Harding, because although he looks like a nancy boy and runs like a girl, he actually plays well. Oh and because Leeds fans hate him too, therefore, I like him.
-
Mills and Harding looked great down the left vs Charlton, not sure why it went a bit crap the last few games. Holmes and Mills offer natural width though, although he's a good player, Melis doesn't provide this.

Saints 3-1 Gillingham - 1st Half and HT

Tis the best form of defence, let's go out in the 2nd half and get at them with a high tempo. If we sit back and invite them on, that's when we throw stuff away. -

doesn't matter how they go in! -

Could be worse, Tranny are 4-0 down to Millwall already! -
DJ Campbell would fit the bill IMO, got pace to burn and would be a tricky player for opposition defences to handle at this level. Anyone who is still suggesting Sam Vokes needs a reality check, yes he supports us but I can only see Wolves lending him out to a Championship side, no lower.

P*mpey will be fine, I've just heard they've appointed a new head of finance who has said he will be able to generate immediate funds..........

I think you'll find he's played in a large percentage of this season's games

Can anyone see Cortese putting up with this much longer ?

I'm all for giving Pardew time to sort it out, but it's worrying that Boothroyd took over at Colchester, who had lost their manager, captain and one of their best players (Jackson) and yet he's managed to chalk up 2 wins already in the space of a month. Since Boothroyd took over at the start of September, they've taken the same amount of points as Pardew has mustered since the start of the season. I appreciate our problems were worse than theirs when each of the respective managers took over, but it puts things into perspective. -
I still can't believe that we still have fans who expect us to beat everyone in this league based on the fact that we used to be a big club. I take it they're the sort of people who've not been to a game at this level yet? We're a League One club now, same as everyone else in this division. The history and the big stadium count for f**k all. Anyone who has watched a few games this season will realise that we are at this level for a reason, most of the teams we have played so far have looked better organised than us and usually posed more of a threat going forward, as when we attack we just look devoid of ideas. Unless rapid improvements are made, get used to teams like Bristol Rovers coming and taking points off us, it's a sad fact.

Football 365 sum it up in the first bit of today's Mediawatch article: http://www.football365.com/mediawatch/0,17033,8755,00.html

Gonna be a difficult game, they're a solid team with some dangerous players, plus they'll be pumped up to get one over Ricky Lambert. Let's hope he's equally motivated to put one over on his old pals! This game really will give us a good indication of where we're at.
-
I'm not expecting us to score from every corner, but 16 is a huge amount to get in one game without actually converting any of them, especially when you have two giant central defenders and a target-man striker in the box. Let's hope Bristol Rovers and Gillingham are a bunch of dwarves!

Our lack of end product at corners has been mentioned many a time before, but I've just seen that we had 16 corners at the weekend! Can anyone who went to the game confirm whether we actually looked like scoring from any of them or if it was Lallana's usual floated delivery? We're clearly winning enough of them and we've got the aerial power to make them count now, so why aren't we scoring from them? I know the goal at the weekend came from a free-kick, but that had a touch of luck to it.

2-1 Saints methinks. Hope all who travel have a good one up there, was intending on taking the missus up there for a Lake District weekender and doing the game as part of it, but I've ended up moving house this weekend, so that went out the window!!! To anyone making the trip up, get out of Carlisle asap after and go somewhere like Keswick for a drink after, far more pleasant. Don't go near Penrith though, quite possibly one of the most backward towns I've ever visited, it looks like it's still in the 80s and they all spoke with a weird accent that was a cross between a Lancashire/Geordie twang.

At what age do the Yoof start recruiting?

Nice to know we're now ran by someone who is in the elite of their field and highly respected. Makes a change from egotistical *****s on a power trip all trying to outdo eachother at boardroom level, this club had become a very petty place, it's nice now to have the main debates about the action on the pitch.

Bah, it's late, I knew what I meant :S

Perry could do a job at right back, although I think Lloyd James would offer more in an attacking sense. Personally, I'd go with: GK: Kevin RB: James LB: Harding CB: Jaidi CB: Trotman RM: Melis LM: Mills CM: Schneiderlin CM: Hammond AMC: Lallana ST: Lambert

But their debt was around 900M euros I think, I'm pretty sure if they managed to get David Villa to appear at 100 weddings over the summer it wouldn't come close to paying it off!
-
Valencia are buggered. They started construction on the Nuevo Mestalla without having sold the land where the current Mestalla is situated, then the arse fell out of the property market. The last I heard, the workers on the new stadium had downed tools and Valencia were doing anything for cash, including making their players available to hire for private functions! Seem to have started the season ok though, I don't know how the hell they managed to keep Villa, Silva and Mata.

Kelvin trying to shepherd the ball out of play vs QPR at St Mary's a couple of years back and completely bodging it up, allowing the late Ray Jones to score.

Maybe the armband would stop him from wanting to fight everyone!!! In all seriousness though, I agree with most of the people above, Hammond leads by example.

Sol Campbell quits Notts county!

Bottlejob. Getting ran ragged by a bunch of cloggers up at Morecambe on Saturday was clearly too much for him. Munter Finance or whatever they are called have a lot to answer for. I'm glad our owners are rich but sane. -
I think people are right in that they say it depends on what circles you mix in. I don't know anyone who is a regular user, only a handful of people who have just tried it. I myself have never tried anything other than weed, which is probably the same as a large proportion of the population. Also, anyone else heard that if alcohol was introduced as a new drug today, it'd be a class A? Funny how if something is deemed socially acceptable, regulated and heavily taxed, the government don't particularly care!
