  1. Because these quotes were rubbishing your spurious assumption that he was averse to working with youth etc etc etc. If you want some quotes that he wanted to stay, then I'm sure I could find enough. You just carry on believeing Pearson dipped out of his own accord and Lowe was forced into replacing him:rolleyes::rolleyes:
  2. Sorry, but Pearson was desperate to stay on and work under whoever was at the helm here. The idea that he dipped out because he didnt like using youngsters, that he cost too much, or that Milan had tapped him up (be that Mandaric, AC or Inter) is just not true. Lowe had his replacements lined up even before he had his feet in the door (and there is enough evidence out there to confirm this) and Pearson was always going to be replaced.
  3. It is an assumption that has absolutely no basis in fact. Pearson was fully aware of our financial constraints and was fully aware that youth would play a greater part this season. He was used to working with youngsters in the England set up. Here's what Pearson was saying in March: "I worked with the /England youth teams for three years and I see the Academy as a massive part of the club. I have worked at clubs where the academy and first-team are separate entities and not integrated at all and those clubs are the poorer for it. If you put the right effort into recruiting and developing the right players then it can save the club a lot of money on transfer fees." Hardly the words of someone who wasn't prepared to work with youth, in fact the middle sentence is actually very close to the "revolutionary coaching set up". Poortvliet was a conscious choice by Lowe, so please spare us the idea that it was forced on him by Pearson dipping out:rolleyes::rolleyes:
  4. How many games did he play argument??? A brilliant response. The answer of course is none, but he oversaw a season of three managers and an overall policy that was tantamount to commiting Football Hari Kari. Quite simply, you cannot delegate responsibility. Then maybe you should get your head out of your ar5e and actually read and appreciate what people have said in the past. When Lowe was due praise he certainly go it from me (in fact I'm sure GM can dig out my post circa 2003 or 2003 where I give him handsome praise), so to suggest otherwise just shows you up a being flexible in your genda and not willing to accept that people can judge him by his actions and resuts. Additionally he was rewarded handsomely in his wage packet for his success. (BTW life didn't begin with the Premiership and we have finished higher) Firstly, I personally don't think you achieve much by taking part n the blame culture, but where it is valid is in ensuring we don't repeat our past mistakes. Lowe has made too many, he has lost the fanbase again and we as a Club are losing as a result of his persistence of doing it his way. Now you're a full member, then maybe you can do some reading as well as posting, as only this morning in a reply to St Throbber I outlined a number of different choices or routes we could have followed. I have said it would be financially tough from the minute we got relegated. Sadly you and others mocked that claim at the time as anti Lowe hype, when in fact it was spot on and telling it like it was. Lowe didn't leave his Club in a robust position, he left it fatally holed below the waterline. Times are indeed tough, BUT that does not mean we had to go down the route of this revolutionary coaching set up. Lowe appointed Poortvliet and Lowe is driving the Club at the moment. Financial constraints may limit some our choices, but from what I have seen so far, the choices he has made have been poor. Do you even go and watch games, because you sem to be in another world to most????
  5. I thought you were supportive of the new set up???? Have I got that wrong, or have you seen enough to have a rethink???? I personally don't like giving it to someone without giving them a real go at it, but I am beginning to wonder if we should do a Wigley with this bloke and fire him!!!!!!!! Some of the stuff we are still seeing is very worrying.
  6. I honestly worry that it won't be long before we are having bucket collections outside SMS to pay the wages of our current team!!!!!!!!!!!! As for this idea, it certainly is positive (in a negative context) and at the same time very admirable. However, I just think apathy rules OK and no one would be ar5ed to do it. If, by a miracle it did happen, then I would suggest that you got something back for your donations (ie shares at a discounted price). I would also like to think that other shareholders did their bit as well (although I wouldn't be holding my breath on that).
  7. 0 points So a grand total of 5 points for me (just a bit down on Jan's 6 or 7 wins or whatever it was)
  8. I don't think anyone has spent more than one second considering that point, mainly because it is such a ridiculous claim. Deary, deary me. You must be the only person out there who wold have persevered with Wigley. Fciuk me, even Lowe knew he had to call time on that pi655 awful appointment. You are excusing the poor performances in that statement itself! As I have pointed out elsewhere, we have had numerous different options and choices despite the financial problems. the most obvious of which is the appointent of the revolutionary coaching set up. Then you must have been in your own little bubble if you missed all he bollcoks being spouted on the OS and in The Echo about the revolutionary coaching set up and total football spin, spin, spin. With you Lowe was not to blame for relegation and now he is not to blame for our current predicament. He's your real life Mr Teflon isn't he:rolleyes::rolleyes:
  9. They will go in January, no doubt about that. The bank will demand the money is used to reduce the overdraft as simple as that.
  10. The seeds were sown the moment we got relegated. We were't financially robust upon relegation, and lost £16m cash on normal operations (if you take away the one off parachute payment) in Lowe's first season down. At some point it was always going to bite us on the ar65e, as the Club's infrastructure and cost base cannot be supported in this division, something the current Football Club Chairman has stated on here. I'm actally surprised we hae lasted as long as we have!!!!!!!!! We were always going to have to cut back at some point, and that would have been solely down to our revenue dropping from near £50m to below £15m! Hone's £3m, £4m, £5m overspend on wages last season isn't the reason we are now cutting back (as we should actually have implemented the cutbacks of Plan B before that overspend even happened). We should have cut back last summer and there can be no excusing Hone's refusal to do so. It certainly added to the debt, but we would have been cutting back regardless of those stupid actions. Of course they may have made some of the cuts a little deeper, but the cuts stem from relegation. And then we move on this season. Of course we have been financially constrained in what we do, but we still had choices to make and different options to take. We could have gone for an alternative manager to Jan. We could have considered an alternative style of play. We could have brought in alternative players to the 8 or 9 we did. We could have concentrated all the money spent on the 8 or 9 players in getting in a couple of hardnosed CCC experienced palyers to augment the talented youngsters. We could have concentrated all the money spent on the 8 or 9 players in working hard to retain some of the existing quad. We could have done alot of footballing things differently during the close season. And with regards leadership we could have gone for an alternative set up in the boardroom, but no one, including Crouch, looked beyond themseves as an alternative. We could have looked to have formed a board and leadership that the supporters would have respected, trusted and as a result would have rallied around, but instead the main players fought amongst themselves for control of the hot seat.
  11. But Lowe would argue that he has 10 years experience of the game, has worked with some senior managers etc etc etc. We have a DOF, it's just not been publicly acknowledged for fear of the backlash it would cause.
  12. Could it be that the dismissal/mutual parting of NP was purely down to money. Pearson's dismissal was nothing to do with money and nothing to do with Pearson not wanting the job enough. It was solely down to Lowe wanting to appoint his own man and a revolutionary coaching set up that he could oversee (and influence).
  13. Of course it's the norm and it was all contractual, but why are people paid such significant sums for failing?????? They should have been packed with **** all IMHO.
  14. I have never understod how or why people get massive pay offs after they are kicked out of office. And spot on for pointing out how much those took out from the club after they were kicked out as I'm sure in a few weeks time they ill be moanin about the lack of funds. If things are that tight then oan your pay offs back!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. We may have few choices, but we appear to have got most of those "few" choices wrong, be they choice of manager, choice of players brought in, positions strengthened, priorities, tactics and style of play etc etc etc. Let's not use the financial predicament and lack of choices to excuse the poor performances on and off the pitch (particularly when the Chairmen, OS, Head Coach et al were promising us so much from ths revolutionary coaching set up). PS I suppose you would have persevered with Wigley as well.
  16. Totally agree. Lowe will not sack Jan as he knows that he will have to walk as well and there is no chane of him doing that. He will persever with this mad experiment until the end.
  17. Radio Hampshire just had that part of the interview on (was it a repeat) and he spoke all around the question. I was laughing with the missus as we were both trying to understand exactly what he was trying to say. He seemed really shell shocked and almost unable to give a straight answer.
  18. Love you to bits fella, but think you have to be over here in the city to really appreciate just how people are feeling. I came back off hoilday ready to be surprised (particularly after the Derby game), but have now seen one performance of any real promise. I also don't think people are being pessimistic, just honest and realistic. I still hope that for every game we can kickstart our season, so I'm definitely an optimist some times. Life is indeed too short, I have accepted we're in the shy7e, and have done for a while now. So off into town in a minute to have a few beers and perve from a distance (i'm way too old to be on the pull!!!). Admire your optimism, but just think you have to see how bad it is to get an all round perspective.
  19. Normally like listening to him, but he didn't come across very well on Hampshire tonight. Seemed exasperated, said we never looked like scoring and struggled to really understand exactly what he was saying and what he was getting at. He seemed a little bit mesmerised by it all.
  20. You're 4 year old is more observant than many conected to the Club!!!!
  21. You sadist. I'm reporting you to social services
  22. as at least we would win more games in Div 3:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
  23. Get a seat in the corporates, support the players, but give Lowe a ficucking earful would be my advice.
  24. Will half term boost the crowd at all?????? If not, could be sub 14,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Bottom three if my maths is correct!!!!!!!!!!!
