  1. Overseas bidders - permission to hurry up and buy the club, granted!
  2. Having re-read the article in non-panic mode, yes I can see what you're saying, as it does appear the Beeb have put a nasty spin on what was said. In the first instance they're intimating it's all over but the end they're talking of other prospective bidders. Nonetheless, I have a feeling that this isn't just squeaky bum time but a full-on toilet assault!
  3. Rupert Lowe ate club hamster
  4. B*llocks indeed. It's such a surreal feeling donating money to pay those who are paid more in a month or 2 than I am in a year. I tell myself it's to save the club but in reality it's to subsidise those whose lack of pride and footballing inadequacy places us in League 1 next year.
  5. Talks continue... Fry: Ok chaps, 9 mill for the club, stadium, train picture & everything else. Pinnacle: how about 8 mill? Fry: the creditors say 9 Pinnacle: come on, 8? Fry: 9 Pinnacle: 8 Fry: 9 Pinnacle: 8 Fry: 9 Pinnacle: 8 several hours later... Fry: 9 Pinnacle: 8 Fry: 9 Pinnacle: 8 end of day... Fry: 9 Pinnacle: 8 Fry: 9... oh, is that the time? Gotta be off now, good days work there chaps. Same time tomorrow...?
  6. And being a natural right-back, it would allow James (if still here) to move into his more natural midfield position. Now, if we could just sort out the takeover thing, we can get cracking - now there's good chaps...
  7. Is that a measure of confidence in your source or because further delay would tip you over the edge?!
  8. Ah, ok. I hope your source/friend is correct!
  9. Seriously?
  10. Is this from a source/friend, club texts or football texts from ITV/Clubcall/phone network? I need hope dammit!
  11. Fingers crossed it will be because he's been summoned to SMS for smiley photos as the prospective new chairman of SFC. And not in a desperate bid to help resurrect a failing bid (as the other rumour(s) floating around seem to hint). I logged in, in the vain hope of some great Friday news, just for once, but I fear we're on the brink of either another disappointment or worse, news that talks have not proved successful.
  12. Cheers for the info WS. I'm sure, short of a mega billionaire with a fixation on buying world class players taking us over, this will be for the best.
  13. Definitely one to hold on to, if finances allow. Think he'll be an integral part of our midfield next year (if we make it that far!).
  14. If we're on life support, does this mean we can go back to 1982, Ashes to Ashes style, and revisit the joys of Keegan, Moran, Williams, Armstrong, Ball, Holmes et al?
  15. 2 o'clock is the end of our lunchbreak and therefore our own internet usage time! Do I risk a further 10 minutes (& showing up on a report) in case of salvation or do I wait until the end of the working day??? Such dilemmas...
  16. I'm sure I read somewhere that Fry (or it might even have been Wotte) said that 2 parties dropped out once we'd been relegated. With affection like that for the club, it's probably a good thing they did...
  17. I was thinking the same but, I guess, if the administrator is aware of another imminent bid, he has a duty to the creditors to see what that has to offer before accepting the first bid, acceptable or otherwise. I guess it all boils down to who is offering the most pounds, shillings and pence.
  18. Would be great news if true (the buyout not the Surman deal); it will be interesting to see what money they're bringing to the table, if they're willing to let Surman go for a fairly low sum.
  19. Just like that guy Spencer someone who tried to buy Aldershot. AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM!!!
  20. Nothing on the Sky Sports website yet. Anything further on SSN?
  21. Found this article on Strode-Gibbons dating back to August 2008. Thank goodness he never really managed to formulate a bid or we could've gone bust too! Oh... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/2794539/Credit-crisis-one-year-on-How-sub-prime-put-a-stop-to-Go-Business.html
  22. Can't find them on the Times rich list, so they won't do. Cross them off Mark and concentrate on the (hopefully) fabulously rich household name person/consortium!
