  1. Great post and well said!
  2. Yes we had a bad a start with Plymouth, but then the win over Bournemouth is suddenly looking much better given they tonked a supposed fellow promomotion rival Peterbourough 5-1! Let us get 10 games behind us to give us some stastical basis from which we can then all draw more valid conclusions!
  3. Good Save Davis
  4. OK season starts here!
  5. Llllllllaaaaannnnna
  6. I promise not to moan if we win 4-0
  7. Surely Pardew had seen what happened to norwich yesterday and warned our lot about complacency!
  8. just remember Norwich lost 6-2 at home in their first match! Howeverthe absence of some midfield creativity was so so so clear! we just couldn't break them down!
  9. Our performances on TV and on the first day are always crap!
  10. very poor and the lack of a different plan is so predictable! Why are we so bad at starting seasons!
  11. If Cortese is trying to ensure all at the club do a solid job I am 100% behind him if those that don't like the idea of doing a solid job are frightened by this surely all they have to do is resign! Cortese is entitled to his views on how the league is financed as is any other chairman and he is also entitled to make his views known to other chairman to lobby for support if he is not pleased with the way the league is acting! I see nothing wrong with any of this whatsoever and Indeed I would rather see an active Chairman interested in what is good for my club than one who just follows the flock!
  12. My understanding was that he is fairly confident his current squad will be ok but he is looking to strengthen (maybe after Sept 1st when the premier lot have to announce their 25 man squads meaning some decent players could come avialable causing a trickle down effect)!
  13. Look at this way, the more corporate guests the less need to raise ticket prices for the rest, or even the more money available to invest in players. Companies usually pay for these as part of their marketing costs to attract and retain clients!
  14. Why splash out premier level wages on a player who will be too old by the time we get there! I believe in building up the squad as we rise in exactly the way we have been doing to date. In this way we try to keep the books as close to balancing as we can! Look what happened to poopy by buying silly!
  15. Wouldn't that just be great! that means approx 2.2 points and goals a game required a tough target!
  16. Would rather have three or four committed experienced Championship level players for the same price!
  17. Why the surprise about Pardew saying he is happy with what he has got? This is exactly what you would say prior to any negoiations!
  18. Me too! Dont really see them as rivals but am pleased at the progress they made. Now it is our turn to get back to our real level too!
  19. Agreed both articles are embarassing!!
  20. Bit like your lot with the UEFA application then!
  21. Bit worrying that Walcotts on 100 to 1 and he isn't even picked! What does that say about Heskey!
  22. I thought they have already borrowed against these to allow them to pay wages and to provide some of the funds for the football and CVA creditors. Pretty sure most creditors would never agree 20p in the pound payments against debt with them keeping the parachute payments.
  23. Why would anyone pay now? the longer they wait the more the wages kill pompey the lower their price gets!
  24. Sorry, if that is your point, I am in total agreement, I must admit the sarcasm in your original post wasn't initially obvious! Israel always tries to line itself up with the Democratic West against their Autocratic neighbours. However it is often forgotten that they were quite prepared to act in the same unlawful and ruthless way to get their aims against the British in the late 40's after WW2. As the British army attempted to stop their takeover of the country by new zionist immigrants using a mixture of terror immigration (from europe and the US) and a little ethnic cleansing. The Zionists were armed with then modern weapons bought as usual with US donated money. (A bit like the US Irish community funded the IRA in the 1970's) They conducted a reign of terror to frighten out the original population (who were mainly simple farming people) and bombed such places likethe King Davids Hotel as well as kidnapping hanging and killing many British soldiers at the time! They also I believe assisinated the new United Nations representative as it bacame clear he was looking to implement a solution based on partition between the palestinians and the immigrant zionists whils they wanted the whole of what they call Eretz Israel (Biblical Greater Israel covering palestine the west bank of the jordan the Siniai and parts of Syria) involving nations representative. These were the first acts of modern 19th century terrorism in this blighted land!
