Harrison Reed - Official: Signs for Fulham

Be seriously underwhelmed if Reed ends up being PEH replacement. There is a reason why so many managers have let him go out on loan. He's probably better than PEH in terms of passing efficiency but he's not the dynamic box to box midfielder we need to play in a 4-2-2-2 system. -
Apparently just waiting on saints to decide when biggest impact on social media will be

More likely the contracts will wait until they come back for preseason training I think.

80-90% done according to quote from family spokesman to Ghana radio. https://kickgh.com/more/ghanaians-abroad/10261-mohammed-salisu-move-to-southampton-is-80-to-90-percent-done-family-spokesperson#

Apparently salisu has rejected the chance to represent Ghana so far.

Maybe he's in quarantine at an apartment in Ocean village

I'm guessing we getting a bargain in kwp and a good fee for PEH?

We have a healthy trading relationship with Sampdoria so could have legs this one

Redmond is so effective when taking on a defender but it can be frustrating watching him turn back on himself or slow the attack down, it's needless as he's so good with ball it his feet. That said he is crucial to how we play and I don't get the OTT negativity towards him

I think Everton are stupid enough as there midfield is awful so more likely to pay what we are after. Even PEH would improve there midfield but what a come down for him after saying he wants CL. It will be about the "project" in a save face interview. They would probably double his current salary so I'm sure he be ok. -
Interesting piece in The Athletic comparing McCarthy , Gunn and Forster. Subscribers can access - https://theathletic.com/1926950/2020/07/20/mccarthy-gunn-and-a-6ft-7in-elephant-in-the-room-southampton-keepers-analysed?source=user-shared-article Basically saying McCarthy good with hands and commanding on crosses but less effective with the ball. Gunn good with ball but shot save percentage one of the poorest in league. Forster had technique issue before being dropped. Taking off from wrong leg and too tall when one on one leaving big gaps inside legs and outside.

Everton would be my guess. -
Saints vs Brighton - Build-up Thread
The Curse of St Mary's replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Arguably Brighton even bigger test in terms of can we play on front foot with lion share of the ball against a defence that sits deep? Ralph indicated he likes having less of the ball so we can play on the counter attack utilising our high press. Hopefully we can take our recent form and confidence and really take game to Brighton. Might be frustrating at times but as long as we stay patient I'm sure we can find a way through. Tempted to rest a few ready for Sunday. Ings looked jaded at times last night but I think he has to start as Brighton is golden opportunity to get on score sheet. All 3 remaining games are too be fair. Smallbone, PEH and Long in maybe for Adams, Armstrong and Romeu -
Bournemouth know they will lose at city but they need to protect there GD which means they will have to put a shift in on weds rather than just write it off and save themselves for us on sunday. Watford also have to play city so GD could play big part. More motivation for us to kill off any hope they may have and send them down

Moussa, Valery, boufal and tella still out. Vestergaard maybe on bench.
