  1. I played against the man himself in the Heathrow Village 5-a-side Tournament in the summer. We knocked his team out, he looked very much past his sell-by-date, he was blowing out his arse. He was also accompanied to the tournament by a rather orange looking, ageing WAG.
  2. He had a good game, but it was Saeijs MOTM for me, I though he coped with the aerial threat of Kuqi brilliantly, won some big headers.
  3. They've got their fair share of kids too, could get equally intimidated if the likes of Saeijs and Wotton fancy putting it about.
  4. LATEST NEWS: The entire Forbes Rich List are forming a super-consortium to buy Saints Yawn
  5. Pulis for top scorer in League One next season
  6. Being in my early 20's, some of the names mentioned go completely over my head. Mine, in no particular order would be: Darren Moore & Dean Lea****: for successfully getting Kenwyne and Bale off the pitch injured during the 1st leg of the playoffs Steven Bywater: as someone previously mentioned, for the shootout antics Arry: two-bob, ****ney **** Claridge: I remember him dancing infront of us when Millwall equalised in an FA Cup replay at The New Den and then us singing "Claridge, Claridge what's the score?" when we went 2-1 up in extra time Don Hutchinson: purely for a ridiculous dive when brushed slightly by Nathan Dyer in the box vs Cov, cost me £40 on what would have been a correct scorecast, had he not decided to throw himself to the floor when touched ever so slightly by a bloke who only came up to his knee Kev Phillips: his missus scored more than he did Jamie Redknapp: not a bad player but guilty by association and the fact that I despise the way he sits with his crotch on display on Sky, not to mention the dross he spouts as "punditry" Ian Wright: tit BWP: for being even more of a tit
  7. That's why in this country, players fade down the leagues as they get older, yet in Italy you have people like Paolo Maldini still playing at the top level at 40. It's a question of lifestyle and it's up to the club to enforce that.
  8. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article2213722.ece?OTC-RSS&ATTR=Football People shouldn't start getting carried away by this whole pizza thing. Some clubs have players who gorge themselves on jelly babies or jelly beans at half time. If they were eating like that every day, then I'd be worried.
  9. I played U18 Youth Level for Farnborough Town and Woking, non-league for Alton Town and AFC Wallingford, plus I saw a Dutch Eredivisie roundup on Eurosport once. Surely that qualifies me for a 3 year deal?
  10. If he's buttering up Hiddink it'd probably be for Franco DiSanto
  11. Maybe he was signed on a season long matchday mascot deal?
  12. I just saw Mohammed Kallon enjoying a "beer and burger" deal in the Giddy Bridge.
  13. Give Hatch a game
  14. After using Google language tools to translate the page, it's interesting to read the comments made on the article. Basically labelling Poortvliet a hypocrite due to the way he walked out on Helmond and saying that Wotte is arrogant and useless. Onwards and upwards eh?
  15. Indeed it is a completely different Pele. The one Pompey have signed is a young Portuguese central midfielder who joined Porto last year from Inter Milan as part of the Ricardo Quaresma deal. He hasn't got a game at Porto so has joined P*mpey on loan. As far as I know, the Pele we had is rotting in the ressies at West Brom.
  16. Hopefully he'll sign. Proven player in the Eredivisie and I seem to remember him having a decent game vs Arsenal in the Champions League Qualifiers when Arsenal went over to Holland and struggled for the most of the game, only for Twente to fall apart in the 2nd half. Oh and for what it's worth, he used to destroy defences at the highest level if you signed him in FM07 ;-p
  17. It's a sad way to end his tenure with the club and as many have already said he was a good guy with the right ideas, just completely the wrong environment in which to implement them. I don't blame him for taking the job, he was offered the chance to leave the Dutch 2nd division where the team's facilities and stature are more akin to the Conference and given the chance to manage in the Championship, a divison which is bigger than a lot of other countries in Europe's top divisions when you look at stature, facilities, attendances etc. It was a gamble to appoint him and a gamble to try and take on the Championship with a team of kids, even though there weren't a great deal of other options, but the cash used to sign Schneiderlin probably could have brough in 2 or 3 old heads instead. Ultimately messrs Lowe and Wilde are the only ones who should have any anger directed at them. I hope Jan finds work in Holland soon as he's a decent, honest guy who has the right idea about how football should be played, as we saw at Pride Park and The Madejski.
  18. Yes, he was a loan and yes I'd have him in there. Remember the goal vs Norwich?
  19. I don't think he'll feature, judging from these comments from Fergie: "We'll give him time. He's not played since December 10 so he'll need time to adjust and get used to the tempo of our game and also the training." And the club have also said the following: "A press conference will be held next week, once the necessary paperwork has been filed with the relevant football authorities."
  20. It'd surely be Perry and Lancashire at the back, would seem harsh to throw Kyle Davies in against them!!! On the subject of Kyle Davies, does anyone know if he's any good? I saw him vs Farnborough in the pre-season friendly, but couldn't really judge him from that. Been playing regularly for the ressies though hasn't he? Isn't Ryan Tafazolli quite highly regarded in the youth team? He's even younger but he's 6'5", so could be useful.
  21. Why are they both afraid of naming and shaming a bunch of petty theives? Why protect people who ended up putting both their careers in the balance? If they're the sort of twunts who go round stealing phones from handbags, they're hardly likely to be gun-toting underworld fiends are they? Idiots, they should be done for obstructing a police investigation.
  22. Has to be the triple save vs Arsenal. That was my 2nd fave game at St Mary's, still can't compete with Marian's goal vs the skates though!
  23. Hate is a strong word, but I do wish failure upon them and their vile fans. Steven Bywater is a tit aswell, but he's not even "good" enough to get in their team any more.
  24. We'll be a bit over-stocked in that position if he is going to be used there, Lallana and Euell are both capable of doing the job there. Whilst I'd like to see McGoldrick given a decent run this season, Stern John will still be useful purely for the fact that he has that knack of scoring.
  25. Don't forget the mighty Jay Lucas too...............
