early days but when you compare RMs first training session video to Nathan Jones they seemed worlds apart. RM straight into technical aspects and the drills seemed far more what you'd expect for high level football. Like I say early days but Im getting better vibes already with RM.

I think he lacks hunger and passion for the game. Yes some players look more casual than others but the mystery over his first six months at club and the last 4-5 months suggests he's not overly committed. Might not be related to being at saints but more so an overall personality thing. He's incredibly shy or was previously I recall reading somewhere and maybe the spotlight that comes with playing high level football doesn't suit him. Even making himself available for Ghana selection seemed like a chore.

We won't sign anyone until we trim the bloated squad. Could mean we miss out on targets but we are in difficult situation with the squad size and wage bill. If we holding out for big money on sellable assets then it could be a long summer

There is a big difference in getting the ball forward under Jones than say under Martin. People ideally want to see nice football but with an actual attacking purpose and ambition rather than mind numbing passes that go nowhere other than backwards/sideways

It wouldn't surprise me if JWP stayed. I don't think he will have the choice of clubs he would desire because of our asking price. He's just not top of list for most clubs.

It is an underwhelming appointment on the surface but I am really hoping RM can give us a pleasing on the eye identity if nothing else. For too long now watching saints has been really boring especially at SMS. Ultimately RM will be judged on league position but if we have a swashbuckling team then at least SMS may find its voice again.

Actually it's a club problem because matchday revenue is more important in the championship plus the knock on effect with regards to retail sales as well need to be taken into account. I'm pretty sure a winning team albeit boring to watch won't sell out SMS in the championship. A winning team that plays nice football much more likely.

I think it's important because it has knock on effect with regards to atmosphere at SMS. The club already go out their way to accommodate the away fans so by muting the home support because of mind numbing style of football being played just gives further advantage to the away side and our home record in recent seasons backs that up.
