I didn't realise they dished out MBEs to woman beaters, then I saw that Alan Knight received his before he slapped his missus about.

John Hartson (New update - good news)

To be honest, he was never a player I particularly liked, but he was a double-hard b@stard! Hopefully he can use that fighting spirit to overcome the disease, here's hoping he has a full recovery. -
I want to know more about this chicken leg!!!?!?!

Moritz Volz has been released by Fulham hasn't he? HCDAJFU

Boycott? A fall from grace and dismal performance after dismal performance would result in a slide in attendances at any club. Will Newcastle's smaller attendances next season be a "Mike Ashley boycott"? No, there will just be a load of glory geordies who can't be bothered to watch the barcodes play Blackpool, S****horpe, Plymouth, etc. Our fanbase, for once, has little or no reason to be divided. Let's not go looking for reasons to create a divide. Will you be wondering around the block where you sit this coming season questioning everyone with "Didn't see you here last season? Not expecting me to thank you are you? Pah" Shed your sad, little, pessimistic outlook and concentrate on the football, not meaningless fan politics.

Also, Canterbury's European operation is being wound up. Apparently Gaydamak had invested substantially and stands to lose a lot of money, shame. Also, not all of their kit has arrived due to said problem, perhaps that why only 15 players can train? Then they swap kit and another 15 train?

I've heard some whisperings of Dan Petrescu being in the frame. By all accounts, he seems to be doing pretty well back in his homeland: http://english.hotnews.ro/stiri-top_news-5815687-dan-petrescus-unirea-urziceni-wins-romanian-championship.htm

Tony Adams must be given a wide berth, he just isn't managerial quality at any level. The man sounds like he's just had a lobotomy.

Ronaldo signing for £80m, picking up a wage reported to be around £250k per week, kissing the badge at his unveiling (when it was well known he was more of a Barca fan as a kid) and then saying he's probably worth more. He is the greasy, little, goofy face of football's bloated wealth and complete lack of integrity.

Would you give eternal thanks to your dustbin man for removing your bin bags and stopping your house from being overrun with waste? Are you forever grateful to the mechanic who serviced your car for an extortionate fee? Are you indebted to a numbskull at a travel agents who sorted the booking for your latest holiday to Fuertaventura? No At the end of the day, Fry was just doing his job and he almost made a real hash of it. All the thanks he needs will be found in the nice, fat paycheque he'll get out of the Administrator's fee.

Markus, I'm in Schaffhausen in a few weeks time, will gladly buy you a beer if you're around. It's the least I could do! Oh and can we start selling Bratwurst at home games? -
I remember a fantastic 5-0 FA Cup win up at Anfield in 2013, to be fair, they gave Fernando Torres a decent reception before the game, as it was his first game back there since his £30m move to us following Liverpool's relegation with Jamie Redknapp at the helm..........

If the takeover had been done sooner, we could've got this fella in as manager: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciriaco_Sforza He's probably a useless gaffer, but he was one hell of a classy player
-
Type "Markus Liebherr" into google image and there's a link to this......... http://www.facebook.com/people/Sophie-Liebherr/749571146 Let's hope she's involved in some way

WINNER - Mark Fry, will be getting paid very handsomely out of this
-
Anyone else running out of patience with Fry ?

I have mixed feelings about the man. I appreciate what a hard task it must be for him, as securing the sale of a normal business in administration is a complicated enough proceedure but I imagine it's far more complex when the business involved is a football club, especially one left in the state that Lowe left us in. That said, he has at times appeared completely out of his depth. Anywho, as long as he sells the club rather than liquidating it, technically he's done his job (which I'm sure he will be paid handsomely for, having seen a few administrators bills in my time) -
Like I said in a previous post, he probably only came back to training for some fitness to earn a move elsewhere. To be honest, the good season he had is now well in the past, if you're going on his latest exploits.......... http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/bristolcity/news/John-deal-didn-t-work-admits-Bristol-City-boss-Johnson/article-986719-detail/article.html Even in League One, I'd rather not have him back, we need people with a higher work-rate.
-
He's certainly not a popular chap in York, rather worrying that the article says he is confident of completing a deal. http://www.thepress.co.uk/sport/yorkcityfc/4476321.John_Batchelor_in_bid_to_takeover_at_Southampton/

He won't be able to seal a move anywhere unless he's fit and in shape, that's the only reason he's back in training
-
Friday will come with great expectation, sod all will happen, we'll be told a deal is close but will take until early next week to complete all the legalities. Early next week will come, it'll rumble on a little longer and we'll all expect it'll be complete by next Friday. As some have said above, I can't believe people are writing the lad off before he's even kicked a ball. How many wrote Strachan off before he'd even managed a game, based on the fact he'd got Coventry relegated? Belgian football is horribly slow with little pressing, teams play slowly from the back and by the time the ball gets forward, the opposition have put a lot of men behind the ball. Ode Thompson looks like a stocky fella and may benefit from a quicker, more direct game (which let's face it, pretty much sums up League 1.) Rasiak aside, who I think will scarper when/if someone matches his wages, we have a very lightweight group of young strikers, this guy could be a useful bargain addition. Don't forget, the Toure brothers and Eboue came from Beveren in Belgium, who are a mediocre outfit at best and who have since been relegated to the 2nd Division.
