Who is funding businesses in which they dont own the share capital? With the exception of the club ower directors like Abramovich Only banks and funding institutions would do so and in the current circumstances only with gurantees against the assets and an interest rate to reflect the risk and current availability of cash in the markets! A director offering a club cash in such circumstanes would usually want it treated as a loan with various strings attached and these strings are likely to be at the expense of the shareholder investment and therefore likely to be turned down by the board who are elected to represent the shareholders!

Would Crouch really put up 2 million to be spent by a board dominated by Lowe and Wild. surely he would be better off using the 2m to buy more shares and attempt to retake control. The truth is no one wants to put 2m into a "sinking ship"! Unfortunately as can been seen by many companies currently experiencing similar debt/asset ratios in the credit cunch, you will get more value for your pounds "when the ship is sunk" than when it is sinking! If the club goes down 2m will probably buy the whole club outright (all debt included of course)!

We had no choice but to go with youth and needed a cheap coach experienced in coaching youth players hence JP Pearson needed money which we didnt have and to maintain the key players in his squad we would be in administration! There was no choice in the matter!

Sounds like you are just the man to have this converstaion with a bank! Do you think they care! selling players means money to them now not the risky "jam tomorrow" you are offering! Unfortunately banks are not in the risk business and if given the choice will always take money now over future profits. Equity investment on the other hand is there to seek future returns and if we have a good business case and start performing well then maybe we can attract appropriate investment. So keeping players is dependant on performance good football and increasing gates that is our only way out!

I dont believe 6000 fans stayed away because of LOWE! How about contributions from 1) The fact the team was unknown 2) The credit crunch and prices 3) The cost of fuel Also first game last season was a London side Crystal Palace who brought plenty of support for their first game of the season! Some of these may also have an effect! If the team contuinues to play good football hopefully the fans will come back!

It is standard peer pressure no kids like to be associated with a crisis club as they get teased at school remorselessly. It is a matter of confidence and although most will say things to avoid being teased secretely they still have a soft spot for the team! We shouldnt blame the kids! What we need to do is get behind the team and urge them on as success has many followers!

Why does it matter how we got into this hole? what really matters is how do we get out!

Agreed our only way out is to establish a team based on youth, anchor our position in the CCC and then slowly try to build a promotion team through judicious trading! This season is critical so lets get behind the youngsters who need all the support and confidence we can muster to succeed!
