  2. 81% because I said yes to 10% non words
  3. Good idea! But some would think it was a con as most women, as you know, don't really show until about 5 months whereas, with me, the fainting only occurred during the first trimester
  4. I had this very problem travelling into central London to work when I was pregnant with my first baby. I used to pass out if I stood too long, particularly in crowded stuffy trains. In early pregnancy I had no bump to back up my explanation when I fainted but, eventually, 'my' carriage got to know me and always made sure there was a seat for me. But that was a long, long time ago.
  5. Wow! Well done Curling blokes!
  6. So what's to stop the hoardes of the bestest from parking at Tesco to get to the ground? Or will Tesco charge for parking, redeemable against shopping over a certain value?

  8. Good old Wiki [h=2]Restraining workers[/h] See also: Non-compete clause Under English law, restraining clauses in employment contracts are enforceable if: There is a legitimate interest which needs to be protected. Examples of such interests include business connections and business secrets. The restraint is reasonable, i.e. sufficiently protects the interest and goes no further. Generally, if a restraining clause is found to be unreasonable, then it will be void. In certain circumstances though the court may uphold it either by construing ambiguities or by severance. Severance consists of the application of what is known as the "blue pencil test"; if individual words which make the clause excessively wide are able to be crossed out and the clause still makes grammatical sense, without altering the nature of the obligations, then the courts may be willing to sever the illegal aspects of the clause and enforce the remainder.
  9. Isn't that stipulation 'restraint of trade'? Would your current employers think you might be able to pass on 'trade secrets'? Sometimes employers stipulate that you mustn't take any of their customers with you to your new employer for a set period. This happened to me and I was unable to take clients from my employer for 3 months.
  10. I recognised a lot of them and I was especially to see the pic of Lankaster & Crook. If it was the one in Obelisk Road in Woolston, my grandfather worked there for many years. You probably know about this site already, but I'll post the link anyway https://en-gb.facebook.com/SouthamptonMemories
  11. Given that there are very few sports I DON'T enjoy watching, it's obvious that I'll be watching the Winter Olympics as much as the summer ones. But the great thing about the Winter ones is the risk associated with so many of the events - especially the snowboarding and the sliding down hill on sleighs / tin trays. I'm loving it

  15. Reports that Winchester is close to flooding now
  16. Possibly because it has the potential to cause significantly more damage, given the number of people likely to be affected - many more so than in Somerset.
  17. Was going to say this - or 'the size of x football pitches / Olympic swimming pools'
  18. Oops! Cock up on my part! I didn't read the OP properly and I was talking about Bruges. So disregard my ramblings and accept my apologies please.
  19. I loved it when we went for a long w/e a couple of years ago. I loved the fact that there was a cafe that also sold tobacco and that you could sit inside and smoke with your coffee. Don't know if it's still there. Trips on the canals are good and looking around the diamond museum and the chocolate shops appealed to me greatly. We stayed in a little hotel overlooking the canal called Ter Brughe
