EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United plan to sign Adam Lallana
colehillsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Same old story of people confusing what they think will happen, with what they want to happen, as they are typing it! Hope he doesn't go though. Has really been pivotal in leading for us this season with game changing performances at times. -
Fans develop loyalty to managers and players and find it hard when they are discarded or left behind. Our club have been very lucky in that the current manager and his two predecessors have in different ways done a first class job.

Yep. IMHO the best reason for going with a company vehicle is if your driving style tends to be hard on the car. If you want to make the most money, buy a solid second hand Skoda, VW or BMW, with about 60k on it, letting the first owner take the big depreciation, and drive it with care. If you like the smell of brand new cars, let the company buy it and drive it how you want to, knowing that it won't effect you or even effect the company much when it's sold at auction after 2 or 3 years. Over the last few years the 320's have been the ultimate blend of desirability and tax efficiency. Fuel cards on the other hand are an expensive luxury, and if your company don't mind you are better off claiming 18p per mile for your business mileage, ensuring that your monthly claim is a bit less than your vat receipts for fuel. Back to La Rosiere with the family for me. Really enjoyed it last year with a big group of family and friends, and appreciated some advice received on here. Hopefully some work put in to be a bit fitter for the holiday will pay off.

People should really be turning up and filling SMS to watch this team.

Common sense really. Do clean the car properly and take care over the photo and description to show it in its best light. Don't let anyone test drive the car uninsured. Don't let anyone take the car anywhere until you have a cleared payment for it!

Has anyone got decent 76 cup final memorabilia?
colehillsaint replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
Don't know if it's the same thing but I've got a mirror with a picture of the cup and a list of the players. It's in a nice red frame in our bathroom. -
Your favourite Saints players that weren't popular?
colehillsaint replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
I actually liked Skacel. I'm not alone. We have get togethers in a phone kiosk. -
Don't worry mate. That extra point will give him a target for the next 19 ;-)

He is the clueless bumpkino to take us to the next level.

I for one am relieved that MoPo is as good as Adkins. I was worried that it was a massive risk when we made the change. Big of you to flag it up now as well because I think you voiced many reservations at the time ;-)

Precisely.

Too soon, and too much negative momentum?

Nigel was brilliant for us. It is hard for anyone to argue against that with any real credibility, without an axe to grind. I for one was surprised he took the Reading job. A real error of judgement. I did think he was brighter than that and would have waited for a better bet! I hope he proves that wrong but I don't think he will.

I don't understand the mentality sometimes. I go to football to be entertained really. I honestly doubt that we are ever going to be champions of Europe, but at least these days we seem to be capable of putting out a really entertaining football team. Osvaldo and his effect on Gaston looked like more fun than you could shake a stick at and I don't see MP letting him run riot in the long term. That's me done for another 4 months!

I'm 48 and once every 6 months I still have the same vivid nightmare that its the beginning of the final term of my engineering degree and I suddenly realise that I haven't been to a lecture all year. Talked about scarred!

I would try and get to test drive an A3 and a 1 series and see which he prefers. A few years ago I had both as loaners while other cars were being serviced and I prefered the A3 practicality and quality feel to the 1 series which felt a bit cheap, had counter intuitive controls, and was hard to see out of, making for a more stressful drive. If you like a sporty drive BMW rear wheel drive is a plus point. Check the current emissions levels as this impacts on CC Tax. BMW was miles ahead on this, but I think Audi are catching up recently.

Time to wait a year or two and see how their careers develop, rather than weekly debate swings as matches are won or lost, IMHO.

SAINTS 0-3 West Bromwich Albion // Post-Match Reaction
colehillsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Entertaining game anyway and fair play to West Brom. Thought their team and fans came out of this very well today. I thought we were shocking defensively and have been due a lesson for a few weeks in that department, with Hooiveld and Fox returning to early season form more each week. Any talk of top half ambition will need to be backed up by keeping Luke Shaw this Summer, for my money. The Ramirez thing was a shame. I like watching him play and thought he was doing well. Mayuka came on and I thought he looked capable of getting on to a Ramirez pass. Then Ramirez is pulled back; the ref thinks its an advantage to drag another player 25 yards and Ramirez isn't mature enough to keep his cool! We would have a lot to do to be anywhere near top six. I think there is more than one window needed to make that happen personally, if it is possible for us. Centre backs are not good enough, and the squad is too thin all over, but talk of us going down now is just tosh. -
It's a great place for the ground. What else would be happening on that site? It's good for walking in from many parts of the city. The car travel from the M271 was made worse by the lights to exit IKEA, but getting traffic away from a football ground is always fraught. It's a bit odd that the work on the Redbridge roundabout was not left until May.

Ramiez, time to settle or not good enough?
colehillsaint replied to southamptonfclegend's topic in The Saints
Thank you. And for everyone else who mentions crap free kicks on this thread from now on I want the clause "except that really good one" inserted, or you will be marked down for blatant negative exaggeration! -

In the interest of accuracy, not all of his free kicks were rubbish. The delivery for Lamberts chance that didn't cross the line was fast and accurate, which I guess is what MP was seeing when he got him to take them. Are people only capable of retrieving 10 minutes of game from their heads? I think we will keep seeing him hauled off on 60 minutes, when he seems to lose the plot. Hopefully he will mature, but who knows?
