  1. I'm wearing a stripey jumper right now! Or are the rules different for girlies?
  2. No that's not the point I was trying to make! I was trying to say that any 'young person' who doesn't dress like a chav, goth, emo IS different. To me, this indicates they're capable of independent thought and confident of their own identity so that they don't feel they need to conform to a stereotype. In the same way - I'm a grandmother but I certainly don't fit the stereotype and that really annoys some people of my age group because I don't neatly fit their perceptions of what a grandmother should look like
  3. Maybe that's the difference between men and women then. Men look at 'bits' whereas women notice people who are not prepared to be one of the herd and therefore have a bit of personality and individuality.
  4. Which is why it's fun being different / enigmatic. Get people guessing and annoyed because you can't be pigeonholed. Which brings me back to the other thread on this forearm: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=3301 and why the short-haired girl gets noticed.
  5. Maybe because they get a sense of belonging - something they haven't experienced when growing up? Or maybe because they'd rather have attention, even if they're being derided, than no attention at all :smt102
  6. I don't think there's any difference between them and their 'uniforms' and us grown ups wearing our 'uniforms', be it suits for work or jeans and Tshirts / football tops for leisure. Don't judge a book by a cover is my maxim.
  7. It's a rite of passage thing. From beatnicks to rockers, mods, hippies, new romantics, punks etc. etc. etc. They'll grow out of it
  8. Oh right - I just wondered if it made certain little things look bigger
  9. Not Fact - FACT! My beautiful daughter has short dark hair and I can assure you she's definitely not a lesbian. In fact she's just recently had a baby (not by turkey baster before you suggest it ).
  10. OIC - thanks for explaining the male mind to me It explains a lot :smt042 Edit I notice no. 4 is cross-eyed. Is that useful?
  11. May I, a mere woman, interject? I think no. 2 is by far the prettiest girl there. She's not following the herd with the (yawn) long blonde hair (yawn) and to me it looks like she's actually got a personality. But, hey, what do I know :smt102
  12. Oh get out of here - you're just joshing For argument's sake, 52% of the population aren't interested in football. Therefore, 48% are interested in football, but this makes them a minority of the population. In this scenario, football is a minority interest - yes? However, another statement could be that, of all the sports people are interested in in this country, football is the most popular. xx
  13. I guess the FIA is looking to where the money is in future. Hence places like the Far East, Brazil, the Middle East at the expense of 'poor' nations like Canada, France (lost out today) and UK. I don't care anymore and I've been a fan for decades too. I won't be interested again until fairness comes back into the sport - if it lasts that long.
  14. Read the sentence again. He said it is a minority INTEREST (i.e. less than 50% of the population are INTERESTED in it). But, of all the sports that people aren't interested in, football is the most POPULAR. Does that help?
  15. Obviously at fault for the Belarus goal
  16. Are you suggesting I should commit a fraudulent act? It's a company phone (hence delivery to the office).
  17. I can't get this to work I can get onto the website but if I click on one of the links I just get 'Internet Explorer cannot display the page'.
  18. No he's a chippy
  19. Junction 9 - drives a white van, bit of a beer belly, receding hair Oh hang on - that's my brother who lives near Junction 9 (the road, not the person)
  20. Even on a cold January Saturday afternoon?
  21. Jillyanne - average height, dark shoulder length hair, smartly dressed and a bit of a smiler
  22. You know what - if I lived near by I would! Mr TF is working a night shift so I'm all on my ownsome
  23. I'm resigned to listening to it on Radio5 Live on the TV if you know what I mean
  24. I only know one bloke who lives in Manchester so I always imagine TG to look like him (feminine logic ) So I think he's tall with a grade 1, smart dresser, gsoh
