I don't follow fashion trends because I wear what I like and what suits me. I am not a lemming. Unfortunately many people don't understand the wisdom of this attitude - hence the vomit-inducing sights often on display. I would put men with beer bellies wearing vests / skimpy tee shirts and / or shorts in this bracket. Equally offensive.

Thongs are SOOOOO last year. Even more distasteful is a) the sight of overweight women wearing thongs and b) any woman showing her thong above her jeans. However, since low-slung jeans are also SOOO last year, any woman with a modicum of pride will a) not wear a thong and b) not wear low-slung jeans.

I haven't really noticed any support for communism on this board TBH. Some left-wing views are certainly spouted (by me amongst others) but I'd never, in a million years, promote communist views. The problem is that the lazy response is to call people with right-wing views 'fascist' and people with left-wing views 'communist'. Neither are necessarily true. There is a more middle ground with muted hues.

In support of St L, I can remember that the idea of Solent City was mooted by the powers-that-be as long ago as the mid 70s :shock:

That is the sort of thing that would happen in a fascist state. Try to keep up dear. In fact View From The Top has put it far more eloquently than I have.

I quite agree - this is making me feel very uncomfortable. We shouldn't employ fascist methods to deal with fascists (allegedly). We shouldn't sink to their level.
