I have to say, the abuse that alps gets on this forum is ridiculous. In my opinion he actually raises quite a few good points and I kind of agree with him here too. Alright, we're not going to win or lose the title this month but it will give us a good indication as to how we will fair against the 'top' teams (top meaning those expected to be top at the end of the season). Losing ground on those teams could come back to bite us at the end of the season. If you look at the premiership, when Man Utd play Chelsea, those two games can define their seasons.

Incidentally, Morrison's is the best for variety of quality beers I've found, despite it being a chavvy shop.

Welcome to last week! Still makes me laugh though whatever the context.

Although not strictly a 'northern game', we lost at Walsall last season too. The reason we lost at all those grounds last season is because those are the games my missus came too. she only ever saw us lose last season, she was going to come to the Oldham game but couldn't last minute and you saw what happened there. Rest assured I have taken the appropriate action and banned her for all northern games (we seem to win if she watches us play in the south). We we're going to go to Burnley but decided not to in the end, this probably made the lads have a bad performance for which I can only apologise.

I have to say I kind of agree with Alps on this one, weird or not. I perhaps wouldn't go as far to say that I want England to lose, just that I am so apathetic towards the England team. I have been ever since there have been no Saints players involved. I see just international games as boring encounters that mean I have to wait another week before Saints play again. I must admit I didn't even there were two England games, and only found out about the Friday game on Sunday (having now TV or internet in my new house yet doesn't help with this).
