  1. It seems to be the margin of error, which is much tighter than it was when we were previously in the Prem. I think we have too many players who have not played in a top League (England, Italy, Spain) before and that is what is telling. We played bloody well yesterday and I said to my mate five minutes before their goal if we get caught it will be a slip and a sucker punch, and so it was. The players are obviously learning quickly and Ramirez was a role model and focus for the team yesterday, but what I'd give for some experienced nous at centre half and centre midfield...
  2. Bit of a short *rse, be like a younger version of Chris 'the beast' Perry...
  3. This is how I see it, perhaps the biggest disaster would be to remove Adkins and be forced into having to take Hobson's choice ( the likes of Saggy), haggle or wait. It may well be that Cortese's famous connections and negotiation skills are in full swing at the moment, hence Nigel's strained cryptic comment last night...
  4. I'm convinced. Good call...
  5. Greedy w*nker...
  6. That'll do nicely!...
  7. If only it had been £60m, we might have avoided Administration...
  8. He'll go to Spurs, we'll have to make do with Dawson ;-)
  9. This, this, and thrice this. Producing talented players means nothing for SFC if we are unable to retain them...
  10. She looked like Eva Braun...
  11. After Boruc's unprovoked missile attack, did his Afro have a smouldering hole in it like the scouser from Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels?...
  12. If John FSC Westwood was in Last of the Summer Wine...
  13. Well done the OP. the thousands of French Restaurants made me crack up too...
  14. Gazza and Mayuka, and the half time team talk ten minutes before kick off...
  15. Excellent summary...
  16. Nice to see the press have already returned to our nickname from our last time in the Prem - Struggling Southampton...
  17. Remember Barry Bulsara... I'm going for 2-2 too...
  18. It's ridiculous really, and smacks of the big time Charlie culture. I heard that Reed tried to make light of it but once the song started he did the full Chevy and had even brought his own trumpet. Him and Mayuka had already done The Obvious Child and Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes before Adkins intervened. This is when the Davis debacle occurred as Reeds elongated trumpet solo had taken 20 minutes. Not sure if there is any truth in it, but I heard a further rumour that at the next training session Cortese turned up dressed as Prince, which went down like a lead balloon...
  19. This is the kind of thing that is undermining the club! I've heard that rumour too, and Reed and Mayuka are both major Paul Simon fans - it's bare faced favouritism like this that pollutes team spirit...
  20. Which of the new players does this apply to, can't say I've noticed it?...
  21. That's a bit like asking whether you'd prefer to be sexually assaulted by Gary Glitter or Jimmy Savile...
  22. The way things are going Jaidi should keep hold of them as he might get a game soon...
  23. Lol, or indeed Les Dennis, at least he would fit in...
  24. We all thought that the Villa game was the watershed, so this team must win against Spurs, reflect and learn, and stop making silly mistakes...
  25. Pretty much this methinks, which means if NA gets the push a Benitez type appointment will have to be allowed to make all of the critical decisions. A lot of managers with senior reputations have clauses on selection and transfer dealings written into their contract terms. The role of Reed is interesting, as he is very much a Marmite character in the game, and may effect who might be willing to adapt to the Saints way...
