My fat aunt Hilda, who ate spare ribs and chips every day, once tried to suggest to me that it wasn't her fault she was fat, it was the ribs and chips.

I have friends who live in Javea - it's quite nice there but very much a British enclave. -

I think your post says more about you than it does about the idea of having 'people's questions' and calm, measured debate.

Because of the irresponsibility of the banking sector in lending them money they couldn't afford to pay back and because many in the financial sector actually hedged in favour of this happening making it a self-fulfilling prophecy. They're the ones who ruined the lives of hard working families.

Because more younger people could get on the property ladder if they wanted to. Most young people these days are unlikely to be in a position to buy their first property until they're in their 40s and, since lenders will only lend until 65 (although the retirement age is 67), many won't even get a chance of getting a mortgage.
-
And many small buy to let investors will sell their properties meaning there will be more on the market and that will help to reduce the prices of average properties. And that will be a good thing in the main.

Being a refugee and being poor aren't necessarily the same thing. Some, if not most, of them are fleeing war, not poverty. -

Aah I get you. You think appearance is far more important than principle. Fortunately a lot of people are less shallow than that. And dodgy links to shady characters? You mean like our current government that sucks up to places like Saudi Arabia because it wants to sell them arms even though that state funds terrorism?

What DOES a leader look like? How does he not sound like a leader - he's calm, authoritative, polite and doesn't resort to insults or sound bites. Oh I see what you mean! How DOES a leader act?
