He was saying it last week (bigger fee then) when others were saying Palace. Time will tell I guess but at least we can speak to the player now and we must be reasonably confident if we're arranging medicals etc.

Good point. Armstrong has done it on a cold week night in Stoke and Messi clearly hasn't. 😂

Sorry keyboard warrior, I made a mistake. I'll do better next time.

I can't remember who it was that posted it but they said it was always about money with Danny. Can only be this because it's not about European football (certainly not this season anyway!). Let's hope we re-invest the rumoured £30m wisely on at least 2 forwards.

The Inter Milan Ultras have apparently responded to the rumours of Chelsea trying to bring back Lukaku: I'm wondering if our 'lads' need to "wade in" on the JWP front? Perhaps along the lines of "A sustainable club makes us mightily peeved" or something equally as threatening?

Wrong thread...

SSN saying Arsenal have lodged a player/s plus cash bid for James Maddison. I wonder if that includes Ainsley Maitland-Niles, as I'm sure I recall Leicester being reported as interested in him (like us) earlier in the window.

If he came in as the attacking midfielder and Armstrong dropped in as an alternative no. 6 maybe this could work. I always feel we lose something when Stu isn't playing as a no. 10 though. Oh god, no. 6, no. 10 - I've gone all "Ralph"... 🥴

Mateusz Pereira 'speaking out' after his effort has been questioned at WBA ahead of a possible move 'somewhere'. Are/were we ever interested?
-
Spurs after Conor Coady. Not a surprise with Nuno now in charge, I guess.

Sour grapes, saving face or genuinely not arsed? Interesting reaction from the Brighton press about missing out on Livramento... Chelsea wonderkid's decision to snub Brighton for Southampton is a sign of club's growth - SussexLive

So, one of their own has done a Virgil? Clearly, he fancies joining Grealish at City more than another trophyless season at Spurs then. This might kick-start the transfer window, if he gets his way. And might even mean someone actually makes a bid for Danny.

Villa paid us £15 million for our second choice left-back and, whilst Matt Targett has gone on to do well for them, JWP would be worth way more than £25m based on Targett's valuation.

Ben White has now completed his move to Arsenal. It'll be interesting to see who Brighton splurge the cash on (I bet the prices have gone up for whoever they want...).

He did well to bring it back from this rather bizarre start to his career... 😂 BBC NEWS | England | Hampshire | Footballers charged with burglary

Leicester look like they may make a move for Pereira at WBA, someone who I thought might be a good fit for us. But, as Ralph said when talking about our interest in Castagne last summer, if Leicester are involved for a player we also want, we can pretty much forget about him...
-
Seems like Spurs are looking elsewhere? Usually when they want one of our players, the leaks to the press are incessant... Tottenham want to partner Harry Kane with Fiorentina's £50m rated Dusan Vlahovic and are also interested in Crotone forward Simy (Daily Telegraph).
