Forgive me - I've read the HuffPost link that I posted 4 times now and I still don't see the quote you attribute to Sir Alistair Graham. Perhaps you'd point me to where he said this. I've also read a lot of press reports about the Farage incident. I see no mention of Abbott, Livingston et al being involved. Can you show me where this has been said please?

I lifted his quote IN IT'S ENTIRETY from the link I posted above

As would I. Here's what he said: "Sir Alistair Graham, the former chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Life, told the Bureau of Investigative Journalism: “Recent events surrounding donations to political parties suggest a review of the current legislation is long overdue. There is a need to tighten the rules to ensure the fullest transparency about donors who are making donations over a given sum (say £5,000 compared with the current £7,500), so the public can know where exactly the money is coming from and what it is intended to achieve.” Especially when it's alleged that people are circumventing the rules and it is being reported today that Mr Clegg may have done something similar http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31996192
-
So you didn't read the article in full, including the statement from the donor then.

Are you referring to this? I see no hypocrisy here. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2015/03/21/hedge-fund-labour_n_6914782.html?1426927970

Did you mean hypocrite?

It was so far back in the mists of time that I've forgotten (or don't really care) how much their 'share' issue raised. Anyone remember? I'm curious because: http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/11869928.Share_scheme_takes_off_with_pledges_nearing___600_000/ and I was wondering how it compared.

Another one bites the dust http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2015/03/19/janice-atkinson-suspended-restaurant-expenses_n_6904432.html?1426792656 And another one http://www.thewestmorlandgazette.co.uk/news/11868250.Ukip_candidate_resigns__Jonathan_Stanley_leaves_party__citing__open_racism_and_bullying_/ Will there be any left come May 7?

Perhaps they should have let him settle in the studio before they interviewed him then Oh and KRG is absolutely right about the stupid comments from the Daily Mail and others about Teresa May. I don't like the woman but no serious and / or senior politician should be subjected to such condescending comments.

This 'tradition' didn't start until about the 1500s because people didn't have surnames until that time. Loads of other countries don't have this 'tradition'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Married_and_maiden_names

Another opportunity for developers to up their prices in line with these giveaways. Won't solve the housing crisis at all.

Do they? I haven't seen that anywhere.

I didn't realise the fuel duty escalator was introduced in 1993 (by the Tories) and cancelled in 2000 (by Labour). I'm not sure why GO repeatedly says that, if Labour had been in power the duty would have risen, when it is patently obvious it wasn't there in the first place? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_Price_Escalator

You didn't honestly expect a considered , intelligent discussion on this topic, did you?

Raising the tax threshold (for basic rate tax payers) won't benefit the people who don't pay any tax because they're on sh*t wages

Ouch nasty one I ruptured a medial ligament years ago (skiing) and it was 3 months before I could drive. Last year I managed to detach my quad from my patella but, since it was my left knee and I have an automatic, I was able to drive after 6 weeks. Not long after I managed to walk from Bedford Place to SMS and back but it was hard work! Good luck for a speedy recovery x

What's wrong with your knee KRG?

Although they initially sanctioned it.

I think the case was brought to establish a principle (as is often the case isn't it SOG?) - the principle being that there should be no limit to the time a claim can be made. Sometimes people say 'Whoah that's crazy' but case law has to be established and tested. I think, from reading the reports, she bore all the responsibility for raising their child and is seeking to reclaim some of that in monetary terms. The judge has said that it's unlikely she'll get close to the £1m she's claiming. -
Verbal - I heard on the news this morning that Clarkson DID own the rights to the show / format but that he sold them back to the BBC a couple of years ago.
