Burnley have only let 9 goals in this season compared to our 36. Who's second string?

Saints beating Man U 6-3 as the United players couldn't see each other, according to Fergie.

I will have to cheer on Spurs for my Dad tonight. His mate, Len Duquemin, was the first Channel Islander to play big time football when he joined Spurs in Division 1 in 1950. I can picture my Dad with his chair pulled up to a tiny black and white TV screen to watch Spurs in the FA Cup final. They had already won the League. He had 2 bottles of beer by the side of his chair and a signed photo of Len on top of the TV. He had the sound on the TV turned down and had the radio on as he reckoned the wireless, as it was called then, gave a better commentary. A football fanatic and a great Dad. Come on you Spurs!!!

You are wise not to use Wickes. My daughter and son-in-law chose Wickes and not only were the units not fit for purpose for a busy family kitchen but they also had the installers from Hell. The job which was booked for 8 working days took over 3 months. Wickes after sales service was pathetic. Once they have your cash they are not interested. The Area Manager reluctantly came to have a look and was appalled at the 18 fitting errors. For example, the extractor fan was not fitted using the pack provided but by strips of duct tape. We eventually had a lovely installer from Wickes who righted all the wrongs but we wouldn't use them again. I have friends who have used Wren without any problem.

Perhaps Juric doesn't want him because Armstrong has shown himself to be, at best, a Championship player. Juric may be looking long term and feels that although AA would be ok for us next season, if we managed to get promoted at the end of that season, we are back to square one where AA is concerned. We must learn from our mistakes and sticking with AA when we know his capabilities would be pointless. I like the fact that Juric is thinking long-term.

Just up SR's street.

I always feel there is a sarcastic side to Pep. He may have been smiling when he spoke about Martin but deep down, he was thinking what a prat. You always know when Guardiola is under pressure, he reaches for his water bottle. He's drunk a lot of water this season, has Pep.

He was a character and no mistake, as was Grobbelaar. Are there any characters like this in today's football?

Dave Beasant! If I remember rightly, when he was Chelsea's goalie, he gave a masterclass of comic proportions by scoring 2 own goals. He was on the transfer market pretty quickly after that. Cue Southampton! 😀

Southampton are blacklisted after selling them Fraser Forster. He has been a calamity this season.

Respect!!!

It's been a disaster all round. How much easier for an SEN pupil to go to their local Primary and Secondary schools and get an education tailored for them with the specialist teachers and resources on site. They can go to school with their siblings and friends and be like everyone else. Instead they are sent miles to be educated and at an enormous cost which is desperately needed elsewhere. I don't understand why politicians can't see that.
-
I grant you that the Tories did nothing during their years in Government but State schools have been declining for longer than 14 years. In an ideal world mainstream schools should have the necessary funding for specialist teachers and resources on their staff to teach the SEN children they have. There would be no need to send these children to private specialist schools, with the eye-watering fees being paid for by the local authority. Councils could use that money for other needs in the area. I have 2 grandchildren with SEN issues. They began their education at the local Primary but within a couple of years they were going to specialist schools. My 15 year old grandson is autistic and my 11 year old granddaughter has dyslexia. Neither of their Primary schools had the teachers or resources to provide them with an education and every child is entitled to that. Both have their fees of around £20,000 a year each plus transport costs of £900 each a year, paid for by the County Council. Times that by the thousands of SEN children in the country and the cost is astronomical. The sad thing is that these children could have received their education for nothing if only the Governments' had had the foresight to fully staff and resource their State schools.

There's a faint glimmer of hope in the games played since Juric arrived. Bednarek and Fernandes scored a good goal apiece against Newcastle. He's on a hiding to nothing, really. Taking over a team with zero morale and in a dire position at the foot of the table. If anyone departs before next season I would prefer it to be SR.
-
Thank you. I got slated for posting that, as a long standing supporter, I have never felt so totally despondent as I do now. Yes, the administration, Branfoot years etc were painful but I remember still having a faint glimmer of hope that things would improve. For me, SR are the worst owners we have had. Their managerial appointments and the money wasted on players like BBD under their ownership has put is where we are now. I have been used to totting up the points to avoid the drop but this is on a whole new level. I will still support Saints but SR have drained all the pleasure out of it for me. A total rebuild has to start with SR leaving St. Mary's and allowing the club to collect what few shreds of dignity we have left in order to move forwards.

I agree. They will be smarting after that defeat at home from Bournemouth and looking to revive the momentum they had before that game. Then along comes Southampton, right on cue!
-
Oh those happy days.
-
Leicester are sliding down the League faster than a greased ferret. RVN's post match interviews all mention players not giving 100%. Ipswich and Wolves may be teetering but they do put up a fight.
-
The original post said 'we' had scored in the last 2 games when, being picky, 'we' hadn't, Ugarte had.
-
Oh it won't take as long as that. If we don't get a result against Ipswich on 1st Feb then we will be facing the inevitable. After that match we will have 5 games before 29th March, the date Derby County were relegated with 11 points, to try to salvage some shreds of self-esteem. The problem is those teams are Bournemouth, Brighton, Chelsea, Liverpool and Wolves. With the exception of Wolves, all the others have their sights set on the Premier League title, Champions League places and European football. I can't think Southampton will stop them in their tracks.
-
I think you will find the 'goal' we scored at Old Trafford was an og by Ugarte.
-
I agree with you. I took my grandson to the cinema this afternoon. Two men behind us were discussing football and said Notts Forest could go 2nd if they won 13-0 and as they were playing Southampton there was every chance. I don't mind a bit of stick but it's bloody relentless now.
-
I am taking my teenage grandson to the cinema to watch A Real Pain which may be what the spectators will be feeling too.
-
Man U booed off their home ground at half time and were second best for most of the game. Once Dibling came off injured the dynamics changed. Juric's substitutions finished the game entirely. I couldn't see the point of them and would have rather he had left the team as it was. They had played so well. KWP played his part in Amad's first 2 goals and THB, who had played well, just didn't concentrate enough and put a hattrick on a plate for Amad and a final score line which flattered United.

When Armstrong came on my heart sank. I didn't hear his name mentioned from then to the final whistle. Therein lies the reason, coupled with playing out from the back which we made another balls up with tonight, for the reason we are where we are.
