  1. Errr... because it's their star player that they don't want to sell. They hold all the aces in a situation like this and have us over a barrel. We don't meet their demands, no deal. Simple as that. Why would they go out of their way to sell a player they'd rather keep?
  2. Of course not. But it appeared Man Utd weren't interested when we were originally in for him. Their interest only seemed to come after this deal had been splashed all over the media.
  3. Buttner said the same thing. That hardly worked out...
  4. We did actually. We used to sell out every game in the Strachan era.
  5. McGoldrick at Preston - stoppage time winner after being 2-0 down Viafara and Rasiak at Derby in the play offs Any goal v the Skates. WHU - 90th minute winner on MNF 01/02 maybe? My legs were torn to pieces. Both FA Cup Semi goals Higginbottom penalty v Palace in our Premiership relegation season Camara v Norwich Beattie v Man Utd - last minute winner.
  6. Shame about this deal falling through, if current reports are to be believed. Weird that we've now had 2x deals - Buttner and Ramirez both fall through after players have publicly stated how they've agreed deals and can't wait to join. Starting to get the impression we're being used by agents to help promote their players. Buttner off to Man Utd now and wouldn't be surprised to see Ramirez move on to a big side as well now. Probably best we stick to snapping up the NPC team of the year.
  7. It was done to mock the City fans. It's ok when used for p1ss taking purposes.
  8. Arsenal also sold out. Maybe Londoners don't go on holiday?
  9. That's irrelevant. The fact is, we can't attract 6,000 non season ticket fans for our first home game back in the Premiership. We know we have at least 32,000 fans as we've filled the stadium before. Though as pointed out to me, virtually the entire South of England is on holiday that week.
  10. We'll have more than them put together.
  11. Complete and utter nonsense. So you're saying that there are currently so many people on holiday, we can't muster up 6,000 non season ticket holders to attend this game? Why are only Southampton fans on holiday at the moment? Plenty of other clubs have been able to sell out.
  12. At least we won't have to suffer the humiliation of the whole nation being able to see our empty seats, like we had to for the Man City game.
  13. Liverpool never made a bid. Would be strange if they came back in now considering the price has since gone up.
  14. Finger up the bum, no harm done.
  15. Given the god like status he's achieved on here, I'm quite surprised you haven't been invited to one of his dinner parties yet.
  16. I just feel sorry for those who couldn't be bothered to travel and opted to watch it on TV.
  17. He was posting how proud he was of the team on my Facebook last night.
  18. I rolled back in at midnight last night and first thing I did was watch our goals over and over again for about 20mins. Was strange leaving a game buzzing like that and having lost! Was worth the travel and the cost just for our 2 goal celebrations - pure mayhem.
  19. Always rated City fans in the past. A decent, proper set of fans. Though with the success they've had, they've got some right muggy little w*nkers that have come crawling out the woodwork. Plenty of day trippers with their megastore bags, snapping away with their DSLR camera's outside the ground. Seems they've become everything they spent decades mocking Man Utd for. Shame...
  20. Personally I would've started Lambert ahead of Guly. When I saw the team I assumed Guly out wide and J Rod up front on his own, which made sense to me. We'd be under pressure for long periods of the game and we'd look to hit them on the break with a bit of pace. Then when I saw Guly up front on his own, I was slightly baffled to say the least - drop our star striker so we could play Guly?! Didn't make any sense to me. We looked a far, far better side once Lambert and Davis came on. Still, if one player selection is the only thing to moan about after playing at Man City, it shows just how well we did.
  21. Thanks to your response it was done on an even more regular basis after that game. As for mocking the "camp wave", you have a demented, grown man in fancy dress who rings a bell for 90mins. I know what I'd rather. A few minor errors in your post; 1. I've seen numerous Skates wishing that the club would just go under so you can start again. 2. You do worry about how the world perceives you, hence you constantly harping on about being the best fans in the world. 3. You don't always dig in. You didn't sell out one single game during your 'Pack the Park' campaign in your hour of need. Did you even sell out a game last season, other than against us? 4. You have boo'd your players, managers and protested against your board in the past. 5. Your vomit inducing love-in with Henry was one of the most cringe-worthy things I've ever seen at a football game. Like a bunch of star struck 10 year old girls at a JLS concert. Makes our piped crowd noise incident seem almost ok. Oh and please stop with 'the whole world is against us' attitude, it's not necessary and a little bit embarrassing. You're a small club that are annoying the fellow small clubs in your league by repeatedly failing to live within your means. Other than us who find your whole situation hilarious, nobody is particularly bothered about your demise and nobody will really miss you when you're gone.
  22. Turkish/Dune - The next Keith...
  23. Were they in the NPC team of the year?
  24. We're going off topic now. The mongs are going to have a f*cking meltdown when they see this in the morning.
  25. What did the Hooper thread reach?
