So what? A few people have apparently died from it, how many people die in alcohol related deaths every weekend? Is there a clamour for booze to be banned? It's the same with anything, if you're stupid enough to do things to excess, you deserve the consequences. Making it illegal won't really do much, doesn't exactly stop people from shoving a load of coke up their hooter or doing a load of MDMA before going clubbing. I don't know if it's just me, but I can't take a drug that's being called "meow meow" seriously.

A very good question, as Real Madrid would be fooked. Platini can whinge all he likes about English football but he'll never say anything about Real due to Sepp Blatter being an honorary president of the club and the fact they can mount up whatever debt they like and effectively always be bailed out by the Spanish government due to their ties with the Spanish royal family. A better idea would be to copy the model used in Germany where no single person can own more than 49% of a club. They struggle to compete against the big boys in the Champions League but their football is ran brilliantly, ticket prices are cheap (which means their stadiums are always full) and most of the teams usually have a decent amount of youth products in their starting 11s.

I hope some of these are real.....
oxfordshire_saint replied to oxfordshire_saint's topic in The Muppet Show
Snog, Marry, Avoid is true car-crash TV. For the sake of this country, part of me hopes that some of the people on there are actors because if they are real, then we should all abandon hope. Turns out this one (one of the most horrific on there) could be real: http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=8779291353 -
Some of them must be p!sstakes, but I hope some of them are genuine, what a bunch of khunts! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/2899798/Worst-fake-tan-foul-ups-on-web.html?offset=0

* Official * Wembley Seating Plan Thread
oxfordshire_saint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Block 535, row 26. Currently searching EBay for a pair of red and white binoculars. -
Not suggesting it goes down as goal of the season, but I love watching Connolly's goal up at Oldham, his first for us I believe. Such a good finish, completely fooled the keeper with his shaping to shoot across goal then going the other way.

Isn't he cup tied for it?

Average attendances from the Prem years: 2004-05: 30,610 (The FA Premier League) 2003-04: 31,699 (The FA Premier League) 2002-03: 30,680 (The FA Premier League) 2001-02: 30,633 (The FA Premier League) I'd say St Mary's is a perfect fit. I'm not saying the potential isn't there, it's just not been proved (44k for a Wembley trip isn't proof of anything other than that people like a day out. Had they made tickets only 1 per season ticket holder or people who've been to 5 games or more this season I'd like to see how many would've fit the criteria)
-
Errr no, I just don't see the point in making a bigger stadium that would only sell out 4 or 5 times a season. If I was a player I'd rather have a packed house or nearly packed house each week rather than a half full stadium for most games, only to see it full for the odd big game now and again. Average attendance this season is probably around 21k yet for a game at Wembley we sell 44k and want more. Anyone who thinks we'd get 40k every week in the Prem is deluded, it'd only be when a big team comes to town or if it's a make-or-break promotion/relegation game. Why did we get a big crowd yesterday? Not because people wanted to see Saints, they wanted to see Saints vs Leeds. Where were they when we got 17,000 for Colchester or 18,000 for Stockport, both on Saturdays? No point kidding ourselves we're special, yes we get big crowds for League One but once we go higher than that we're the same as every other team who's fanbase only come out in big numbers for the big games. St Mary's is the perfect size for us. Unless we get to the Prem and start challenging for a Champs League spot, we shouldn't bother ourselves with worrying about how we'll accomodate a new wave of JCLs.
-
32k is about our level TBH. If we got back to the Prem I'd rather keep it around that size than play in a 40-50k stadium with vast empty spaces. Should we get back, if we're getting 30k+ for a few seasons in a row then maybe think about it. Suggesting we build a bigger stadium is just getting waaaaay ahead of ourselves at the moment.

Jaidi + Fonte = the new Svensson + Lundekvam ?
oxfordshire_saint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Jaidi was frustrating yesterday, an absolute powerhouse, but I don't think I've ever seen him take a first touch!!! Every time he cleared a ball it was aimless and usually went into touch or to the opposition. Plus he's got a bit of a 50p head. Oh and he gives away some absolutely needless freekicks. Fonte was a bit of a hoof-merchant yesterday too, he's a brilliant centre-back but the whole ball-playing classy centreback label that some choose to stick on him is a bit OTT. Did have one great moment though when he had a bouncing ball, facing the wrong and with Beckford up his backside but calmly flicked it over his head and collected on the other side. They did what needed to be done on a basic level, but Becchio and Beckford looked disinterested from the 1st whistle, someone with real pace could've troubled us. -
I remember some shocking attendances in the Prem. Once/If we get back there, we might have full houses for the first season but it'll die down then. I'd like to know how many sellouts we had during the high finish and FA Cup run with Strachan at the helm. Let's not get all giddy because we had a big attendance for a game involving 2 sides with Prem fanbases.
-
All criticism of him here is just, apart from the 5 mins injury time. They had a lad on the deck for ages having his head put back together. Given that most uneventful matches have around 2 mins added on anyway, 5 was not shocking.
-
Oh and if a player goes to kick a ball at waist height and the opposing played decides to drop their head to that level, it's not a high foot. Tit.

Is there a case for saying Kisnorbo should've walked instead of getting a yellow when he fouled Rickie? Yes Rickie was out wide but had got the other side of Kisnorbo and had he not been fouled, would've had a clear angled run at goal. No point going into too much depth about the rugby tackle on Fonte, the pictures speak for themselves, I was sat in the Kingsland/Northam corner and could see it clearly. The only good thing I can say about the ref is that he failed to be fooled by Beckford and Becchio's tactic of never jumping for a header and just backing into Fonte or Jaidi followed by falling over.

It's a central badge but screenprinted. Got it off Subside who were doing all of the Euro 2004 kits prior to the tournament, so I'd hope it's authentic! Colour hasn't faded and the badge is still going strong!
-
Seabourne, he's gangly
-
Pah, I've got the authentic 2004 Adidas Latvia home shirt Couldn't get it printed though
-
He was overrated anyway, people just bigged him up on the basis of a couple of good cup games against Prem teams. His goal record was always average for a striker.

Terry only has himself to blame, because he's been a massive khunt, but the more the media bang on about it, the more it harms England's chances.

Makes you proud to be English doesn't it? Lest we forget Marseille, Charleroi and Albufeira.........

Jay Lucas and Adrian Caceres didn't manage a first team game between them did they?
