Cheer on Rickie Lambert and make free money
oxfordshire_saint replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
I've got a bet with a work colleague that he'll outscore Beckford. C'mon Rickie! -
Looks like someone's registered an objection on there.......

If you look at the pics she smashed both back windows too, so clearly not trying to get inside to open the door, she was blantantly chasing him, smashing the shiiiiiit out of his rather tacky looking escalade as he fired it up and ploughed into a fire hydrant. Jesper Parnavik's comments earlier were brilliant.

Mr Hudson - Straight No Chaser (pretty damn good if you look past the chart-friendly Kanye collabs) Jay Z - Blueprint 3 The XX - The XX The Invisible - The Invisible Bombay Bicycle Club - I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose Kid Kudi - Man On The Moon Drake - So Far Gone (technically a mixtape, meh) Frankmuzik - Complete Me Passion Pit - Manners Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream (I'm pretty sure this was in 2009, correct me if I'm wrong!)

Saints vs Rotherham or Luton - 3rd Round Draw Thread
oxfordshire_saint replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
Surely if we play Rotherham and Le Fondre impresses, we have to sign him? With "Le" in the name he'd be a sure-fire hit Shame he's not from the Channel Islands -
Yup, they actually have 3 changing rooms too, Inter, AC and away (4 if you want to be pedantic and count the refs!)

To be honest, the original argument is flawed, because none of those ground-shares work out particularly well: San Siro - apart from a few games a season, the thing is always half empty. Neither club particularly want to stay there anymore and are both looking at individual projects. Despite it's iconic appearance and sheer size, it's a dump. Allianz Arena - 1860 playing there is a joke. Their attendances are poor and they had to sell their 50% stake in the stadium to Bayern as they were facing some serious financial problems Maracana - a big decaying bowl that a few teams inhabit out of necessity. For some games a lot of those clubs do actually have their own stadiums, especially when playing in the Rio State Championship, which is a bit of a non-event. Brazilian football is probably best left off any list being used to make your point as it is corrupt, poorly organised and dangerous. Luzhniki Stadium - Spartak are a nomadic club and are looking to build their own ground. Torpedo only use it for big matches (as do CSKA for Champs League matches) but actually have their own smaller ground where most league matches take place. So really, none of those ground shares actually benefit BOTH clubs, it's a severely poor argument, especially when you add it to a lot of the issues people have raised in previous posts.

"Hulk Hogan" comes off worse in brawl
oxfordshire_saint replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in General Sports
These guys were old as fook when I was a kid, shouldn't they both be in a home or dead by now? -
He's a grade A prima donna, not the sort of person we should risk disrupting the squad with. As soon as we got relegated he was hawking himself round to Premier League sides, went up to Brum but asked for too much cash, so stuck it out with us and said he owed to the fans to stay after we'd gone down. The Franchise are welcome to him.

Should have taken a central midfielder off and put Papa wide left with Antonio continuing wide right and Lallana in the middle behind Connolly and Lambert
-
Bah, someone stick one of these in!
-
Gotta bury one of these chances soon

What a miss, Hammond

FM 2010 hints, tips, cheats & gems of players / tactics
oxfordshire_saint replied to SO16_Saint's topic in Computer Games
If you want cash for the 2nd season, I signed Sepp De Roover for £400k in January in the first season then in the summer Hull came knocking for £4.2m! That gave me a nice budged for the Championship, current starting 11 is: GK - Davis RB - Gilbert/James LB - Antunes/Harding DC - Martis DC - Rocha/De Laet AMR - Pennant (£2.3m from Zaragoza, funds courtesy of the De Roover sale!) AML - Mills MC - Schneiderlin/Michael Woods MC - Bassegio/Lallana ST - Lambert/Andreev ST - Saha/Kovacs -
Trying to weigh up if staying up for this one will be detrimental when paired with the fact that I've got a match at 10:30am too! I'm backing Manny to deliver a big KO in this one, but it'll have to be spectacular against Cotto.

Tevez - lack of motivation?
oxfordshire_saint replied to oxfordshire_saint's topic in General Sports
Pretty much every other news outlet ran with it too, he talked about maybe going back to play for Boca Juniors instead. -
Looks like Fergie did well avoiding shelling out £30m+ for him, he sounds like his head isn't exactly in the right place for giving his all at Man City: http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009/11/13/1623191/manchester-city-striker-carlos-tevez-considering-retirement

Carlo Cudicini injured in car crash
oxfordshire_saint replied to JackFrost's topic in General Sports
That was my first though, don't footballer's contracts forbid them from doing stuff like that or going on skiing holidays etc? -
Ok, I will probably get lambested for this one...
oxfordshire_saint replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
He spends far too much time on twitter for my liking. He's looking very much like he'll go down in history as a massive wasted talent, not that long ago that Fergie had him training at United. Also, as someone mentioned above, work permit would be a stumbling block. -
We had Weah's cousin, why not Rooney's brother :-p
-
That was the bit that stuck in the throat, there was no way of us avoiding the penalty, but the way he went about it seemed like he was trying to put us out of business.

Don't mess with Rickie's sister!
oxfordshire_saint replied to the saint in winchester's topic in The Saints
Oddly arousing. If you could put up with the bruises, I bet she'd be a cracking ****! -
I agree to an extent with the "selfish" comments, but grief affects people in different ways and I think it's extremely harsh to judge him without knowing the full circumstances that pushed him to take his own life.

Had a daughter who died a couple of years ago, apparently he never really got over it. I follow a lot of German football and by all accounts the guy was a top keeper and a decent bloke, did a lot of charity work.
