Agreed. They weren't up to it, but at least the kids thrown in that season were giving it their all and looking like they cared. They tried, and that was important. This current team is so unlikeable, it's unreal.

A 2-year contract signed in the summer of 2022 would expire in 2024. So, he either has a year or 2 (depending on the length of his pro-deal signed last summer) and either way, he still has a contract with us for next season. We have to move heaven and earth to keep the likes of Doyle and Ballard here, in my opinion. Otherwise what's the point in having the academy.

Doyle signed a contract last summer. He can't just walk out and is under contract. Not comparable to Morgan.

We've also lost others since SR took over. Danny Butterfield left. The U18s manager (Mikey Harris?) left. Vincent Bartram (academy goalkeeper coach) left after 12 years. Im sure there are others as well whose names and roles have escaped me. All points to complete clusterfuck behind the scenes, and people are leaving left right and centre.
