  1. If we're having a bad game, that probably means: 1st 5 mins for players to reflect on how **** they've been 2nd 5 mins for players to blame and slate eachother 3rd 5 mins for players to tell eachother how to do their job better, nearly coming to blows, only to be interrupted by the need to go out for the 2nd half Well, that's how it'd go if Sunday football had a 15 mins halftime.......
  2. Must've meant physique-wise rather than height!
  3. Asked a Reading supporting mate of mine about him, said he's had limited involvement there but is a big lad and pacy to boot. Sounds exactly what we need, should be keen to impress.
  4. Hmmm, if he's battered a boxer, he may have to watch his back!
  5. I heard it was that LB came onto SRS, only to be greeted with homophobic hostility. LB then lost it, shoved a bottle up his arse, the pain of which rendered him unconcious. LB's cut hand was due to him then punching the window of Ann Summers in an attempt to acquire a dildo for the night after the cagefighters turned him down too. All was captured on CCTV.
  6. Was also my first and only trip to Old Trafford (coincidentally, also my first and last ever trip on the supporters club coaches, was only 17 at the time!) I remember hoping that they would give United's first goal as a Bridge OG, because otherwise it'd go down as Phil Neville's, oh the shame! Also, wasn't there a lone pitch invader at one point who managed to evade the stewards for ages, tried to hug Van Nistelrooy and got swung at by Barthez?
  7. Nice to see no mention of it at all on Newsnow, bit of censorship from the club?
  8. Anyone know what his scoring record in the youth/reserves is like?
  9. Anyone doubting he'll go to jail......... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7409943.stm Admittedly Mr Barton has previous, but he didn't use a weapon in his......
  10. From Football365: "Ideas Above Station Heard of Nathan Eccleston? If not, here's a brief CV: Scored one goal for Huddersfield in a four-month loan spell last season, yet to score for Liverpool in five appearances, missed penalty v Northampton in Carling Cup shoot-out. Here's his tweet when asked why he did not respond to all questions from his 'fans' on Twitter: '@nonleagueshaun ha if I was to reply to every1 msgs I'd be all day.. Its like y doesn't god answer every1 prayers?"
  11. I know judging a player on YouTube clips is dangerous, but from what I've seen he's more than adept at running with the ball, passing, crossing and shooting. Most of his good work appeared to be when arriving late on the edge of the box and finishing. What with the lack of striking options, how about giving him 90 mins this Saturday playing off Lambert as an attacking central midfielder in a 4-5-1 formation? Give him a chance to adapt to the language, style of play and the surroundings and he could come good. Remember, Juve fans thought Thierry Henry was pants................
  12. Seen him play for ressies and in friendlies, he's turd. If he's on the bench it might mean we're about to ask Stoke for a loanee or summat.
  13. I've always struggled to fathom why we are so crap at set pieces, it's been that way for years. Anyone remember Oakley always floating his corners in when swinging it in with a bit of pace would be far more dangerous? Nowt much has changed!
  14. I was under the impression that Bartram was the GK coach for the Development Academy or whatever the fook they're called. Maybe he's stepped into the breach though after Murdoch got booted out with Pardew and Downes?
  15. Although it would've been unlikely, it's a shame Andy Keogh joined Cardiff on loan last month.
  16. Hmmm, hardly working wonders at Boro is he? We should leave Strachan where he belongs, as part of our history. It was a magic mix of the right man, for the right club, with the right players at the right time. He should never come back. As for the players, I agree with the OP 100%. Also, we need some pace asap.
  17. Haha, no, we weren't up the tree! Can't see us on that pic but you must've been fairly close. We were on quite a marshy bit of ground, but it meant our fold-out chairs dug in well. I'll put a pic up of where we were once the missus gets round to uploading them from her camera (it's an SLR and I'm not allowed to touch it, lol) Shame Hamilton ruined all his good work that day with his forgettable drive (if you can call it that?) today.
  18. There's a college/school quite close to the ground that did parking for a resonable price last season
  19. Heard the vuvuzelas, but didn't see them! I guess you were closer to the top of that grass bank? We were only about 2/3 of the way up it (despite getting there at 7am, the best spots at the top were gone already!). We were right next to a group of Swiss guys who had a massive green/blue old Sauber flag. Did you go to the pitwalk on the Thursday? Great to meet some of the drivers, but completely unregulated in terms of crowd control, wouldn't be surprised if people got injured at it. I did laugh when I saw what campsites in the local vicinity were charging, we camped 23rd-30th in Bastogne for cheaper than those only staying for the weekend locally and it was only about a 45 min drive to the circuit for us each day.
  20. I agree with Alpine..........no, really. I would've been more than happy to have seen Pardew given this season to get us up, as I think he would've done, because this division looks ****-poor this season. But I'm not going to miss him too much, provided we bring the right person in. Pros - the players he did buy have pretty much all been decent Cons - tactically inept/stubborn, ego
  21. I go to see Alemannia Aachen (Bundesliga 2) at least once a season, they're my German team and also try to get to a couple of Bundesliga games too. I also losely follow Charleroi and Porto, have seen both sides play at home.
  22. Sounds like you guys enjoyed it as much as I did! The missus and I did the whole weekend too (including the pitwalk on the Thursday). Where were you sat? On the Friday we were about halfway along the Kemmel Straight but spent Sat and Sun on the big grass verge at Pouhon. We pre-booked to hire on the Kangaroo TV devices for the weekend too, definitely worth the 50 euros we paid.
  23. One ran our club to the brink of oblivion, the other was instrumental in saving it from said oblivion..............hmmm, yeah, they're equal. On the face of it, I don't agree with Pardew getting the boot so early, but we don't know what exactly went on behind the scenes to cause the decision. The coming months will tell if it was right or not.
  24. Fair point, but we're not denying footage or reports, purely photos (and yes, I know photos of the contentious incidents at the World Cup were displayed elsewhere, but I was giving an exaple of how organisations handpick their content)
  25. Meh, censorship happens everywhere in today's world, read the following match report from FIFA and note how it makes no mention of the fact that an offside goal was shown on a big screen replay in the stadium, thus causing the entire Mexico team to go ape****: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/round=249717/match=300061502/summary.html Also, let's take a look at the matchday photo gallery from England vs Germany (painful though it may be) and I can assure you that if you click through the images, you will not find a single one of Lampard's shot that crossed the line........funny that: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/round=249717/match=300061501/photolist.html#1261380 So, for example, if Wotton got sent off for decking someone and Saints released no photos of it, anyone who was there, saw it on TV or read a report of the match will still know it happened. We're hardly North Korea now, are we?
