  1. Me too - near St Monica's school / the Brickyard. It was always a great treat to stop for chips on the way home from Brownies
  2. I think only if it takes their total shareholding over a certain percentage.
  3. Only illegally farmed cod for me.
  4. We had F & C last night and I had a pea fritter - yummy. You should all move near me - we've got probably the best chippy in the land just down the road.
  5. I assume you mean big plums?
  6. You need to see your GP for a Proton Pump Inhibitor (pill). Or try something like Gaviscon or Zantac to start with. If you don't treat a stomach ulcer, it can perforate and that's really not very nice.
  7. Are those testicles I can see between the legs of the bending over girl?
  8. Ulcer - for sure.
  9. We have to have our boiler on 24 hours a day (only for hot water ATM because the heating is controlled by a thermostat in the hall). With Mr TF's day/night shifts, we'd be forever changing the clock on the boiler or over-riding it if we didn't have it on all the time. It doesn't seem to be any more expensive our way (comparing our costs to most others on here). However, we never have the radiator on in our bedroom - even in the depths of winter - or in the kitchen and they're turned right down in the guest bedrooms. And we have a fire in the sitting room that's usually enough unless it's very, very cold.
  10. I'm moving to Belarus!
  11. If you read the article, Steve, you'll see that he DID care way back, before he was involved at a ministerial level.
  12. Two adults in our house and we pay £103 pcm for gas and electricity. Oh and our water charges are £20 a month.
  13. It wasn't the British Government, however, it was the EU. In today's Guardian, there's an interesting piece about the Government's Culture Minister and how he is encouraging the FA to look again at where football's going. He says that it's not government's role to dictate how the sport should be run - that should be done by the sports' governing bodies. But he does ask questions about TV rights, Fit for Purpose, Sky money (not) going to the lower leagues etc. Very interesting. Oh and he set up Supporters Direct a few years ago too. Oh and he's got lovely eyes http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/sep/11/1
  14. No more than is to be expected from that particular contributor, Johnny
  15. Was that also the case with Andorra then? (And presumably every other national FA whose team we will being playing away)?
  16. "America is the only nation in history which miraculously has gone directly from barbarism to degeneration without the usual interval of civilisation." Oscar Wilde
  17. And a knife thingy.
  18. I just remember grey StL If you think about the crowds at the Dell in the 60s most were male and most wore grey trousers, grey / navy jumpers, grey cloth caps...... (or was it only my Dad ). Cars were mainly black. I just remember depressing drab in the main
  19. I remember those times with fondness too. I can remember, when I was about 10, cycling on my own from Sholing to Botley (and back). No worries about 'evil people'. Mind you cycling was probably safer in those days. I remember Lepe well. Although most summer Sundays we'd set off at sparrow fart to Hayling Island, stay there all day and then stop off on Portsdown Hill for tea. There was an ice-cream seller there who made the most fabulous ice-cream (inevitably called Tony lol). I used to roll down the Hill without fear. But I also remember that everything was very grey in those days and that there wasn't the freedom to express myself in the way children can these days (rightly so). Clothes were boring, generally, and I now hate the fact that everyone 'knew their place' and had to conform. I think I'd rather be a child today than then.
  20. Not soon enough IMO. International matches (cricket, football, whatever) should HAVE to be broadcast on free to view channels.
  21. It's actually spelt 'Obama'. HTH
  22. Learn Archery Go Clay Pigeon shooting
  23. He-hey! I hadn't thought of that! YOU ARE SO VERY CLEVER =D> (this is a clapping smiley FYI)
  24. Er - No. 4 in the world, in fact.
