I think it is possible that if Poopy are liquidated and it can be proved that they signed those players whilst insolvent then they were in effect inelligable. If thats the case then the FA may look to put us through if we like it or not. I dont think however that they will get canned before the next round as they will some how buy more time on the back of these supposed serious offers.

that would be the same poster I was on about. not you. sometimes its not worth pointing the obvious out to him.

I have given up replying to him. He talks in Facts that are only Fact in his world. and then adds lots of stupid smiley thingys to make his point that much more viable. :raiseyeyesyemoteythingy:

I thought that too but some on here have explained that if a business is proved to have traded whilst insolvent then the directors are personally liable for any debts incured as long as the directors knew they were insolvent. So if Storrie teller and his chums knew Poopy didnt have a hope in hell of paying there bills yet still brought in players and added to the wage bill then it would be Storrie teller and his chums that would be chased to pay anything outstanding. Any debts before the time they knew would be delt with by administrators/liquidators out of any funds raised in selling off the assets. Basically I think if a club is skint then as soon as the directors know they should look to go into admin if there is no way out. (like what we did) That way if all goes belly up then its the business name that is liable and not the directors. Only thing Lowe lost was his pride. Storrie could lose a hell of allot more.

Exactamundo! I think expectations of playoffs or else are off the mark but the ambition to try to get there should be top for everyone at the club. It also looks that the general feeling for the FA Cup is that we should argue the case of Poopy cheating but let Brum have the bye into the next round. If poopy do go bust it looks like it would be the FA that fights for us to be re-instated harder than any of us would as it will be there competition that loses out by missing games late in the competition.
-
I think they need to discuss it as its money and sponsership down the pan if they dont have an idea on what to do. Personally I doubt the PL will let Poopy go under mid season so they dont have to think about any alternative actions. But if the finacial report basically condems Poopy then the courts may bring the March 1st hearing forward and put Poopy out of there misery. If that happens the FA need to know what options are available.
-
Dont think they can. As long as the winding up petition is in place it is out of Poopy directors hands. The only people that can put them into Admin now is the courts and they will only do that if there is a serious chance that debts can be satisfied by any possible buyer. With debts of around 60 mil and a certain 9 or 10 point penalty putting poopy into the CCC next year and a high possability that the new owners would then sell any player on big wages which would in turn put them in another relegation battle. Its very unlikly that a buyer is out there. The taxman is arguing that the above is extremly unlikly and yet more debts will be incured in the mean time so its time to liquidate the club. As soon as we knew we didnt have the funds to continue we went into admin and thankfully ML came to the rescue. Poopy have known they have more going out than coming in since there FA Cup winning season and have just carried on digging the hole they sit in. Maybe we should put a statue of Rupert Lowe at the entrance to Poopy to remind them how they should have run a club badly?
-
It would be great to appeal and Win as it would just show Poopy up even more and show that they cant get anywhere without trying to bend the rules. As for us being re-instated or not I think we should let Brum have the bye and be done with it. We lost on the day due to not putting away our chances. If we had the likes of Quincy and O'Hara wouldnt have had the room on the break and we would have had numbers back to defend. The scoreline wont matter a jot if its proved Poopy were there illegally so we can hold our heads high while they disapear to sunday league football.

Thing your last sentance is a must. We need Ricky on the end of some good deliveries but we dont have anyone in the team that can put the ball into the right places. Morgan can pass from long range so I dont know why he is not the man for the set peices. He doesnt get enough time to put the ball about in general play but you would think from corners and long free kicks he would be ruthless. specially with Ricky on the other end of them. So many changes in the team this year i suppose its hard for the team to practice 1 set way of doing everything. Think we need a run of games where everything stays the same.

Thing is when a business gets to the point where they cant afford to continue they are legally oblidged to take administration or liquidate so they do not continue to make matters worse. If its proved that Poopy have been at that point for some time then they have illegally continued to trade. Thats where the legal people will be fighting any battles. trying to prove one way or another that poopey did or didnt know that they were toast. If its proved they knew and have done for some time then the can of worms will open on if they should have even had a game today. Like I said I would rather take the defeat and move on than be re-instated based on some legal wrangling. The Prem league want them to take admin but unless they can pay off the people attached to the winding up petition they dont have a choice. So its going to cost them a min of 11 mil just to be able to put them selves into admin. If they do that what happens then? Transfer window has finished so the administrators will have no assets to sell off to even attempt to satisfy any further creditors. There only way out of it IMO is if some mug buys them and pays off there debts. 60 mil for a team on route to the CCC doesnt sound like the best of business decissions so I very much doubt there is any buyers waiting in the wings and Storie Teller has just bought some extra time. So its highly likly that the Winding up petition goes ahead and there is a strong possibility that they are wound up and liquidated. Someone gets a buy in the quater finals which im not sure has been done before so thats when I think someone from our side will try to get us back in the FA Cup. As I said before I would rather take the defeat today and just get on with it. We played well enough to be proud of the team and we still have a wembley trip to look forward too and if the team can play like they did today for the rest of the season then maybe that final play off place is still achievable. The teams we face wont have David James in goal who I thought played well today but also got his fare share of luck. he knew nothing about saving that header with his elbow and he was routed to the spot when RJ headed over. We shall see though

They dont have a choice to take administration as the winding up petition is in place. if the report shows that they are trading whilst insolvent the courts have the choice to liquidate them or to place them into admin. It all depends on how bad the debts are and what chances there are of a buyer satisfying the creditors. If they are liquidated and its proved that they have been trading whilst insolvent for some time then im sure someone will argue that they shouldnt have even played today and we should have had a by to the next round. If that were to happen I still think we should just take the loss today and move on rather than try and argue to get back in the cup. that said i agree with you in that they will get away with anything they want and the prem league will make sure they come out smelling of roses.
-
absolutly gutted about the scoreline. the blue few will have bragging rights for a while despite there team being outplayed for 70% of the game. If this report shows that poopy are and have been trading whilst insolvent I wonder what the reprocusions in the cup will be? I mean if its proved that they shouldnt have been around at all today would that open the door to re-instate us in the cup? To be honest I think as we got beat on the day then we shouldnt have the chance to get back in but stranger things have happened I suppose. Back to league 1 football will be a bit of a let down now so the rest of the season will be tough on the players and us lot. Off to drown my sorrows and rip poopy apart on fifa 10.

This looks the most likley although I think Dindan or what ever his name is will run rings round those CB's. We may drop Antonio to the bench and put James in front of the back 4 and then we can sling Antonio on later when his pace might be more effective.

36% for and 32% against at the mo. We need a few more votes to successfully rig there votes lol
-
I agree with Weston on this one. Although due to the History that LeMac has created I would love to meet him and talk football. The clubs recent history has given us plenty of villans to hate so while I am not overwhelmed at LeMacs part in the recent history it doesnt taint what he has done for the club in the past. If he gets freebee's now then fine but creaming money out of the club while it burned was out of order for plenty of people and LeMac was a small part of that era too.

we should win that vote any way cause despite Grants imanginary 250,000 fans we do have more fans than them lol
-
Will Pompey seal derby joy and get the better of Southampton tomorrow? 26% We'll hammer them 25% It will be a slender win for the Blues 25% Get set for a replay 24% No - it's going to be a Pompey defeat LOL get voting http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/10-reasons-why-being-Pompey.6067322.jp

Voted. A bit ironic due to the vote rigging but all the same, well worth 2 clicks lol

Some fantastic storys and IMO the paying for his own ticket would have been a great idea for him and the rest of them when the club was skint. I think every board member past and present could have made the gesture to do the same throughout the revolving door for who was in charge. Once financially secure it sounds like Oldkow was doing it more to push people about and there was only ever going to be one winner so LeMac has every right to smile. Cant wait for tomorrow and ir will be good to see a few faces from our history there and enjoying the beginning or our rise from the ashes.

PS - There could be a Giant killing on the cards here today. NC - No I doubt it, your boys have got no chance. --------------------------------------------------------- PS - We are in the prem dont you know NC - We have got no debts and are not due in court next week, now F off back to the pig sty down the road you pikey tawt ------------------------------------------- NC - Peter tella) Storie, there was no need to pop into bookers to bring the guys lunch today. We can afford to lay a lunch on for all of you and give you a nice day out. Save it for next friday and it will save you a few quid at the courts. ------------------------------------------- PS - Good morning NC, I would like to introduce you to our owner but he doesnt exsist so I have brought along our potential newest owners. Have you met Mr Fialka and MR Lynham?
-
Any chance that these 2 firm offeres to buy Poopy are from Tony Lynam and Michael Fialka? (or how ever they are spelt) If these offeres fail to come to anything then surley the court's will take no ******* about next week and issue a possibly heavier punnishment than what they may have today. I was half expecting the courts to be a little soft today and go for the 28 days but didnt expect anything worse than forcing them into admin. but if they come back next week with nothing more than crap excuses I think the courts will bin them completly. I cant see how anyone is waiting in the wings to pay 60 + million for a team heading for the CCC and possibly lower with a wage bill that would befit a champions league team. Also if they do end up in admin when would there points take effect? Would they role over to next year if they fail to achieve enough points that would normally see them safe?

I have actually given up trying to find a link and im watching sunderland hopfully beat poopy. Never thought I would get to that stage lol

Its not a league match so Saints dont have exclusive rights to the match so there is no reason why it shouldnt be on the solent online. That said, I think it takes the piiiss to have to pay for saintstv to get BBC comentary that I pay for in my TV licence. If the BBC comentary was complete arse and Saintstv offered a better service at a fee I would be happy to pay. As it stands I wont.

I agree with that but also agree with giving the periphal players the idea that to get in the team they have to perform and if they earn the shirt they have the chance to keep it. Its no good having 11 players who know that no matter what they have the shirt. Brum have a stable 1st team but generally they are all performing to keep there shirts. If one has a drop in form there will be a player in the background chomping at the bit to take there place in the team. No-ones place in the team should be safe but the people who have that starting 11 spot need to do more to keep that place in the team IMO.
