  1. Do you know what would happen to the thousands of Jocks currently working in the military? Would they be kicked out? Offered English citizenship? Same deal as the Fijians and Gurkhas?
  2. Independence won't happen. Imagine the backlash when those living on benefits in their schemes are told they're going to be cut/stopped. The amount of benefits they would lose would be ridiculous. Uni fees, prescriptions, NHS etc. Think there was a poll done a while ago where the vast majority didn't want independence. Despite the chip on their shoulder about us, they know they need us.
  3. He was brilliant for us. He was like a Jewish Lallana.
  4. Is he as bemused as us as to why we paid £6m+ for him?
  5. I also travelled out there for this one with a fair few other Saints lads. None of us bothered to stay on for the re-arranged game and I was actually on my flight home when the game was being played. All we're getting back is a refund on our match tickets. I may not even get that as I got so wet, my ticket had turned to mush and I was scooping pieces of it out of my pocket and onto the floor of some Warsaw boozer - therefore I can send it off. Oh well...
  6. Tell them to turn that frown upside. A bigger stadium is on the way and there will be cheap tickets for all.
  7. If you have a Hibs mate, I'm sure you're well aware of their background. So obviously there will be no love lost there. I'm sure they will miss them when Sky cancel their contract as they've only agreed to defer it for now on the basis Rangers are back in the SPL in a few years.
  8. Is it an actual sell out or are there going to be loads of empty seats in the Itchen like Man Utd?
  9. I posted that on the wrong thread. Supposed to have been on the Charles Green thread! Ooops...
  10. By refusing to spell Japan with a capital letter, are you refusing to acknowledge that they are a country? I think the real question here is what do YOU have against the Japanese?
  11. So Charles Green talks about one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world joining a European Super League and he's branded deluded. Cortese talks about us gaining CL qualification and he's branded a visionary and a 'legend' for showing such desire? Hmmmm....
  12. Just look at the sheer volume of official supporters clubs they have listed world wide.
  13. That's not strictly true, Rangers and Celtic have some of the largest global fan bases in football. Whilst they're stuck down in Div.3 for now, give it a few years and all will be forgotten and order shall be restored up there. Oh and we are a small club in the grand scheme of things and fans of the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd probably do moan about playing us, like people on here belittled the likes of Yeovil, Bournemouth etc when we played them. He does have a point, though I'm not going to complain too much as we're financially benefiting off the work from the bigger clubs in English football. This comment did make me laugh though; “How can Manchester United’s revenues be £320million and Aston Villa, who are completely useless, get £250m?"
  14. But authorities have to be seen to be doing something on issues like this or otherwise the do-gooding loons of the world will bang on about how The FA are racist. Soon there will be a 'Kick it In' campaign to promote benders in football.
  15. It's quite clear that David James is a racist as well then. Racism is everywhere. Ince would've been manager of Man Utd years ago if he wasn't black. Look at Sol Campbell, he correctly predicted that black people would be assaulted and murdered at the Euros and John Barnes would still be playing for England if he was white.
  16. Family club is just a term used to describe a club that mainly has women and kids sat in the stands like statues and offer very little in terms of atmosphere or hostility. Basically a fan base that is just a bit 'soft'. Clubs like us, Fulham, Norwich, Charlton are perfect examples of this.
  17. Cheers, sweetpea. Some of the more prolific posters on here don't attend games, they just go by the 2 min highlights and post match interviews, then form their opinions. The ones that really crack me up are the people who text in to Radio Solent with their opinion of the game despite not attending.
  18. You're not allowed to have a differing opinion to VectisSaint. If you do, you're normally branded as knowing nothing about football.
  19. He wasn't great on Sunday but has impressed in other games. Left midfield isn't his position as he doesn't backtrack enough and leaves our LB exposed - but there is nowhere else we can play him when Ramirez is fit. Also, he isn't a captain - take the armband off him and give it to Morgan.
  20. Anyone know the last time we had two players out at the same time with dead legs? This wouldn't have happened if 'arry was in charge.
  21. We're all entitled to our personal opinions. Just because you don't agree with me, don't go accusing me of not knowing my stuff - a slightly immature stance to take. I've had many an argument with friends in pubs over players performances etc, it's how it goes, it's half the fun of having a beer after the game. I'm sure you've probably disagreed with things professional mangers have said in the past, are you trying to say they know nothing about the game as well? I 'met' Lee in Switzerland during pre-season (I know so little and care so little about my club I sat on a minibus for 35hrs to watch a pre season game) and said hello to him, he blanked the group and carried on walking whilst SDR stayed and had a chat with us. I'm aware Lee doesn't speak English but to smile and nod your head would've been nice. Then again, what do I know, you've already decided someone you've never met is a top guy. I think Yoshida is a great CB, so I'm really not too sure what you're waffling on about there.
  22. Missed an absolute sitter there as well.
  23. I've seen every game he's played for us and he's been average at best and missed a few sitters along the way. The usual comeback to this is "he's hardly played, unfair to judge him". Seeing as he's played so little, how do you lot know he's so good and how are we missing a player that has barely played for us?
  24. Urgh, my stalker is back.
  25. I'm afraid you lose the bet then, Gregorz. There is nothing more that annoys me than the classic English football fan mentality of that if they run around and try hard, despite limited ability, they're great players. This is effectively what Lee does, but I won't stop you from being a hypocrite. Carry on...
