  1. How's your Dutch? http://www.voetbalzone.nl/doc.asp?uid=142988
  2. Not to be confused with Wigan failure Daniel de Ridder http://www.voetbalzone.nl/doc.asp?uid=142988
  3. Steve De Ridder, Belgian striker from De Graafschap in Holland
  4. Saw Pulis playing as a trialist for Aldershot on Saturday. Funnily enough, Aldershot are playing Stoke in a friendly soon. Love how his old man has to do a club a favour in order to get his son a game!
  5. By not lost anyone, I was classing Puncheon as "gone" a long time ago!
  6. We've not lost anyone and added some much needed pace to the team. I'm more than satisfied with that. We were never going to get Austin and wouldn't pay silly money for Mackail-Smith, so wasn't pinning my hopes on us getting either of them.
  7. Bah, I was sure I put the m after £3! Still, with those injuries £3 may have been more apt. I hope his pay is appearance related!
  8. Good player but £3 is bloody steep for someone the wrong side of 30 and who possesses a knackered knee and dodgy shoulder
  9. If we end up flogging Puncheon, then I think we could do with bringing in a right-sided midfielder, possibly on loan, to take a bit of the weight off of AOC's shoulders. Can't really see any other areas of the team where we could go out and get anyone substantially better than we already have.
  10. Hope he does well there. Never struck me as management material though, especially as he probably still looks about 12.
  11. Don't forget he's a wife beater and gambling addict too. Christ, he really must've fitted in down the other end of the M27
  12. Didn't score but at least he likes a tackle......
  13. I have a panic attack when Kelvin gets a backpass, I think he does too
  14. Indeed. If the opposition build up the play slowly and then lump it long, Jaidi is fine. If they counter-attack quickly and shift the ball quickly (the first 10 mins vs Huddersfield is a good example), then he is completely useless. He'll be fine for most games in this league, but I agree, we need a regular quality partner for Fonte. Central defence is a place where you need to build a consistent partnership, not a rotation policy because someone can't do 2 games a week.
  15. No He doesn't want to play for us and we're a completely different side to Millwall, so if anyone thinks he'd just come back here and continue playing the same as he is there then they are looking at it from far too simplistic a viewpoint. Use his form to sell him to the highest bidder, then let Adkins buy someone who fits into his way of playing and thinking. Everyone's a winner
  16. I love that we're being accused of arrogance, yet they're the ones claiming how big they'll be once their new wonder stadium is built? Let's hope the new stadium does for Brighton what Darlington's did for them. New stadium hardly equals guaranteed long-term success, look at Shrewsbury, Darlington, Derby, Middlesbrough and dare I say it.....us. Even Arsenal won more when they were back at Highbury!
  17. Because they've got no proper rivals, they try and stir them up themselves so they have somewhere to direct their anger. I presume this is why they hate Palace? Never understood that one. Maybe they'll get Lewes or Worthing in the FA Cup one day so they can have a proper local derby. Surely if we both go up they should have a bigger rivalry with the Skates?
  18. When I was a lad my junior team for some reason trained at Farnborough Rugby Club. Saints were playing Farnborough in a friendly later that night and the sign for the rugby club said "Farnborough RFC". Dave Beasant drove in, saw that it was just fields and a tiny clubhouse, but still asked whether he was in the right place. My Dad politely gave him directions to the ground. Also, during our relegation season I had a rather heated debate in a Guildford nightclub with Mark Hudson (then of Crystal Palace) about how we'd stay up and they'd go down. I told him Palace were sh!te, he told me we were sh!te, turns out we were both right.
  19. He's a Brazilian who's come from Italian football, he's not going to give you 90 mins of workrate or go charging into tackles. He'll be anonymous for large spells but produce telling contributions. In the 2nd half I had some fickle morons sat near me bleating on about how "that number 11 is awful" or "go on, make amends for earlier", make amends for what?!?! He had 2 assists! Granted his touch was off at times and he missed a couple of shots but he contributed to the win and people should be grateful for that.
  20. Credit Suisse
  21. I feel sorry for the youth of today, they're de-sensitised to the effects of porn because of t'internet. They'll never know the excitement of finding a grot mag in a bush or a pillbox littered with the stuff.
  22. I'm heading to Germany for football (and Christmas Markets) at the weekend. Looking forward to watching from the terrace with a pint in my hand. As many have said above, it works perfectly fine out there, I've experienced it numerous times (Schalke, Gladbach, Koln, Aachen) and never had any problems. The FA and the government should speak to the DFB and gain some knowledge of how they make it work.
  23. FWIW, last year's Mitre ball was brilliant. I'm a keeper and it's flight was a lot more predictable than the new Nike or Adidas balls and it would still sail miles from a goal kick. Luckily the league I play in still uses last years ball, but with the Combined Counties League branding on it (if you can call the Combined Counties League a "brand"??!?)
  24. I spoke to them on Monday and they assured me that it'll definitely be possible to buy on the day
  25. He's getting there
