu and Diallo together because they were so good against Brentford. We look tighter and able to create more and also we can conserve energy. Having two in midfield results in a lot of extra running to compensate for lack of numbers and the whole side often run out of steam. I think we are a much better balanced side with a three in the middle.

Thomas Frank claiming Saints didn't create anything in the match. Yes, apart from 3 great goals from open play and a neat headed goal from a well taken corner - apart from that nothing. You watched a completely different game to the rest of us Thomas. I believe it's called sour grapes.

With more game time you can see his confidence growing. He is becoming so silky on the ball and great in transition. Has a great touch and is now turning out of trouble much quicker and setting up attacks with some astute passing. Think we've got a gem there and he'll get better and better.

Come on Danny, keep up - your old team mate Jan Bednaek has scored as many goals as you this season and Broja is leaving you in his wake 🙂
-
Agree. He worries me but was better second half. Maybe Ralph told him to keep it simple.
