  1. That's very positive. Well done. It's just a little unnerving with your track record on predictions this season.
  2. Nah. The whole situation played into their hands today. Also you haven't got the pitch proximity for the kind of player intimidation we used to do at the Dell. I think utterly s*** is very harsh.
  3. Me too. Went with the start of the heavy cold that's going around and my bloody throat is shattered tonight. I can properly talk without any noise coming out. Going to palace on Monday as well.
  4. Spot on (as ever if you don't mind me saying). I'm really enjoying the tension. If we do get there we will be better for having been through it.
  5. Absolutely. He looked like Gascoigne in the cup final. Nigel will have learnt he doesn't need to wind him up for a big game today.
  6. Our support was full of tension, which is not surprising given what we are playing for. They had absolutely nothing to loose today. They are f*****d anyway.
  7. Should take this very seriously IMHO. My intel connections think they will be landing at Shamrock Quay in mini subs camouflaged as crocodiles.
  8. Would not even consider for a second wanting us to lose. Would not happen anyway. Our team and manager are better than that.
  9. Made me laugh. I actually like to just sit there and take it all in occasionally when a game has been really significant. I rush around all week so what is the rush at 5.00 on Saturday afternoon? Unfortunately the kids keep on until I get up these days. I have been told I've got to go by the stewards, but they don't seem up for any comedy chase scenarios.
  10. That wasn't the original question. You can't be serious about the fire drill surely. The whole place is 99.9% steel and concrete.
  11. Just in case it clears this up; for the people who always leave early, THEY DON'T MAKE THE REST OF US CLEAR ALL THE CHAIRS AWAY OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT AT THE END.
  12. I would like a draw. Perhaps because of the gap, I think today again we looked relaxed, patient and professional, and our fans didn't start to panic, (one of our great strengths of late). If they draw, we will be a minimum of 3 points clear going into the skate game, whatever our result at Blackpool.
  13. Thankfully it will be the same dans le chateau Adkins
  14. I thought he was great to watch. Gascoigne and Letiss rolled into one as they said at the time.
  15. Intresting thread, but our goal difference would suggest we are making some of our own luck.
  16. Yeah, godammit ;-)
  17. I fall in the former group. But I can see that you are right about loyal support not getting tickets, which will really p1ss people off. On the other hand I remain to be convinced that we would routinely sell out in the prem now. People are quite hard pressed. I am very surprised we haven't got more in lately tbh. The big factor with away support must be seeing fewer wins surely. I want us to go up. In time we will otherwise turn to dross.
  18. I should think for many it comes down to whether you follow Saints home or away. Away, your club of hardcore support is going to get watered down by the more casual fan out for the spectacle, and you may be looking at 2 or 3 wins a season. But at home the city is back on the map, the stadium is full, and you see us sometimes beating teams with some of the best players around.
  19. Tbf we made very hard work of Millwall at SMS, even when we were right on form. Our style may just not work on the way they are set up. Hopefully that bodes well for Tuesday night.
  20. I have found it all really funny so you won't get insults from me. I think the mistake you made was thinking about money being spent and volume of signings. I know little about the real ability of most potential signings that get mentioned, but it was pretty obvious after 5 or 6 games that the work ethic and team spirit that had been built here was going to make us at least competitive at this level. That will be true however the seasons finishes up.
  21. I heard the solent interview in the car and he said that lee virtually made the goal and it was a tap in. Sorry to be pedantic. Great second half. I think the better weather and squad fitness will start to tell for us now. Fox playing was a surprise, even though some on here said he would. The club seem very adept at getting players back and running from knocks and strains quickly. Case in point; Adam Lalana looks as fit as f*** after the groin strain a few games ago. COYR
  22. Their are a lot of kids and teens in the chapel. Great thread. Is anyone else waiting for Dalek? His posts make me laugh, but I appreciate they irritate some.
  23. 47, live in wimborne, latterly educated in portsmouth, (know your enemy), grew up in swanage. First game was against liverpool at the dell in the late 70's, having been taken to the game by a family friend. Started going to home games regularly after a game against villa in the autumn of 94. Letiss was a different class, I got hooked, and had a ST in the Milton from 95 onwards, moving to the Chapel at SMS. I missed the dutch experiment season, because I just felt that Rupert was taking the p155 by then, and it was really starting to depress me! First away game was against Sunderland at Roker Park in 98 I think. Now I take the kids to every home game. I respect those on here that clearly have a great knowledge, and a deeper commitment to the club. Regular away supporters in particular are a different breed, in a good way. My post count tends to reflect the fact that I only want to comment if I think I have something to add!
  24. I am sure I went to that game with my brother. It was a key game in us staying up and them going down. Was it their last season at Roker Park?
