  1. He's on ridiculous wages so it makes sense plus he's average at best. He's not a dependable keeper by any stretch. However the handling of GK situation by club has been a shambles. Not announcing McCarthy contract very bizarre.
  2. Extra time good for saints. Liverpool might only score 4 or 5 Tuesday instead 😬
  3. Firstly I am astonished Ralph has allowed players extended time off rather than use the time to try and fix the ongoing shitshow. It's not as if they haven't been on holiday last couple months!!!! If we play a back 4 then we will be playing right into Liverpool's hands. Leaving two centre backs exposed too mane/Salah/Jota (firmino/Diaz) is just mental when our fullbacks are too far upfield to recover their positions. Has to be 5-4-1 for me. Midfield has to offering some protection. Forster KWP Perraud Stephens (at least he tries) Salisu Lyanco Romeu JWP Stu Redmond Adams
  4. If club has any ambition they would buy the following: New #1 GK 2x CB (sell bednarek) CDM 2x attacking midfielders (sell moussa and one other) 2x strikers (say goodbye to Long?
  5. Ralph has some serious tactical flaws but the players have let him down massively. Even now Ralph is taking the brunt of it and trying to shield the team from outside criticism despite players clearly downing tools. They are not responding to him so effectively he has lost the dressing room. I'm sure they are not buying into his tactics but there is also more to it than just that imo. This bunch of players have no mental toughness and give up at first sign of adversity. Pretty shocking state of affairs all round. New owners need to get a grip and sort the mess out.
  6. If you read article it states saints could do quick deal if they offer similar wages to what Che Adams and Adam Armstrong are on. Seems abit of a weird one as you'd think he'd command much bigger wages than those two imo
  7. Dread to think what Liverpool are going to do to us. We are a mess. It's not an over reaction to think that Liverpool could easily put more than 9 past us based on how badly we are playing. No organisation at all.
  8. Need to play players who have something to prove. Slim pickings I know but likes of bednarek, broja, Armstrong, romeu and elynoussi need to be dropped. Arma certainly has a point to prove but I have doubts he can cut it at this level. Redmond maybe going through a contract dispute or something but I would play him. Tella needs to kick on with his career he's not a breakthrough player anymore. Salisu hopefully benefited from being dropped to clear his head. Diallo is a good player and deserves more game time but I don't think him and jwp particularly compliment each other very well so Diallo is going to be the fall guy in that scenario in Ralph's eyes. Either way these gutless performances are embarrassing the club and fans so needs sorting out.
  9. Same with Jack Stephens. 15 months appx that it was reported by the Athletic, then we lost to Brentford in league cup and nothing since from what I gather.
  10. To be honest it was a dreadful game and saints were fortuitous to get through based on chances created. Bristol looked a level above but will rue hitting post, one off the line and our keeper making a fine save. Tricky right winger gave our left back a tough time. The two centre backs and keeper looked decent for saints. We seem to lack any form of pace in attack. Passing in final 3rd was awful. I'm not sure what I was expecting to be honest, perhaps too much. Can't say I'll be rushing to go again anytime soon. Fair play to club £3 a ticket and kids go in free drew a good crowd but didn't stop us leaving at 90 mins.
  11. Random 👀
  12. Adams and broja upfront. Maybe go with 3-4-1-2 or similar. Use Redmond wide right as he offers natural balance and will offer some defensive protection. Perraud looks poor to me from what I've seen so far but we do need balance so maybe he plays wide left and then Armstrong behind Adams and broja.
  13. Yes he's being played out of position but he offers nothing. We lose all natural balance out wide. Maybe Ralph had one eye on Tuesday but taking off Redmond for Armstrong put us even more on back foot. Same against spurs. Eventually Ralph brought Redmond on which gave us much better balance.
  14. If you look at previous tweet by account
  15. Twitter account who was right on Tino and Small states we are trying to make statement signing -
  16. Interesting comments from Oli Lancashire. https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/football-news/southampton-academy-hasenhuttl-u23s-form-5981193 Reading between the lines it seems he's suggesting that there is a conflict of opinion on how the B team follow the playbook versus finding ways to win. I can tell you from experience of coaching my lads team, getting smashed every week has a detrimental effect on player development. Even the better players lose confidence. A player will more likely fulfil potential when confident and happy to be playing. I can imagine a lot if these players are dreading the next game.
  17. 0-4 horseman has to go. Confidence is so important for development. These players are going to be mentally broken playing under him.
  18. The ticket prices seem high but I know how we compare to other similar stature clubs in PL. They wanted £70 for me and my two lads under 11 to watch the two preseason games which I felt was insane. The attendances in those games would appear to back my opinion up. Club will end up doing deals I think as the amount of empty seats is alarming. Cost of living is going up and will continue to rise. I'm out of pocket by appx £800 per year in last week alone just because of NI and energy bill hike.
  19. Would have been ridiculous to have lost that but we still look so weak at the back. Hopefully Lyanco can improve us. Armstrong wasnt in the box on the end of crosses as he was delivering them so he was quiet today. Romeu wasn't great. Redmond had an impact.
  20. Maybe another opportunity to get an up and coming CDM/CM from one of the glamour academies like we have done with Tino and Small? Not sure we will have much money to get more experienced player that will be better than Stu playing in that position.
  21. I know Ralph said he's "happy" with his GK options (obviously bullshit) but it would be the icing on the cake to get a decent GK. What's more it wouldn't break the bank. Sam Johnstone is an upgrade and I think £10m was the asking price so that's a no-brainer for me.
  22. Apparently so
  23. Haha there ticketing system having a mare
  24. What was the attendance yesterday out of interest?
