Agreed however I am sure that Pardew and cortese discussed the likelhood of us being in the playoffs before making most the investments we have! so if that was the case we are possibly failing against the targets agreed to between them!

As a fan agreed but as an owner and investor that has sunk millions into the club in order to get to the play offs in the hope of some return on the investment via the bigger gates and TV that would generate would you still be happy?

True but let us look at some perspective We are a league 1 side who has spent some £3m on transfers already this season! we have outspent all league one sides and probably all championship sides as well as many Premier sides. Many sides in our divison have never paid more than 300k for a player. We are not yet seeing the results and hence the frustration! We are not even in the playoffs with the 10 points added back! When we should have concievably expected to be at least top 3 without the 10 point penalty. We need at least 70 to 75 points to make the playoffs giving us a whopping 37 to 42 to get in just 18 games left! This is one hell of a target! The FA and Tin pot cup will not even cover the half the investment made to date and hence the need to make the play offs! I can fully understand Cortese's frustration at the recent league results.

with the number of games we now have confirmed this season (46 league 2 league cup p5 JPT and 5 FA cup) we need a good squad system so yes they are necessarry to help weather rotation injuries and suspensions.

These guys will be scared s***less by a derby game and will freeze! Derby and cup heroes are often unsung!

like Manu beat leeds and Stoke beat Arsenal and reading beat Liverpool! They will be Sh**ing themselves! We have nothing to lose and all to gain the underdogs with 80% of the support and a full stadium!
