  1. Just got back and share this view, and feeling sorry for the players who looked committed and knackered. They deserve to be set up / instructed better without the costly shoe-ins. Stephens particularly awful today. McCarthy kept us in it first half so there was always going to be Ying and Yang with him, but it was pissing around in our third and lack of willingsness to attack and run to line which killed us off. It was ever thus under Russ. Would love to see Dibling and Fernandes under a decent manager but assume that’s next year and not with saints.
  2. I suppose that you can only go on personal experience when evaluating a public straw poll. I haven't missed a home game under Martin, last season and this. I attend with my kids and extended family / friends and talk to those around me, a mixed bag sociologically. Also get to observe, absorb and hear what many around me think - it's a football match. On that basis I think a majority can see that Martin is out of his depth and drowning and that the Board are too inept to take affirmative action. Fans are currently more exasperated than compliant or indeed empathetic. I reckon the recent polls on here are about right. Now, I could be sitting amongst the SFC version of the Baader Meinhoff Gang, but doubt it. Personally, I don't think we are too far off seeing majority opinion at the next few home games in the same way it was expressed towards Nathan Jones - apathy to anger. All of this is on the Board, all of it is avoidable - that's the frustration.
  3. Think that the only people who want to stick with it are Russell Martin and Lucy, the Sport Republic brains trust, and the half dozen fluffers they've planted on here.
  4. Well he's no Nathan Jones, that's for sure!
  5. Rasmus Ankersen's de Goldmine Effekt podcast I believe?
  6. Sunday afternoon - you've been slotted!...
  7. Assuming you are a rival Premier League manager, coach, or kit man, it's a heart Sheaf old chap!
  8. We are indeed a joy to watch, from the opposition technical area.
  9. Koeman was a superstar and bona fide legend for Barca and Holland in teams full of superstars. A playing hero of mine so was biased when he managed us, but enjoyed his time at the same level as McMenemy - we are just little Southampton, well so fucking what!
  10. The do seem happy to spend money, just wish they'd find the £12m apparently needed to send Rusty & the Relegators packing. Maybe Kraft, Ankersen, and Hoover could contribute their performance bonuses.
  11. Excellent summary of where things are.
  12. Christ that top side would be an easy watch. I would have to get Golac, Williams, Keegan and Channon in there but either way likely wins the league.
  13. I think Wigley was 9 points in 14 games in the Prem for Saints, so currently being hammered by Russell's 4 from 11 in the worst manager stakes.
  14. He really luffs them...
  15. Plus a much cheaper hot dog.
  16. Then why not just stop.
  17. Should be taking extra training sessions not fucking about on Western Shore.
  18. One thing I do like about Mickey, despite the shortcomings you mention, is that he always uses spellcheck and fucking paragraphs...
  19. Heard that Dragan has identified an up and coming Chinese Irish manager to replace Rusty - Haw Fackin Long
  20. Could see that Badger.
  21. Yes really, that's a perception held by a good many apparently! No, we don't need to go there again, but it's clearly the thought that counts.
  22. I genuinely think Championship teams would also think twice. He's consecutively underachieved in two divisions at a relatively large club with relatively substantial resources, and the CV has very little success as player or coach. Could see him back at a club like MK Dons, possibly low end Championship on a substantial pay cut once the inevitable SFC severance pay runs out.
  23. Plus a German international centre half on the Xbox and Der Kaiser a shoe in. Escape to Victory levels.
  24. Probably £55m seeing as he managed to outmanoeuvre Ryan Roberto Carlos Manning...
