  1. Both Jose and SDR are on 4 yellows but I'd be more concerned about them getting booked on Saturday. HTH
  2. Friday night game, last working day before Xmas, 1979, my first works ****-up as a 17 y-o apprentice. After getting barred from a couple of pubs in Town me and my mate jumped in the back of a small removals van full of Thornhill nutters at the Civic and went to Bristol. On the way up someone kicked the roller-shutter door off the back, it was freezing, uncomfortable and snowing. After beating City 1-0 (IIRC) we jumped on Foleys coach to get home, there were loads of us sitting on the floor and Clive wasn't happy but saw sense and got us home. So no, Foley's was a top coach that night.
  3. http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/videos/100903/norwegian-veterans-bohinen-fjortoft-lundekvam-and-myhre-get-electric-shocks-on-national-tv-video.html Sorry if this has been posted previously or is not fit for the main board but nice to see Claus playing again so I thought I'd share it. Wish that we had these last time we played at FP
  4. Hi guys across the pond from the western coast of Europe here. Give this link a go, it's 100% free with no sign up required. I fully expect the game to be shown live at 3pm GMT but as I said in another fred we'll have to wait and see for sure. It's worth bookmarking as it shows all the Prem games which of course will essential next season (fingers crossed) http://www.firstrowsports.tv/ Regards and HTH. COYMR !!
  5. From looking at the TV listings, The Football League Show late on Saturday night highlights our clash with B&HAFC. From previous experience this featured game is usually shown live on. http://www.firstrowsports.tv/ I haven't managed to work out how to look at the forth-coming matches but each days broadcast games are shown, so won't be able to confirm 'till nearer the time but have a look yourselves and see what a great site this is. HTH COYMR!
  6. I expect he took the long way round.......
  7. I think it says ''one team / (one) community'' HTH
  8. This is the one that everyone needs to bookmark....
  9. Thank you Saint Clark for the credit. As an exile in Portugal I've managed to keep my Sky Sports access and I'm able to watch everything I had access to at 'home' but for anyone out of reach of BBC etc this is a really great site as they show MOTD, TFLS, the League cup show and even MOTD2 along with about every televised game around the world. Every Prem game is shown live with one from the Championship every Sat at 3. So fingers crossed us ex-pats and arm-chair supporters will be watching every Saints game next season in the Prem. http://www.firstrowsports.tv/
  10. The Football League Show is stating coverage of DC v Saints on Sat. night so the game should be found on http://www.firstrowsports.tv/ I've found all the other main featured games on TFLS here, check on the day.
  11. I blame my best mate as he was given the job of installing the electrics to both screens, but in fairness it has lasted over ten years without fault, more than can be said for some of his work. (Joke Neil)
  12. Dropped some mates down to Lisboa airport this morning then back for my usual pre-match couple of pints whilst watching the Scousers. Got back just in time to hear us get the pen, Skates already losing.....could be a good day. BTW 34C here on the Silvercoast, Sunny as feck COYMR !!
  13. Always worth checking out Firstrow sports as the featured match on The Football League Show on Saturday night are always streamed and I expect we'll be a featured team many times this season (I watched some of WHU v the skates last sat). It also shows all the Prem games, MOTD, MOTD2 and TFLS.
  14. This afternoons game is being listed on-line as being available. Maybe the rights to it being shown abroad means it will be streamed after all, we'll know nearer KO. http://www.firstrowsports.tv/
  15. Sorry to hear that mate, hope they both make a full recovery.
  16. Think you'll be better off tuning in on Friday...k.o. 7.45 Sky Sports 1 HTH
  17. What about Eric Nixon? I remember being impressed with both him and Phil Kite...ok not in the class of the above but if Dexter can get a mention then so should these two. As already has been mentioned but the team in front of each keeper has a big bearing on their performances, Shilts would be having a quiet game and then save us (unlike the Poland game in '73) where as Flowers would be making save after save and his performance led to a record fee for a keeper (if I remember correctly) with his move to Blackburn. Even though he won the League and more England caps whilst there I don't think he ever regained the form he showed whilst with us but again with the team in front of him at BR the ball was in the oppositions half far more and he didn't get the constant workout he was getting at Saints. For me....Shilts....Niemi....Flowers....Wells
  18. Ok, tough first half.....lets see if we can keep up this amazing stat...................I fancy us to go on and win by three clear goals.
  19. Sorry if it's already been mentioned elsewhere but did our fantastic flag make an appearance against Leeds? Or do you think it will only be on display when the attendance will be low enough to warrant it being draped over empty seating. I realise that the flag has it's own thread but could someone summorise what are the plans of it appearance? I would love to think it would follow our great club all over the country and ultimately all over Europe so everyone can see what this one man means to us all. If he were still with us I don't think NC would have had to impose some of the unpopular charges that fans have had to endure over the last year as now I guess he has to be seen to be running SFC as a business and not a play thing as he now has to answer to the 'family'. If this is what it takes to keep the family on board then better that than have another RL or similar in charge or be sold off to a foreign 'chancer'. You only have to look down the road to see the error of that.
  20. If I remember correctly Burley was 'sold' to us on the fact he took Ipswich into the playoffs 5 times and got them promoted once, I know I wasn't alone in looking at this as failing 4 times out of 5. Remember those crazy car stickers ' In St George we trust'? The blind faith of football fans is priceless.
  21. I was talking to an old school Chelski fan last night who recalled something that I had heard from mates who were there. Back in Germany during Euro '88 he said that all fans of all clubs got on with each other except us / 'them' and NUFC/AFCS. He said both wouldn't even stand near each other on the terraces which he was amazed at and I know from my mates quite a few 'scuffles' occurred. He also recalled meeting a 'great bunch of Saints lads' who had got 'Ugly Inside' and our crest tattooed on their ass cheeks whilst there and had mooned for a photo for him. Anyone know of these lads?
  22. Pitch invasion was before the match and was mainly them, not that Saints weren't trying to join them and the attendance was well over 26K and probably all ticket so unlikely our numbers got anywhere near theirs. British Rail Football Specials....happy days!
  23. Nick Holmes scoring from the half-way line (ish) v Watford League cup Nick Holmes (again) scoring the goal of the game League Cup Final 1979
  24. Yes....More the merrier for all of us unable to be there in person but there in our hearts.
  25. Due to work my mate and I could only do the day trip but lots of our mates did the week. Late one night they were wandering around the city-centre looking for a 'night-club' when the old bill pulled up. 'Here we go' they thought but the OB were as good as gold and after explaining what they were looking for the OB recommended a place, I think they may have even given them a lift. Inside the 'night-club' there were quite a few 'single ladies' One mate took a shine to one of them and spent the rest of the evening talking, dancing and buying her drinks, He told me cos he was so rich out there and her being so fit, he was going to treat her like a 'normal' lady and was going to ask her to dinner next day, then go on out clubbing with her..a night off sort of thing. Later on, but still in the club, whilst he was back with our mates, suddenly one of the lads reappeared 'where have you been'? ask my mate. ' well you know that girl you've been talking to all night? Well I just took her outside and payed her for a bj' Needless to say he went off the idea of snogging her again, let alone buying her a meal.
