Mateta will be through our defence like a knife through butter. As usual, I shall hope for the best. expect the worst and hope this break has Juric coming up with an inspiring line-up.

Nothing strange about my remark. You quoted that Che Adams has a rather unfortunate habit of not looking remotely dangerous bear to goal and that quote caught your eye. Anyone who has watched him in a Saints shirt is well aware of that. And for those just realising, as you put it, then where on earth have they been during Che's time with us. By the way, I am also a Saints fan.
-
And you have just realised this?

Agreed. The father in Adolescence thought everything was fine as his son spent a lot of time in his room. He knew where his son was, so that was good in his mind. In reality nothing could have been further from the truth. Life today with social media is a huge learning curve for parents.
-
I haven't always been Gareth Southgate's biggest fan but the theme of his Richard Dimbleby lecture was very relevant. Adolescence, the current drama on Netflix, shows in graphic detail how a family's life is destroyed when their 13 year old son is arrested for murder. This isn't the stereotypical, dysfunctional family on a feral council estate. This centres around decent, hard-working parents just trying to do their very best with a son doing well at school. It is a sobering watch and it shocks because it truly could happen to anyone with young boys and men in their family. Gareth Southgate didn't pull any punches when he said that in today's society these young males have no role models. Nobody to look up to and admire. Nobody to inspire them. Instead they have toxic influencers like the Tate brothers filling their impressionable minds and grooming them at a vital stage of their development with their opinions on women. If that is the future for our teenage boys and young men then heaven help us all. Who would you choose as a role model for the young men in your lives?

Those 2 drive me mad. Scouse this, that and the other. Glad their quadruple season has dwindled to a single.
-
He's made a bloody good job of doing exactly that to our club. I was wired up in resus yesterday and I'm certain this cretin is responsible for it.

Better than that cheating diver Nunez parading around with the trophy.
-
Who would want to come here for the few remaining games of the season? Saints are too far gone now for any hope of escaping the drop. Let's put up with Juric but he must go as soon as the season is over.
-
You'll be pleased to have Bazunu and McCarthy back in goal then, next season. Does Matron know you're out?
-
Not even to see Sugawara play hand tennis?

Last Saturday's most certainly was soft. Nunez was felled to the ground by Will Smallbone's breath on the back of his neck. Instead of awarding a penalty the ref should have shown Nunez a second yellow and sent him off. I was absolutely delighted to see Nunez make a right balls up in the penalty shoot out to send the Scousers out of the Champions League. Karma!!!
-
Good old Karma! Nunez missing his penalty. Lovely picture of him on the back page of the Sun. Looks every inch the cheating prat that he is.

And the reason why our players are embarrassingly unfit.

As much as I enjoy watching football and would have watched the West Ham v Newcastle game last night, knowing he was giving his 'expert' opinion spoiled it for me, so I didn't watch it. I hope he doesn't become a regular. I would prefer Clinton Morrison to him and that's saying something.
-
Simon Hooper is the ref for this one. Let's hope he isn't a secret Wolves supporter.
-
He's ratty that Leicester are keeping us company.
-
Absolutely, so Smallbone should have used his loaf and given Nunez even more room to miss the net. There would have been no need for VAR, maybe, just maybe, Nunez would have been shown a second yellow for diving and there would have been no call for a penalty.
-
Smallbone should have held back instead of making a clumsy attempt at tackling Nunez because he collapses to the pitch at the slightest touch, especially in the penalty box. Left to his own devices, Nunez would have missed the net anyway. I think I saw stats that has Nunez as the most wasteful for goalscoring attempts. Liverpool have had a charmed season. No injuries to their significant players and the teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Spurs and City, that Liverpool would expect to have breathing down their neck for the League title, have all had a poor season. Let's see where they are next season if Salah, Alexander-Arnold & Van Dijk don't sign new contracts.

You wouldn't fancy a seat on the Board? Your suggestions usually make a lot of sense and we need bucketloads of that in the Boardroom to avoid any more chaotic and clueless appointments.

This post puts our woeful, aimless season in a nutshell.
-
It does you good to look back and enjoy some of the good times and we have had them. In the days of video recorders, I had an MLT best goals video and would watch that from time to time. A lot of our team are Championship level, at best, so those who stay should hopefully be able to hit the ground running next season. My concern is that if we won promotion then we will be back to square one. I want SR to have a long, hard look at themselves and the woeful decisions they have made with both managerial appointments and buying players, resulting in the depressing and embarrassing season we have had to endure. I don't want them sitting back, if the team are doing well in the Championship, thinking what a great job they have done and doing more of the same. That will condemn Saints to Championship football for the foreseeable or, at best, yo-yoing between the Premier League and the Championship. You want us to feel a lot better about next season and hopefully we will but SR have a major part to play in keeping our spirits up by bringing in experienced and capable managers and strengthening and improving the team with the players we need if we are ever to enjoy being a fixture of Premier League football again.

Now what other club does that remind me of?
-
I hope our best players don't stay. They deserve to be at a club which is run effectively from top to bottom. Owners, with the club as their top priority, managers, who can improve their fitness levels and encourage them in developing their footballing ability in the environment of a well run club. They most certainly won't get that at Southampton with the current regime.

Even that numpty Nunez, who couldn't score in a brothel, will be looking forward to this one.
