  1. Why would we want to do that we played well against a good team and our boys need more games to learn and improve! This is a transition season where we are blooding players we are not seriously in a position to challenge for promotion! If we succeed our players will rise in value and with a few judicious sales and purchases we can begin to build a serious promotion winning team. Filling the team up with too many journeymen (we need two or three max for experience) will deny our younger players experience and will get us nowhere. Currently our financial situation is such we have no alternatives! Every strategy has risks and with this one we must hope out team learns and matures quickly enough to hold a good mid table position and allow us to push on! I currently see no reason why they cannot if they continue to build on the early season style!!
  2. Lighten up everybody we have to sell to survive and the youngsters need time to settle in! We dont have any choices in the matter we have to sell whenever we can. The good news is we do have some good youngsters they will try their best and seek to improve as they try to forgew a career in a very competative proffession and they are happy to play and prove themselves on low (or even lowe) wages! No other options exist other than a fairy godmother with bags of cash! If it happens great but I am right behind the current strategy of playing within our means rather than spending above our means hoping some rich person will bail us out as a hobby!
  3. A good sensible post amongst a lot of early season as yet unjustified panic!
  4. Agree a certain Martin Chivers also left just after promotion to lots os critiscism in the 60's to allow a young Mick Channon to make his debut coming up from the youth team I know which of those two I would now rather have! Some of our best players over the recent years have come up through the youth leagues to replace players sold on others include Matt Letiss, Alan Shearer, Rodney Wallace, Steve Williams, Steve Moran , Graham Baker and more recently Bridge, Wallcot and Bale. So let us not give up on the youngsters to quickly what they need is the support, encouragement and time to to mature
  5. Two games gone and I am for one am pleased that we are playing attractive football. A team full of youngsters most of whom have hardly played in front of crowd above 1500 and we almost hold and indeed at times outplay the favourites for promotion and a team that almost stayed up in the premiership! I believe we need a bit of patience and the lads need some encouragement before we throw in the towel! Anbyway what choice do we have it is really the youngsters or administration and a 15 point minimum deduction!
  6. They might be going down but he has a four year contract at on a Preimiership salary! A bit more than we would have got with us?

  8. Every season brings its own brand of excitement but i must admit to looking forward to seeing a team playing their hearts out looking to improve and forge a career in the game rather than a load of expensive has beens whose main aim is to avoid injury and lengthen a fast diminishing career!
