What about Jim McCalliog? Did he join us from United? [Then going on to undo their defence with a sublime through ball to Bobby Stokes on 1st May 1976...]

As did Danny Wallace

From Wikipedia: Lancashire made his first-team debut against Queens Park Rangers on 14 September 2008, but was sent off after 29 minutes, for a rash tackle on Damien Delaney. Looks like with Lancashire on-board, we can produce a whole new generation of 1st team debut dismissals like Alex Jankewitz. #SouthamptonWay

Yes, that's right. Andrew Crofts has been guiding their U23 team as an overage player for the past few seasons.

Not to mention the other, younger players we released at the end of last season, all of whom will have made some savings in terms of wages (albeit probably not to the degree above): Agbontohoma, David OsaretimDefise, Lucas Nsiona KKpohomouh, PascalLatham, Kingsley FinnLedwidge, Kameron MalcolmMorris, James WilliamO'Connor, Thomas JamesScott, Tommy John -
Perhaps this is why we put our pursuit of Armstrong "on pause"...?

Mario Lemina - Official: Signs for Nice

So Nice announce the signing of Lemina with a highlights reel that contains nothing from his time at Saints?! Says it all really... -
Anyone know what time kick off is? Or what the score is, if we're underway?

A genuine birthday commemoration from the club or a highlights reel to drive up his price?? Happy birthday Danny Ings!! Happy Birthday, Danny Ings! | Southampton FC

I wonder if he's got a knock. Maybe we need to get out into social media land and spread this as a rumour anyway to make potential suitors think twice?

"has a clear pathway to the first team" - he's seen Stephens and Bednarek play then...

To be fair, he far outshone our CMs when West Brom beat us 3-0 towards the end of last season...

From the Express article on Brighton's interest in Odsonne Edouard: Celtic have been linked with a renewed bid for Southampton’s Fraser Forster but that looks extremely unlikely - with a new contract offer on the table. The former Hoops keeper, was sold to Saints and then had a successful loan spell back, is in the final year of his contract but has been offered an extension. The ex-England international would need to take a significant cut on his current earnings and as it stands the deal remains unsigned. Forster has forced his way back into the Southampton team under Ralph Hasenhuttl but is still competing with Alex McCarthy for the No 1 spot. The St Mary’s outfit could try to cash-in on Forster if he doesn’t sign but it would require a major financial commitment from Celtic over the next four years. It remains to be seen if they would pay the £2million fee and make him one of their highest earners over the next three or four years. Even then the other issue is that he would still earn more at Southampton while other suitors could also come to the table.

Palace, Brentford and Brighton all after Reiss Nelson - CHDAJFU? https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/15611770/arsenal-nelson-crystal-palace-transfer/

Weren't we linked with Freddie Woodman at the start of the summer? Maybe Fraser out, Woodman in is the plan?

Got friends who are Brighton fans and they were rating White as their third best CB last season, after Dunk and Webster (and that was before any links about him leaving - they probably think he's worse than Dan Burn now!! 😂). It's a large fee and I'm not convinced he'll be the defensive leader Arsenal really need.

That's an odd one. West Ham wanted £45m when United were sniffing around last year: West Ham 'ready to sell Issa Diop for £45m transfer fee' and raise funds amid Man Utd interest in defender (thesun.co.uk)
