I just want to say that if any of you have mislaid a cat/bicycle/pencil case I am staying up to type "shared Dorset"

This Facebook post made me laugh: Be the first person ever on facebook to say you don't don't worship your * kids/dad/mum/grandma/wife/husband/aunt/uncle/cousin/niece/nephew/step son/step daughter/dog walker/post man/lolly pop granny/best friend by saying publicly you think they are ****wits and clueless ****s but you are stuck with them (unfortunately). Go on!

A lot of fleet cars are sold on low emissions! Could have big implications. BMW engines have had very good figures on this in the last 10 years so you have to wonder.

Nigel Adkins Interview (Saints YouTube channel, Monday)
colehillsaint replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
Great video. My son is leaving home for his first term at Uni this weekend, and I'm quite emotional about it to be honest. Watching Saints together over those two seasons gave us some very happy memories that came at just the right time for us really. Will always be greatful for those times so thanks Nige! -
Is it right for the media to use images of refugee tragedy?

Yes, and my take is that if she wants it forgotten it's quite big of her to mention it one more time. -

Just seems like a very eloquent and statesmanlike thing to say. I wish some of our politicians could delineate right and wrong like that, instead of sounding like they have a vox pop jack lead shoved up there arse. -
Until Les Reed can expand the population of Southampton to 11 million and convince top players that they should sign a new contract every 10 minutes precluding the interest of world football minnows Liverpool and Manchester United, I to will remain deeply sceptical. Not really. Thank you because at least reading stuff like the OP makes me yurn for the simple pleasure of watching a game of football.

Basically my question, but relating to France! Alternatively, anyone know of a sports bar in the Sarlat/Gourdon area?
-
You don't. You don't like the bloke so to keep on writing about him would just be tedious and stupid.

You should keep a small amount of urine handy as an addition to their beverage, so the taste matches the humiliation implied by use of the drinking vessel. Trick missed I think.

You are right, it's not really a fairy tale in terms of "poverty stricken football club rises against all the odds" but it is great when a few thousand supporters who have stuck with an unfashionable little club like AFCB get their time in the sun, for whatever reason. If something doesn't happen to flout the normal order every so often what is the point?

Thanks for the serious and jovial responses, both of which are appreciated. Don't go to away games for years at a time so very much looking forward to it [emoji4]

Making a rare away trip for this with my son. We are taking the car to go on to visit family in the north. Having never been to Liverpool, let alone Goodison, I would be grateful for advice on the best place to aim to leave the car.

I love reading this forum.

The only way we could profit from him now is to chain him up in a basement in the forest and sell him for sex with batty rich widows.

I've always assumed he is some sort of secret service plant, or just a tracer signal from deep space.

Cost of your car in relation to income?
colehillsaint replied to jawillwill's topic in Motoring Forum
Ummm. I bet your not brave enough to phone the revenue and ask about who if anyone has a benefit in kind from the personal use of your car? ? -

If you have a "company car" for business and personal use, that is to say a car that is paid for with a company's money, before deduction of any corporation or other taxation, you have to pay tax on it. I would suggest you should be paying tax on it if you aren't, or it's not really a company car! -
If it's about personality Guy Martin should just win every year.

We are second in the league. Liverpool will not be lending us anything.

Amongst other things, I am in quarrying, which I think is the same as mining. I support Saints. I could probably organise an Alfa if this would help.

Ohh cripes. We're going to look a bit silly! Perish the thought.

I would absolutely love a cup final, let alone an actual win. It is a shame that it does not represent such a big deal in the media, but I think from the viewpoint of a set of fans enjoying the buildup and the day, the experience would be just the same as it always has been. The only time as a fan that you can imagine not being fussed about a cup run would be in the midst of a championship to premier league promotion campaign, if you believed it was yours to throw away. At our level it has just got so much more exciting because we just have such a great chance in the cups now.
-
Can I ask what size company you are running, to form your opinion on? Just sentiment wouldn't be a great plan I agree, but a bit of loyalty and trying to do the right thing works just fine.

I would say the events of the summer have finally put Nigel Adkins contribution and general conduct in perspective for the vast majority, bar the odd crank. He is a good manager, with a very strong code of ethics given the context of the modern game, and I think that most think it a shame that circumstances lead him to take on the downward spiral that is Reading, when he might of prospered elsewhere. Hopefully he will get another good chance at some point.
