Great sportsmen and, from all accounts, very nice people. -

I haven't logged off - my presence isn't always apparent. I don't know if I'm a m1nger as you so charmingly put it. Eye of the beholder and all that. Are you? I'm sorry if I misunderstood your 'conversation' - not hard to do, I guess. -

I've got lots of ideas, some of them probably applicable to you. My take on this thread is that it is about Olympic Sports. Not whether someone looks like the back of a bus or not. I can well understand you guys posting pics of pretty girls and I posted one of a male sports hero of mine who's tasty. I'm still hunting for decent Nadal / Federer pics. But to criticise a sports person just because of their face is plain stupid. -
I just ignore it. If I ever met Mr Lowe I would disregard him and / or ignore him. I consider him to be inferior. That would hurt him beyond belief. I don't HATE anyone.

So, is this woman masquerading as a beauty queen / pin-up or is she, in fact, one of our gold medal winners (of which we have only two, both female as it happens)? Sports people don't have to be photogenic (Ian Dowie), they have to be good at sport FFS. Stop trivialising a fantastic achievement by this woman. -
Quite agree. Especially that bit about 'pre-administration' for one of his companies so that he didn't have to pay creditors! I would have been very unhappy to have someone with such (lack of) morals involved in our club.

I don't hate Tarmac either. I disregard it at best and ignore it completely when I'm feeling particularly harsh. It feels very hurt and inferior when I do this. I do the same to a number of football clubs.
-
They are probably using the word 'hate' when they actually mean dislike with a vengeance. Not quite the same thing, I suggest A person would have to be a bit short on the old neural pathways to hate an object (a team) anyway. It's like saying 'I hate bricks / tarmac / lemons'. 'Hating' a football team is akin to 'hating' black people, ginger-haired people, etc. - totally irrational IMO

Burger vans: Love the smell of frying onions but hate the smell of the burgers - they smell like BO.

And what's with the hugely domed forehead on the girl (?) behind? -
I'm completely ambivalent about them TBH. IMO anyone who claims to 'hate' a football team is a bit sad.

So is it Mukesh or Anil who is buying us? Why on earth would the world's 4th richest man (according to the Forbes list) buy l'il ol' us?

Did you see that programme on BBC a couple of weeks ago about a Harvester? And then last week about an Italian restaurant in SoHo? I'm seriously questioning whether to eat in a restaurant again after seeing those two. Having said that, my daughter, Mr TF and I all had horrible gut-rot after having Domino's Pizzas on Saturday So even take-out isn't safe IMO.
