OS blabbing on about saints supporters being ejected immediately if they're in the home end but i don't see that happening if there's thousands of us! really should be like dellhurst again. the grandstand is closed all season so no1 can get any tickets in the main bit there. lyndhurst & devonport stands are the best bet to cramb most of us into. i sat in the home end last year when newcastle got promoted and they had their full allocation of 2200 also which takes up most of the barn park end. cracking atmosphere and the janners never sing. it wont even be their last home game of the season so the attendance would be probably under 10,000 without saints fans. think it should accomodate at least 8,000 of us if we want it in total.

jesus. maybe its a good thing that NC doesn't have any friends.

Lets all wear a suit like Markus. It'll be the most upper class football match ever. Sorted. And we can carry cuckoo clocks. And eat toblerones.

never been to a last away game of the season and now it's been re-arranged to take place 15 mins walk from me! what an occasion.

Brendan McGlinchey and Lindsey Hyde

obvious question... what does "particulars changed" mean? a noticable change following the passing of Mr Liebherr? -
there's a player for this league 1 team that isn't starting much for them atm... think his name is Anthony Pulis

I've had this conundrum myself as a coach. I brought in the B team to defend when i wanted to work on attacking and vice versa. Psychologically I just said to my B team that they did well and held their own at times (they didn't!) and when they all develop into the players they can be, they'll have no problem in being as good as that. Would be interested to know if Adkins did similar, although with over 20 players in the team it would be very easy to shuffle it about and use the likes of Martin & Seabourne against Jaidi & Fonte.

Now Oldham have cash flow problems....

Can we have a league table without them? and then one without them and plymouth? thanks. -
Morning, I'm heading up from Plymouth to this one. Got room in the car for 2 maybe 3 more if any one fancies sharing the petrol? Or me and my mate can hop in with another car if any1 wants to drive themselves and save a bit of money? Also, can someone let me know where the best place to park near the ground is please. I don't fancy parking and training and walking and stuff - just a quick drive in, watch the game, drive out again. Cheers.

don't know but the bit on there about the guy who went to coach in asia and australia is v interesting also. why did we let him go ffs? 1 of the only ppl we had at the club that still believed we would win matches when we went a goal or three behind.

SAINTS vs CHARLTON now TUESDAY 5th APRIL!
Red And White Barmy Army replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
why have they been allowed to do this ffs, its at our home as well. By then they will have a manager in place with a settled team and theres the possibility of them having a stronger squad and ours minus chamberlain. did we not think of putting up a little protest? of course it could backfire and we actually strengthen our squad and they lose some players and the 'new manager effect'. just seems like it's their fault for getting rid of a perfectly good manager and then moaning about having to play games before they appoint a new gaffer. -
Oldham V Saints - Second Half Thread

Plymouth down to 9 men. What are they taking? They must be in double figures for red cards this season. -
I came to the first few games this year under Pardew and the last few under Adkins since i've been back in Southampton. I saw a huge difference against huddersfield - possibly helped by the fact that they were trying passing football also which made for a cracking game. We do pass it out from the back a lot more and the midfield players come deeper to receive the ball and keep the ball in midfield for longer. Yesterday wasn't so great - poor at keeping possession in midfield (partly due to Hammond's absence) and played too many long balls for my liking in the 1st half. 2nd half was a bit different cos they left 3 at the back after 2-0 and we seemed to be soaking up the pressure and them hitting them on the counter-attack time after time. I won't complain about yesterday cos we won 4-0 but at the same time I would rather the long balls were a last resort or 'plan B'.

would you loan Bart to BOURNEMOUTH
Red And White Barmy Army replied to patred44's topic in The Saints
had a decent spell when he was 1st choice. then bottled it in the play-off semi and never recovered. i've seen him look out of place in reserve games over the last couple of seasons tbh. -
would you loan Bart to BOURNEMOUTH
Red And White Barmy Army replied to patred44's topic in The Saints
given the fact they are a rival this season, and considering Bart's ability... YES! -
He's staying away in protest against the photo ban.

Shrews ticket prices (and SFC dig at them too!)
Red And White Barmy Army replied to Pancake's topic in The Saints
love it =) never a dull moment with saints. even when announcing ticket prices vs shrewsbury! -
probably been known for a while, but ive only just found out that les reed is an executive director now :/ was this just me?
-
He's played left wing and central midfield. saw a bit of him in CM playing for sheffield united a few years back. not completely out of our reach i would have thought. an ordinary chamionship level player IMO. And the 25 man squad wouldn't mean much if stoke had 22-24 players in their 1st team squad and saw no reason not to add him in just in case 10 players went down with flu before the villa game.

Surprised that candidates are still coming out of the woodwork. Would suggest that the Adkins deal is far from done. This 'opening talks' malarky may well just be another more dramatic way of Sky saying that they're having an interview.
-
Shearer wants it according to BBC South. Would prefer Adkins myself unless there's a KK director of football or maybe even Iain Dowie working alongside him like at Newcastle.

If it's MON then please post a coded picture of an apple. no1 else will be any the wiser...
