Stout rock! Another reason to love Surman. -
No, but I lost my page in the mills and boon I was reading. Most distressing.

Agree with many on here - it was a fantastic team display and I don't think anyone was off their game today. Also - it was the best atmosphere I've seen at SMS for a long time. I missed last week (typically) but today must have been a real continuation from that. There was a period at the start of the second half when Cardiff suddenly looked much more up for it, and we were starting to have to soak up pressure, but the Northam got the rest of the ground going with the 'red and white' clapping thing, and it really seemed to lift the players. Suddenly we were on top again, causing them problems. Feels like it's been a long time since the crowd have had such a positive impact. Amazing what one win can do...

Got a standing ovation where I was (Kingsland). Don't see that too often...

Really enjoyed it. I didn't know anything about Clough's time at Leeds (I was only 3 at the time) but found it fascinating and totally convincing. Interesting to blend the lines between fact and fiction so much. The trailer for the film looks ace too. http://sky.mymovies.net/default.asp?filmid=8244&trid=4200

Legend. Just as Le Tiss will never blot his copybook for me, thanks to his goals throughout his saints career, Morrissey can do no wrong thanks to The Smiths' songs that got me through my teenage years.

After a decent run out on Saturday, I thought McLaggon looked out of sorts yesterday. He kept falling over (he changed his boots about 5 minutes before half-time, so he probably had the wrong studs on) and I think he lost a bit of confidence after his third 'ice-capade'. He'll come good, I think; he's already got more presence than some of our right-wing try-outs, but he had a bit of a mare yesterday.

Last time I went in it was fearsomely expensive.

Just embarked on a Warron Zevon binge after reading his biography 'I'll sleep when I'm dead' over Christmas. He's a bit '70's soft rock' in places for my taste, but once you know the tall tales of his life the songs take on a bit of context and some of the lyrics are fantastic. Also loving the 'TV on the Radio' album.

"where are they going to find buyers for a stadium next to a gasworks and a load of ropey prostitutes." Kindly do not besmirch the quality of our prostitutes. We've got enough trouble without the bottom falling out of that market, too.

It's taken over the big 'Fopp Records' site in the Marlands. Bit of a shock after their poky bargate dive.

Sorry - I was trying (and failing) to make an off-colour remark about S Club 7 being 'arsed'. I'll get my coat, too.

Yes - St Landrew - that's exactly the bit that sets me on the way! ESB - I've got the colour-wash version on video somewhere - I'll try and 'make you a back up' if you like?

'twas a great day, and still the only time I've been to Wembley (refuse to go to watch any other team; slightly too young for '76 and '79). Fans were in such good spirits that we even applauded Forest on their 'lap of honour', much to their evident surprise.

'It's a wonderful life' - I'm usually weeping unconsolably by the sixth minute.

That one last week was ace. I knew that Connie was a weasel, I flipping knew it.
-
that blur song, 'this is a lowe'; he loves that. That'll be on next week, mark my words.
-
Has impressed me every time I've seen him, but needs to be central to have a real impact, not so effective cutting in from the right. But still, what effortless control...if he could finish half the moves he starts, he'd be player of the season already.

Jimmy Armfield on the radio. Don't really know whether I agree with his opinions, I just like the soothing effect of his voice. He hasn't been on so much since he was ill, but it's like coming home to a big pot of stew when he is. -

Reading V Saints Post Match thoughts and reaction
Stanley Saint replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
I hate getting drawn into the bit-chier end of things on here, but the fact that so many posters (especially in mountainous regions) took such evident delight in predicting a 5 or 6 nil thrashing today, made the performance and victory even sweeter to those of us who know that we've actually played some superb football this season and got nought for it. C'mon saints, break that home-hoodoo on Tuesday! -
The phrase 'rapidbargain will turn your lost bids into auction credits' seems a little worrying...

Here's my band. On a slight hiatus due to our drummer moving to Wales (and our, um, 'more selective audience appeal' in recent years). Just biding our time, waiting for the right moment to strike the heart of the charts... http://www.myspace.com/accringtonstanley

Saints Greatest ever XI - Goalkeeper Nominations.
Stanley Saint replied to Edmonton Saint's topic in Golden Posts
Ivan Katalinic. Great 'tache, great keeper. Although Shilton was great, we all expected him to be great, so it was no surprise. Everytime Katalinic caught the ball was a cause for celebration. Happy days.
