Southampton have not lost this season to anyone currently in the bottom half of the table. It would be atypical to lose that one.
-
Millwall have won 1 in 7.
-
Yes. 7 clean sheets in 10.

Göztepe Last 5: P5 W5 D0 L0 GF8 GA0 PTS 15

Grenoble had only conceded 4 goals in 10 matches before this one and have not lost this season in pre-season or the league. Lots of positives from that result.
-
Göztepe have only dropped two points since 28th August. 16 from the last 18 available.
-
What about 17 Points from 33. With 105 points still additionally attainable. at that average rate of roughly 1.55 points that puts us about the Play-offs at 72 points for the season.
-
A solution for you then. Feel free not to click on the "Sports Republic" thread when the last contributor says my name then.
-
Given a large portion of our club is now employed by Sport Republic and encompass all three clubs, then it could be argued you don't have a complete picture of Southampton FC if you don't.

Please Look at Valenciennes history. Last year 14th in the French Second Year before 16th in that league. Year before that 11th. It is not "turning to" anything as the bottom half of that league is where they've been recently. I notice you choose not to comment on Göztepes good streak.
-
Göztepe continue with a great run of form. 2 - 0 away against Boluspor No losses in 5 leaves them two points off second. Valenciennes scraped a draw with only their 4th goal of the season in a 1-1 draw against Troyes. Though they're not conceding a huge amount.
-
Did someone sneakily score more goals in our 1-0 defeat against a team only beaten by Leeds in their first 7 games? How is losing by 1 goal instead of 5 getting worse?
-
4 games in was 3 wins 1 draw followed by 3 losses after mass squad changes, Injury to CB Captain and then Injury to other senior Centre Back. Yes its a pain that a lot of pre-season has been rendered moot, but FFS, get a grip.

I remember when Cortese brought in the thinking of "small margins" where little adjustments on many things could make the world of difference. Those who choose to boo are certainly not helping the situation.
-
Mason Holgate had a shocker, which from what I hear came about due to limited or no training time with the team.
-
Fractious meaning for you: difficult to control; unruly.
-
I think we'll have more chance here as we wont have the negativity of the Fans in the stands making the players more fractious. Start almost the team that finished the Ipswich match. Start with the flair players like Sulemana and Alcaraz to give them the chance to fight for a lead, rather than to attempt to claw the ball back. Simple really. against Sheffield Wed our midfield trio was Smallbone Alcaraz JWP. Smallbone played as the DM role and did it well, and we need more experience especially if our two CB's are still fresh in the team.
-
We have been hugely disadvantaged by Stephens Injury, and for Bednarek to be out on Friday was a huge blow. I'm still giving the benefit of the doubt, as the Centre Back pairings will setlle. What I dont however agree with, is having both Smallbone and Downes starting. They cause anonymity in midfield. That looks to have been taken off the table anyway. I would like to see: Bazunu KWP THB Charles Manning Downes Alcaraz A.Armstrong Sulemana Fraser Adams

Altay 0 - 1 Göztepe Göztepe get their first win of the season. The goalscorer Atinç Nukan scored deep into the game. Stats record it at 90+7, he then got two yellow cards before the match was over. P4 W1 D1 L2

Yesterday Valenciennes finished 0 - 0 away against St Etienne. P5 W1 D2 L2 Göztepe are about to kick off in their weekend game away against Altay

Steve Clarke is going to end up sitting on the bench with all these Scottish players.

corrected that in the OP
