  1. Agreed happened right in front of me and it did hit his arm. I also shouted handball, although when the ref blew, I was about to curse him as I thought the lino had given offside *****il he put his flag across his chest).
  2. Davis Thomas Jaidi Trotman Harding Lallana Hammond James Holmes Waigo Lambert Subs: Bart, Perry, Mills, Schneiderlin, Mellis, Saga, Paterson
  3. Sounded desperately poor - especially against 10 men. Need width yet we leave out a fit again Holmes? Getting a little concerned whether Pardew is able to shape a winning team - 12 games without a win at Charlton (I think?) and now 6 more here. Not panicking but concern levels rising given our points handicap start...
  4. Hmmm, another 7am call to login to the OS... I wonder if it'll be a surprise signing or the big Tunisian defender we're all expecting!!
  5. I hope you're right but I've a feeling it'll be Jaidi. IMO, we've registered him as a Saint in time but we're awaiting completion of a formality (i.e. work permit, leave to remain, international clearance) before confirming it. As for the twitter teaser - let us not forget the feed they sent out encouraging us to login at 7am one morning to find out our latest signing only to discover it was Graeme Murty, who'd been on trial with us anyway...
  6. Right - handing the computer over to the wife now. Cue mega million pound signings... (please?!)
  7. So the Jaidi signing - it's now a when not an if? (Clings to hope of any signing desperately...)
  8. If we have done a deal, it will have been done at 4.59 and 59 secs, in typical Saints near to the knuckle style!
  9. So is this something you know (and are perhaps willing to share a name) or just positivity far beyond that of the average Saints fan?!
  10. Davis Murty Thomas Trotman Harding Lallana Schneiderlin Hammond Holmes Lambert Saganowski Bialkowski, Perry, Gobern, Gillett, Mellis, Paterson, Rasiak.
  11. 6 is free or is that too sensible?!
  12. Wouldn't blame Dean Hammond picking up the phone and pleading to stay at Colchester based on tonight's inept showing. AP keeps telling us there's much to do and he's too f**king right. Now, if you'd like to check your shopping list AP, assuming Hammond does sign, make sure you underline centre half, winger and pacy striker.
  13. Good job they put on a performance for us, like AP said, otherwise we'd be really annoyed.
  14. Very worried about this. Spoke to a mate of mine who supports Charlton and he said, when AP left them, they had 7 forwards and only 2 centre-backs and were leaking goals like a sieve. He kept saying they needed defenders but they never signed any. Don't want to criticise the fella given it's only been 3 games but this is sounding remarkably familiar...
  15. Saw him a couple of times at Brighton. Good player, hope this happens. Generally sits in front of the back four and directs play; good passer; good organiser and decent at set pieces. Tall as well, so helpful when defending corners. Wilkins made him captain at Brighton and, my Seagulls mates tell me, was very disappointed to lose him but they needed the fee as he was out of contract at the end of the season. Very surprised we've announced it before he's signed but it must be pretty much a done deal to have done so. I would hope he's not in the Colchester squad for tonight, if he's on his way to us? It would be just our luck for him to have a farewell appearance followed by a nasty injury!!
  16. Hopes to have 2 in before Brentford but not much activity thereafter as we have a big squad. This was pretty much the main point of interest.
  17. I think the "next week" he mentioned is now this week (if you see what I mean) so there's a bit of time for them to materialise yet!! Maybe we'll get some news once the Swindon match has passed.
  18. Don't they read this forum???
  19. Good. Hopefully a combative midfielder and a big centre-half!
  20. Johnnie Jackson is off to Notts County according to the Mirror today.
  21. Perhaps we could loan Pulis to P*mpey, they need a player or two...!
  22. To be honest, the whole thing just smacked of typical upper class English arrogance from Lowe. They're both Dutch, they're bound to be able to work together. When it became obvious they both had their own agendas, we began to suffer even more. Surely, if you were to hire two coaches from abroad, you'd bring in people who'd worked together before not just chuck people together and expect them to work in perfect harmony. Particularly not when you pick a guy you considered for the manager's position previously as the assistant! FWIW I quite liked JP but we're so much better off without Lowe (goes without saying really!), JP and Wotte.
  23. Home draw, always helpful. And another chance to have some fun at the expense of Mr Vodafone, Kevin Phillips.
  24. Could the "very close on one other" be the signing before the weekend and the talks with 2 today be the "big signings" the Times journalist mentions in the webchat mentioned in another thread???
  25. Great signing, if it all goes through. Hopefully, the first of a few as well. I trust he doesn't need a work permit?!?!
